[edit] History
Dok'G-Lak grew up with the name Lak in the wealthiest clan in the Kig-Yar Union, the Zan Clan. It controlled most of the Trading Companies and made the greatest incomes, which mostly gave them the most seats in the Senate.
When he finished school, he worked for a few years in the Kig-Yar Senate's service, until it was time for the Senate to be reorganized again. Dok'G-Lak's clan received the most seats, and thus was allowed to choose the Union's next Grand Senator. The Senate then decided to make Dok'G-Lak the Grand Senator, since he had recently become the leader of the clan after his father died. He has ruled the Union ever since.
[edit] Remnant and Pirate Campaigns
During the 2600s, as the Covenant Remnant and Kig-Yar Pirates started to move, Dok'G-Lak argued with the Sangheili council over whether they would be allowed to send warships through Sangheili territory to attack Pirate bases or not. The Sangheili refused, fearing that the KYU ships might attack a Sangheili world, while Lak and the Senate argued against the accusations, claiming to only want to destroy their destined foes.
Ultimately, during the planning of Operation: FIRE, the AUR decided to include the KYU in their attack plan by letting them attack the Black Abyss, a pirate stronghold. The Sangheili demanded to have Sangheili ships escort the kig-yar fleet however. Lak was forced to agree.
[edit] Necros War
Though his period as Grand Senator was almost over, the start of the Necros War allowed Lak to remain in the position until the end of the crisis. Filled with fear over the Necros, he took in Jarga Jastenon VIII's and the Tarom Lineage's advice and prepared the union to attempt an alliance with the Necros. However, Lak's mate, Vor'N-Ulu, rallied the KYU military and the Kig-Yar Pirates. Although Lak had the support of the Claws of Eayn mercenaries and the Tarom Lineage's forces, he lost the the resulting civil war and was executed by Vor'N-Ulu.
