Ascension is the Covenant name given to Septenary Dependent Transference, a Forerunner Keyship that played a pivotal role in the development of the Covenant Empire, the Great War, and the Battle for Heaven. It was the last of seven Keyships created to, among other things, allow the Reclaimers to gain access to Heaven. While Ascension was originally fitted with a Forerunner AI pilot, it was replaced in the Ardhi War with Prorok. Subsequent AIs to have occupied the role include Cortana and Lazarus.
