The Borneo-class Freighter is a revolutionary additive to the UNSC Department of Commercial Shipping. The freighter is one of the first to be fully automated and not require a propulsion pod to be attached to the cargo hold.
Due to security precautions, the ship is armed with two thirty-millimeter cannons on either side of the ship to ward off pirates, though a failproof protocol to activate the weaponry is installed. Because of these already existing weapons, pirates that capture a ship of the line rewire the cannons to be fired from the ship's reserve bridge, which is normally used for docking, in-atmosphere navigation, etc. Introduced to the shipping industry in 2550, over one hundred were in service by 2570 and an additional 250 were active just under a decade later.
