Grand Senator is a title that's given to the leader of the Kig-Yar Union. The Grand Senator is elected by the clan in the Kig-Yar Senate that has the most seats. The Grand Senator is often the leader of the "winning" clan, but not always.
[edit] Description
The Grand Senator can only handle matters like wars (when a Senate meeting would take too much time, and sometimes be devastating) without meeting with the Senate first. He can also be granted other emergency powers if needed, like, stay on his post longer than normally permitted. Thus, the occasional power-hungry Grand Senator will attempt to arrange crisis to occur so that he can stay longer in his position. The Grand Senator has a personal guard of Kig-Yar Shocktroopers, like the Senate.
