Usage on Warships
The Area Defence and Interception System protects the ship from harm across its immediate area by directing point defence systems through the War Net. Firestorm Close-in Weapon System and Windstorm Close-in Weapon System provide the primary interception system with the dual THOR lasers being arranged in phalanxes of two, and the six railguns being arranged in sets of three in front, with the first three being the main interception turrets and the rear line two being 'over watch' engaging any targets that slip past or high priority targets. These are supported by a M980 Weapon Anti Ordinance/Anti Material Defence Weapon secondary turret on every turret that engages any incoming missiles. Furthermore these are supported by a phalanx of two Thunderstorm Close-in Weapon System that annihilates enemy fighters evading lasers through various means or providing a minefield, at the command of the AI. These are all guided through the close range Phased Array RADARs, millimetre wave fire control RADARs, optical, infra-red and UV systems, LIDAR, primary RADOME and radio scanner systems. It can identify and engage up to 3000 targets, on a Frigate, and triples that with AI assistance. On successively larger warships, the system becomes more powerful with more computing power.
Usage on Armoured Fighting Vehicles
When used on AFVs, ADIS system patches into War Net to gain a composite view around its vehicle, and form a gestalt system with other vehicles, directing an overlapping defensive net around them, prioritising and directing self-defence munitions. The system detects the time of engaging munition and deploys the sufficient defensive system to protect against it the threat. ADIS passively monitors RADAR, motion sensors, optical sensor clusters, airborne reconnaissance, space borne reconnaissance, audio receptors and RADAR/LASER receivers. This allows the system to match the defensive measure to the treat, such as deploying RADAR or thermal decoys, smoke canisters, aerosol agents, point defence LASER, bubble shield, magnetic net, spoof it's RADAR signal, blind it's infra-red cameras or dazzle laser guided ordnance. By teaming up multiple systems, they can pool the resources and protect multiple vehicles.
Usage on Air/space Vehicles
On air and spacecraft, ADIS system not only protects the vehicle, using RADAR, RADAR receivers, DAP, magnetic array and LIDAR to detect and determine the nature of threats and disrupt the correct electronic or decoy to disrupt their weapons lock. The ADIS system also directs PAW TSAM against targets directed through the RADAR receiver.
