Sling

  • M18 Sling: The most common sling in use with the UNSC. Every weapon over the size of the M7 has two sling hooks, one closer to the barrel and one close to the butt. This allows the M18 Sling, an adjustable two point sling with quick release to be mounted. The sling allows the user to secure the weapon to themselves and allow it to hang freely while keeping the weapon within reaching distance. It can be used to freely hang the weapon to allow the Marine to quickly reach for an alternate weapon, grenade or equipment on his person, it can be used yo hang over their back and carry from the shoulder. It features a padded shoulder area to keep it comfortable, buckles for quick and easy modification and latches for quick release, so in emergancies the weapon can be released and disposed of. The sling material is tough and resiliant, meaning the sling has a life span of up to 13 years of constant use before it begins to wear. Slings are available in olive, tan and white coloration.
  • M19 Sling: A sling specially for light, general purpose and heavy machine guns, the strap is a sing point strap which is more robust, simple and allows for the weapon to be more easily carried. The sling is wider, the padding area is also wider and more robust. The sling is designed for machine guns but is also used for Sniper Rifles, designated marksman rifles, missile, grenade and RPG launchers and other heavy weapons.
