[edit] Early Life
Draekus was raised by his parents for quite a while, with a rather promising future ahead of him as a scientist and historian planned for him. But then, all of that was shattered by the coming of war: the Covenant arrived in the Plainsfier system and so began the Covenant-Plainsfier War.
In one of the final attacks of the war, the location where Draekus' family was hiding was almost completely destroyed by a Covenant stealth attack: in the battle, Draekus’ parents were killed, and Draekus himself nearly killed as well. Keeping his head about him just enough, he made himself to look like a Sangheili so that, upon discovery by a rescue team, they took him back to their fleet above: there, Draekus was surprised to discover other Plainsfierians, who had survived via the last-ditch effort of the Draco Clan to cause a distraction while others snuck into the Covenant fleet.
However, despite the fact that he had survived and even had found himself with other Plainsfierians, Draekus was all but dead: gone was the promising young man of talent, replced by an orphaned boy with a want to gain vengeance from any he could gain it from. Working his trade as a scientist for some years, Draekus eventually committed an unheard of act for a Plainsfierian and joined the Covenant military, soon putting his stealth and shape-shifting abilities to good use as a Special Operations Sangheili, rising eventually to the rank of Special Operations Commander of the Covenant

It was the Necros War that was the dark match on Draekus' fire. He and Respla were one of first of the AUR forces to encounter the Necros-revived Nogard: the resulting battle was short and grim. Once again, fate dealt cruelly with Draekus, as he survived just barely but his wife died.
