[edit] Early Life
Dekd Nok was born the child of rogue Kig-Yar Pirate Prince Huka, though he did not know his father for long, and was a member of the Kep Clan; because of the latter circumstance he was among the lead Kig-Yar even during their Covenant years. Quickly learning the Kig-Yar way of life, he was repeatedly mistreat by members of the Sangheili and Jiralhanae races, and was many times beaten badly for "misconduct", including nearly being killed once by a drunk Jiralhanae.
[edit] Second Battle of Arcadia
A minor engagement in the Human-Covenant War, the Covenant returned to Arcadia in 2549 to collect the relics of the world and destroy the UNSC colony remaining there. Part of the force sent to destroy the few remaining cities on the continent of Mu, Dekd and his fellow Kig-Yar plundered and murdered throughout several cities, secretly stealing almost a week's worth of food and smuggling it back to their ship: when their Sangheili Shipmaster discovered it, they were all promptly beaten and the booty confiscated.

Part of Ameigh's fleet at the Hyperion Nebula Campaign, Dekd managed to escape from the losing fight with the rest of the retreating Combined Fleet of Indefinite Might. When the fleet entered the Paris IV system, Dekd's ship plunged to the planet's surface, and once shield generators and AA Batteries were in place Dekd and the rest of the ship's forces began attacks on the local cities; however, the UNSC forces eventually managed to compose themselves and form a defense. In the final UNSC push, Dekd's ship came under attack by Sergeant Johnson's team of Marines: though Johnson's team destroyed the ship in the end, Dekd and his fellow Kig-Yar killed most of the team and Dekd himself personally wounded Johnson, though not too severely. After the fight, Dekd managed to escape his ship's destruction and retreat to the last Covenant ship on the planet and retreat with it back to Covenant space.

Having been born while the Kig-Yar were under the rule of the Covenant, Dekd Nok (Dekd at the time) was often tormented by the other races. When the Covenant Loyalists fought their last battle, Dekd Nok joined the rebellion against the Loyalists, taking on his name at that time as a rebellion against the laws of the Covenant, which stated a Kig-Yar could only have one name. After this, he became a high ranking member of the Kig-Yar Pirates who just beyond the borders of the UNSC and USR. Following the death of the 'Pirate Lord' Kred Vek, he brutally assumed command of the Pirates, killing those who opposed and manipulating his followers into positions of power.

In 2607, the Covenant Remnants approached Dekd Nok with a proposal: aid them in taking the UNSC world of Kanna, and they could have whatever plunders on the world then wanted. Thinking only momentarily, Dekd Nok quickly accepted, and mobilized a large force of Kig-Yar Pirates to attack with the Remnant force.

Rather psychotic, Dekd Nok convinces others to follow him through sheer fear and force. This psychotic mind is also partly a problem for him, as it makes him go into a frenzy as he kills, making him not pay attention to other threats. In truth, it's often wondered how he can actually lead. Though he has enough of a mind to maintain plans and lead, he has a number of mental and physical illnesses:
- Alcoholic
- Eats his foes
- Bipolar
- Carries a disease similar to Rabies, but is immune himself
- Sociopath (lacks a conscience, not emotions)
- Sadistic
- Slightly cannibalistic (is known to have ripped off and eaten the arms of other Kig-Yar that disobeyed him)
[edit] Appearance
Dekd Nok dresses in radiant clothing (for a Kig-Yar), in all reds and blacks. His crest is a bright red, and rather large, and his eyes are silver, though one of them is covered in a view finder. He has a few Covenant symbols tatooed on his shoulders. His beak is scarred from several fights with other Kig-Yar, even chipped off in a few places. He is also missing one of the fingers on his left hand.
