The Disaster Contingency Autorevolver is a recoil operated semi-automatic revolver designed and produced by Disaster Contingency Firearms. Design details[]The Disaster Contingency Autorevolver uses the recoil from the previous shot to cock the hammer rather than doing it manually or with a double-action trigger that is commonly seen on revolvers of the 21st century. Also unlike conventional revolvers, the DC Autorevolver's barrel is aligned with the bottom of the cylinder rather than the top; this directs the recoil to be more in-line with the shooter's hand, substantially reducing muzzle rise. The DC Autorevolver also possesses an internal magnetorheological dampening system and is almost always fitted with a muzzle brake to counteract the immense recoil of the 26th-century cartridges it shoots. Available cartridges[].42 DC Magnum[]The .42 DC Magnum is a straight-walled semi-rimmed cartridge with a case length of 65 millimeters. A Disaster Contingency Autorevolver chambered in .42 DC Magnum can hold up to six cartridges in its cylinder. .571 DC Magnum[]The .571 DC Magnum is a straight-walled semi-rimmed cartridge with a case length of 61 millimeters. A Disaster Contingency Autorevolver chambered in .571 DC Magnum can hold up to five cartridges in its cylinder and can also load and fire 32-gauge shotgun shells. Trivia[]
