This is a story about how SPARTANs can die.
[edit] Chapters
[edit] Prolouge
SPARTANs never die, that is what people say, but everyone knows that never happened. An group of 75 people could never take on over 10 billion aliens trying to exterminate the human race. Well that was over now, 7 years after the end of the Human-Covenant War the SPARTANs have had no major battles since that. Soon another force would surface and attack the UNSC, actually in three years the Shield Corporation would try to take the life of the galaxy away, well to the story. A recording from a marine’s helmet camera.
“This is Corporal Mendeza calling from the UNSC Endever, pirates ambushed us and their weapons hit our engines. We lost power then a strange blue beam hit the middle of the ship and it was blown in two. The front half drifted into a star and was destroyed the bottom half landed on a strange floating city, confirmed not Covenant. Several marine patrols that we sent out have been gone for 6 hours now. We need immediate evac, I think something is wrong with this place,” Corporal Mendeza ended the recording there and turned to face the marine which stood at the makeshift comm. Center’s door.
“Sir there’s been gunfire in the engine room,” said the marine.
“Well send a fire team down there and kill what ever it is!” yelled Mendeza.
“Yes sir!” he yelled and went to assemble his fire team. Mendeza looked back at the screen and then he heard it a roar and then he turned and picked up his assault rifle. The frightened member of the comm. Center sealed the door and picked up his pistol, Mendeza turned on his flashlight and shone it around trying to see if anything was in the room. As Mendeza looked at the door again a scream was heard form of the camera’s view.
“Holy S@#%,” yelled out another of the crewmen in the room as the corner where the first crewman was standing was now a large patch of blood and a pair of legs propped up against the wall. Intestines coming up from the legs lead up to a vent, which was now a hole in the wall.
“Everyone get out of here!” yelled out Mendeza as he fired his assault rifle into the vent. Pinging noises could be heard from the vent as the bullets ricocheted off of the metal of the vent as the crewmen in the room became more nervous. Then another scream rang out through the small room. Mendeza looked over to see the head of the crewmen just showing out of another vent. Hearing the crewman’s screams of pain he aimed his assault rifle and fired two rounds into his head. His screams of pain stopped and his body went limp. The thing dragged his body into the vent and a splash of blood came into view.
Mendeza started breathing deeper now it was only he and one more crewman.
“Stay close,” said Mendeza, but there was no reply.
“Hey Johnny,” Mendeza said again and as he turned the camera took a picture of a wide gaping bloody mouth and Johnny’s hand in one of the teeth. A arm came swinging at the camera and knocked off Mendeza’s helmet and it rolled so that it faced the ceiling all that was recorded after was a blood splatter on the roof and a horrible bloodcurdling scream of pain.
End of Recording…
[edit] Chapter 1 Don't be so Certain
“This is what is left of Mendeza,” said Admiral Ferris holding up a bag full of armor drenched in blood and one eyeball.
“Evidence shows that he was torn limb from limb and then eaten,” said Ferris adjusting his cap. SPARTAN-064 knew what this meant from the 6 years that hey had known each other there was something more.
“What else is there,” asked 064 putting on the helmet of his MJOLNIR armor and picking up a M6G magnum sidearm from the rack bedside him.
“Well, the odd thing is the city which he and the rest of the marines were on was confirmed not Covenant,” Ferris said as 064 pulled a MA5C assault rifle.
“Well who was its,” asked 064 grabbing several clips for both of his guns and inspecting them to make sure they were full.
“Unknown, you are to go investigate and see if there are any survivors,” 064 clipped the MA5C to his back and went back to the weapon rack one more time.
“So I might need a little more firepower,” he said pulling the Spartan Laser form the weapon rank and clipping it over the MA5C.
“Good so are you ready?” asked Admiral Ferris.
“As ready as I’ll ever be,” he said walking out of the weapon room with Admiral Ferris. They walked for some time down the metal hallways 064’s metal boots making a loud clanging noise every time he made a step. The halls were crowded with marines and all smiled and said hello to the Admiral and 064. As they reached the hanger 3 other SPARTANs joined them. The members of Fire team Zulu looked at the Admiral and 064.
“Did you brief them to,” 064 asked Ferris looking at the three SPARTANs, he was in the same med bay when the fourth member of their team died. The leader of the team 147 was armed with a shotgun and a plasma rifle on her belt, second in command had a MA5C and a BR55 SR Battle Rifle, and the heavy weapons expert had a M7057/Defoliant Projector and two M70 smgs.
“The question is are you ready,” said the leader walking into the hanger where a pelican sat ready for the flight down.
“Can you believe these girls,” said 064 to Ferris looking around the hanger trying to see if they had any backup
“They are some of the best,” Ferris replied looking to see what 064 was trying to see.
“Do we have any backup,” said 064 trying to change the subject.
“Yes a squad of ODST,” Ferris said pointing to a squad loading up onto the pelican.
“Good,” he said walking into the pelican turning around a giving a salute, The other SPARTANs turned and looked at the Admiral giving him a salute and walked right into the pelican. 064 looked at the three elite soldiers sit in the pelican and the hanger doors closed. The roar of the engines started up and the lift of the pelican started, the hanger doors opened with a small jerk and the pelican soared through the open door heading towards the hellhole below. The pelican flew through the vacuum of space, its engines making the loudest noise the ODST and SPARTANs could hear. The pilots looked out at each other and back at the men they were carrying.
“Hey pilots do we have any vehicles?” yelled out the ODST leader Richard.
“Ya Corporal enough hogs to carry all ya, and a Mongoose for ye lone one” the pilot replied in his thick Scottish accent.
“Well that will haft to do then,” yelled out another ODST Jesse. The pelican continued its descent into the false atmosphere of the city drifting in space. As the pelican landed on the metal surface of the city the doors opened and the ODSTs and SPARTANs were greeted with one of the worst sights that could have greeted them. A skid mark in blood and beyond that several feet of intestines, a liver and a lung, two more feet over a bloody hand. After that the rest of the body and a large black shadowy figure, with streams of blood dribbling down its mouth. The thing looked like a large upright standing wolf except the fact that it was entirely colored black, kinda like those things we fought at Arctic IV thought 064. He pulled out his Assault rifle and fired 5 rounds into the creature. It yelped and turned, its fiery red eyes stared at the SPARTAN and his stained red jaws opened in a snarl and a toe could be seen speared on one of the teeth. It looked at the SPARTANs and ODSTs and swayed back and forth. Four other pelicans hovered near the first and dropped three warthogs and a mongoose.
“Scramble, get to the hogs!” yelled out Richard running to the nearest warthog and the wofl thing pounced at the ODST. It went after Jesse first and grabbed him by the stomach, throwing him to the ground it lowered its jaws and bit into Jesse’s chest. A hair-raising scream rose from the ODST as the wolf things jaws closed around the poor soldier. Its teeth dug straight into the sides of his chest and he ripped up tearing out some of the ODST’s lungs. The broken soldiers grabed a grenade primed it and the wolf bit into his face, ripping out half of Jesse’s head. Crunching sounds could be heard when the wolf chewed the meat in his mouth when he bit the pieces of skull, then it happened the grenade exploded ripping out half of the wolfs body. “Fire!” yelled Richard and hundreds of bullets impacted on the weakened wolf thing ripping holes in it’s black shadowy form. It tried to run away, but the bullets kept on coming knocking it down and eventually killing it. The ODSTs and SPARTANs walked over to the body and investigated the wolf.
“What the hell is this thing?” asked one of the ODST Sarah.
“I don’t know, but whatever it is we need to look out for…” he was interrupted by the wolf things body suddenly disappearing in a puff of black smoke.
“What the hell?” Jen yelled as she jumped back surprised by the sudden evaporation of the thing that just killed her teammate.
“What should we do with Jesse?” asked one of the ODST named Dane.
“145 you know what to do, everyone else get loaded up,” said 064 as he jumped into the side of a warthog. 145 walked over to the body and pulled out her flamethrower and burned the body of the fallen soldier.
“Goodbye friend,” said Richard jumping into the drivers seat of the warthog with 064 in it, Richard gave the sign to the pelicans to take off. They then drove off leaving the Mongoose there, Leaving the burning body of Jesse as more wolves gathered where the meat was burning, waiting for their meal. 064 never wanted to return to that spot, incase the body still attracted hunters, not the covenant kind.

[edit] Chapter 2 Can you Hear the Music
The warthog bounced on the cracked and sometimes broken ground, until it came to the soldier’s desired location. The half of the Marathon class cruiser sat in front of them, the front end burned and broken the back burned and broken. The middle had hundreds of small holes and large burn marks all around it. The warthogs skidded to a halt in front of the massive amalgamation of metal and the occupants exited.
“Wow this thing took a beating,” said Jen walking over to the ship and kicking the side, which reverberated up the side of the metal craft. Jen picked up her BR55 and squeezed it even tighter. SPARTAN-064 went over to the door and seeing that it was jammed proceeded to kick it down with his large metal foot.
“Ok everyone walk light, no lights, proceed with caution,” said Richard as the five ODSTs and four SPARTANs walked in the dark hallway. The hallway was dank and dark with, the floor was slippery, and when an ODST stepped on something that made a loud crack noise, they knew why it was this way. Twenty or so human bodies were laid out on the floor stomachs ripped open; skulls ripped open, missing limbs and cut arteries.
“Oh my god, what the hell happened here?” asked Richard looking at the piles of dead bodies that littered the floor.
“Those things happened here,” 064 picking up his Assault Rifle and gripped so tight that his knuckles under the gauntlets started to turn white. As they walked through the crafts aft section more and more marine and ODST bodies littered the hall. The small scout group took a turn that lead them into a living quarters, where seven to eight decomposing, half eaten bodies lay the fat from the bodies making the floor slippery. One of the ODST took a lighter from his pocket and set the small room ablaze. As they continued their way through the tight hallways, they started to have to walk in single file line.
“Hey Robert, this place is creepier then anything we, have had to face hum,” said a ODST near the back of the line.
“Robert, hey Robert?” said the ODST named Terence, turning to see that Robert was gone.
“Hey guys Roberts gone!” he yelled out, looking at the other ODST. He looked into the scope of his BR55 SR Battle Rifle and pointing it down the hall.
“Arggggggggggg!!” came a scream from down the hall and a helmet came flying down the hall. It landed in front of Terence and he picked it up and looked at the visor, it was covered in blood and a large gash spanned across the visor. A long howling came down the hallway and the humans stopped and looked down the hallway. A rushing sound of wind came down the hallway and the humans turned and looked down the metal corridor.
“Run!” yelled of 064 booking it down the hallway. The humans ran till their breath came in short small gasps. SPARTAN-114 turned and pointed her BR55 down the hallway and pulled a plasma grenade.
“Run I will deal with this thing,” she said turning on the plasma grenade and firing off the battle rifle into the thing. The rest of the humans ran off and looked behind them to see a flash of blue, the burst of fire form the rounds, sounds of bullets reverberating off the walls and the sound of splashing liquid and the thud of a body. The humans continued to run till they went down on their knees panting from exhaustion all except for the SPARTANs.
They continued to walk until they reached a door that looked well fortified. They walked in and discovered that it was the comm center from the video that Mendeza had taken. Removing the bodies from the room they started to settle down and the tried to contact Admiral Ferris. What they did find was something worse a journal writing by a marine onboard this ship.
Day 1: We have had high hopes, we are lucky that we survived the destruction of the ship and the crash on the city; several marine patrols have been sent out to check the surrounding area.
Day 2: Two of the seven marine patrol have not returned, I’m worried the crew has gotten restless we sent out a platoon to start a camp on the other side of the city. The marines posted on guard duty have reported strange sounds coming from everywhere.
Day 3: The base was set up and another platoon was sent there further reinforcing it.
Day 4: Some scouts came back with photographs of the some of the scouts that went out on the first day; it looked like they had been eaten. We sent some messengers in a warthog over to the other base. I’m going to try and get the captain to send out some squads to find something to get out of here.
Day 5: The Ship was attacked today about thirty of us were killed and several repairs were destroyed again. Twenty fully loaded warthogs were sent out looking for the things that attacked us. I think that was a bad idea.
Day 7: The men we sent to give a message to the other base haven’t returned. The commanding officers have begun to record messages and send the out into open space, god willing we will get off this city of death.
Day 10: It’s been three days since I last wrote and things are getting worse. Several of the warthogs haven’t returned after five days and we fear the worst. Command told us that we are staying in the ship. I’m helping Corporal Mendeza send out the message.
Day 11: I found a soldier dead today when I was patrolling the halls, he wasn’t dead of anything we had seen so far. He was shot several times through the chest. Could one of the marines gone insane and shot one of his friends. I don’t know, but a lot of things could have gone wrong and I still thin they will.
Day 14: We have little time left, the things have taken half of the ship and the comm. room luckily I was out of the room. We trying to push there and send a message telling anyone never to come here.
Day 16: We took the room, but most of the equipment was destroyed, I can hear them coming though, I hope we can last the night.
As 064 finished reading the last entry he looked at the last of the entries and saw that it was only half complete with a strange garble of letters at the end. The end read “Their here if you find this its probably to late ddafdfgbgjhj,”
“We need to leave, I can her something coming,” yelled out Richard as pounding footsteps could be heard on the other side of the door. The ODST and SPARTANs jumped out of the door and pointed their guns down the hall. What they saw scared the living hell out of them. Tens of tentacles and several gnawing mouths with jagged teeth. One of the ODSTs grabbed his BR55 with grenade launcher attachment and fired. A grenade soared into one of the black things mouths exploding in it. Explosions erupted in its mouth and several jagged pieces of tooth flied off. The Thing didn’t stop and it kept on barreling down the hallway. The SPARTANs and ODSTs began to run down the metallic hallway. As they ran one of the SPARTANs out of blind panic, saw a small hole up ahead.
“Quick through that hole,” she said throwing herself into it. The other SPARTANs followed suit. Three of the ODST dived for the hole and as the fourth one leapt, the thing caught up. From what the last ODST could see a tentacle whipped out grabbing Terence around the midriff and threw him against the wall. Terence had left his radio on so the rest of the group could hear what they couldn’t see. A horrible scream, a crunch of bones and the chewing on flesh. As the SPARTANs and ODST exited the ship through the several holes in the ship, they looked around and saw as the ship slowly started to roll. The ship rolled and rolled over small buildings and eventually rolled right off into open space.
“Come on, maybe we will find someone still alive at the base on the other side,” said 064 walking into the warthog.
“How can you say that, half of our team just got massacred and a SPARTAN died!” yelled out Jen from where she stood.
“Look death is a reality, a reality that is all to real, I’ve had to fight the pains of loss to, you feel like you want to die, but then you realize that’s not what that person sacrificed their life to do, get it!” 064 yelled at the ODST.
“Yes sir…” she replied weakly getting into a warthog as the low-spirited group of soldiers drove off into the distance away from the crash site of the UNSC Olympus.

[edit] Chapter 3 Why?
SPARTAN-064 continued to drive, it was silent and that was good, he needed time to think. Looking down at the M6G on his leg, he realized just how much he was controlling this situation. He looked at the ODST in his warthog, Richard and Jen some of the only ODST left, the other in the other warthog. They passed a small group of the black wolf things and they turned from their meal for a second. A second long enough to see what it was, several human bodies, two turned over mongooses lay there. The warthogs sped on to their goal.
After driving for several hours something began to show on the horizon. As they neared it began to stand out more clearly. It was the UNSC’s marine camp all right, but something was wrong, very wrong. The tires on 064 warthog popped and the warthog went into a crazy spin.
“Hold on!” he yelled over the din of the warthog’s tires screeching and then the warthog flipped. It turned over and over again and Jen the turret fell out. He body hit the ground with a sickening crunch and she rolled with blood seeping out of the several large cuts on her body. The warthog finally stopped its crazy spinning and the SPARTAN and the ODST jumped out and ran back to the fallen ODST.
“She died when she hit the ground,” said 145 pointing to a large wound on the side of her head, which was bleeding profusely.
“I’m… not … dead….yet,” Jen said as blood poured out of the massive head wound.
“What can we do, she is going to die very soon,” said Richard as he knelt down beside his fallen squad mate.
“We can make her passing easier,” he said drawing his M6G and pointing at the fallen ODST.
“No don’t shoot her!” yelled Richard blocking the firing path of the magnum.
“Your right sorry pick her up and bring her to the base camp maybe we can find some strong biofoam,” said 064 helping pick up the fallen ODST. As a sign of mercy or just going after the weakest, a long black tentacle shot out and stabbed the ODST straight through the stomach and lifting her off her feet. Slamming her down on the ground it flung her into it’s gapping mouth.
“I though it died with the shipwreck!” yelled Richard as he fired a three round burst into one of the creatures massive red bloodshot eyes. It screamed and lashed out, Richard just dodged it and then 064 took the laser off his back. He took aim and waited the annoying three seconds before it fired. One…. Two…. Three fire! The large red beam shot out and hit straight in the middle of the thing blowing a good chunk straight out of the black creature. Then 145 jumped in with her flamethrower and started to burn the hole that the Spartan laser made, this was purely to keep it open as the rest of the small force threw grenades into the hole. They exploded destroying a lot of the black matter around the explosions. The chain guns spun pounding .50 caliber bullets into the massive creature wounding it further. Then after the laser had cooled down 064 aimed again. Again the red laser lanced out blowing a chunk out of the thing. The thing swayed tittered then fell with a great slam sending a shockwave through the stone underneath.
“There now it’s dead,” said Richard walking over to the last ODST still alive on this mission.
“You said it,” said Sarah to her leader.
“Yes, now lets proceed to the camp maybe someone will still be alive, maybe they might even be sane, maybe, all of those were maybe,” he said looking at the nebula storm which threatened to send the ships crowed around the city to flee.
The motley crew walked into the camp to surprisingly find no one. Though throughout the camp there was the odd batch of blood stained floor or wall. Right before they were about to give up a man walked out from behind several large barrels and looked at the sky yelling something at the top of his lungs.
“They came from the Darkness, horrible ripping the flesh from bone devouring all in their way, then little ones small fragile came and turned them into them and they followed! I’m they only one left, take me now and return me to the soil form which I was BORN!” he yelled and the small group ran over to him.
As they were about to reach him a tentacle shot out of the ground spearing him on the end. The man flailed as he was in incomparable pain, then the tentacle shot back into the ground taking him with it. He had effectively gone back into the earth.
“Get Back!” yelled 064 as they ran back to the buildings. They looked around the building he had entered and realized this was a worse idea. The wire at his foot snapped and the building exploded knocking out his shields and sending him flying back. A shotgun landed beside him as he looked into the sky and asked himself the questions he had to ask himself. He remembered the conversation he had with Iota Seven a couple of days ago.
“Please don’t go, why can’t you just stay, quit the military, go back to the nice part of Jenesus VI” she had begged him as he grabbed her hand.
“This is something I have to do, there are marines out there waiting for someone to save them,” he had almost yelled turning away from Iota Seven and started to walk away.
“Do you always have to be like this!” she yelled at him as she turned away.
“No, but this is the one thing I want to do before I leave, Admiral Ferris asked me personally,” 064 said with a slight tone of sadness on his voice.
064 could see the decision spinning around in her head then she almost whispered, “ Well come back, please for both of us,”
“I will,” he said giving her a small kiss on the forehead.
When he had boarded the pelican, which would bring him to the UNSC Combine, Admiral Ferris’s flagship. Iota seven had waved good-bye to him lowering her head as she walked back to civilian life.
What is Death? 064 thought as his unshielded body collided with the ground cracking several of his bones. Is it the lack of electrical impulses through the nerves and brain of a organism or is it more. Is it the being in this world, the living, the seeing, the smelling? Are we just created to die, leaving a wake of another emotion that is merely a chemical imbalance in the brain? Or is everything a lie told be those before us and none of us really lived or died. Trust another stream of chemicals that affected the electric coarsening through our nerves. What made 064 trust Admiral Ferris? Regret, Regretting his life was something 064 would never do; he had met all kinds of people, seen beautiful landscapes and ended maybe thousands of lives that he himself had been experiencing. Finally the last question or electric memory that zapped through his head was Love. A couple shots of the hormones and they call it love. Love at first sight, is merely a large rush of hormones to the brain telling the host that the other would be good to mate with. Or was love deeper harder to penetrate, something even science couldn’t solve. That ended his train of thought as his head snapped back onto the cold pavement and too the conscious thought away from his aching body
[edit] Chapter 4: Don't Look Back
Blackness, something the SPARTAN had experienced hundreds of times the emptiness, the loneliness, and the pain. He lifted one of the heavy gauntlets feel for the trusting hand to pick him up and lift him to his safety, but not this time. He grabbed the hand and pulled as it lifted him and his body of the ground. He opened his eyes a white outline around a spot of nothingness.
“What the hell!” he yelled letting go and falling back onto his back. A single unblinking I eye stared at him four eyelids closed as it blinked, the only way you could see it was the light that it blocked out, a shadow in the spotlight. He lifted his head and plunged his hand into the beast. He yelled out and pulled his hand out as the armor melted away from his smoldering hand. Pulling the only weapon he could remember off his leg and thrust the sword into the creature.
It melted the sword and the molten melt dripped onto his hand. He threw the sword away and jumped back as a tentacle shot through his leg. He felt it go in a quickly grabbed it and snapped it apart. Grabbing the end of the tentacle he shoved it in the beasts eye causing it to scream out in pain. He turned to run and slammed straight in to a wall. The beast blinked and the tentacle disappeared.
“You are a fool, thinking you could escape nothing can protect you,” it croaked out its voice sounding like nails against metal. 064 fumbled around the wall trying to find a door handle or something. He felt something and pulled a large metal door swung open and he stood face to metal with thousands of sentinels.
They were all turned off and he stumbled into the room as the thing lashed out. The tentacles dissolved when the light hit them leaving it to crawl back into the darkness. As he turned ran into a hove, he look up and saw the face of his old enemy, ally and even sometimes friend. Dyr ‘Jar Refos grab the SPARTAN a put him on his feet.
‘Jar Refos activated his sword and took several steps back before turning and walking down the large hallway. It was totally dark except for several spot of light that flooded down for the fixtures on the ceiling, or roof he couldn’t tell. 064 followed closely behind the elite. 064 felt defenseless without a gun a asked ‘Jar Refos for one.
“Hey Dyr-“ “Call me ‘Jar Refos,” he said with a hint of annoyance at having to continue reminding him. After knowing him for over 7 years.
“Yeah whatever, anyway could ya lend me a gun,” asked the armored figure. ‘Jar Refos responded by tossing him a plasma rifle. Grabbing it in mid air he brought it to bare and felt the familiar weight in his hands. Lifting it to point in front he saw and recognized something that most humans wouldn’t. He fired four shots and the things exploded send little chunks of flood everywhere.
“What I thought only these Dark beings were present on this place,” said ‘Jar Refos slashing at another Flood.
“Me to, although I had no idea what we were going to fight in the first place,” said 064 as he grabbed a flood and smashed it against the floor.
“Lets just hope that we don’t meet the Combat Forms, we should be fine till we get to the surface, its just the flood down hear, when we reach the surface the Dark beings have speared because the lack of light, we passed behind a planet,” explained ‘Jar Refos as ten or so Major Domos walked out from another passage.
“Admiral we are here to serve,” said one of them, he looked like the leader.
“Good I have the Demon lets head up to the surface for extraction and-“
“But there is more SPARTANs here, two others somewhere,” said 064.
“I understand do have any idea where they might be?” asked ‘Jar Refos looking around with his night vision trying to see anything coming for him.
“I don’t know they were searching a different building when I was attacked so,”
“Then the surface is the best place to start,” said ‘Jar Refos continuing down the path to fresh air.
064 looked down the path to the next spot of lights and looked down at his mission clock. They had been on this thing for 6 hours now and had been walking for over 40 minutes. Looking down at his own gauntlet he lifted the gun to his face, The slick, slender form of the weapon the could cause death in a few controlled bursts. The light yet dark blue of the shell of the plasma core shone as light reflected of it telling his eyes that it was that color. The feeling of the trigger pressed against his hand ready to let the liquid yet not liquid substance escape from the blue holding chamber. Almost at the same time keeping all the energy of his arms, legs and torso all in the small ridge of alien metal. Then his gaze drifted to his actual arm. The almost block like shape of his MJOLNIR armor, the olive green sprayed on color, the many holes which had been left by all types of projectiles. Needlers, spikes, plasma everything that had hit him had bounced off his shields or gone into his flesh.
He was wrenched out of his almost dream like state as the rest of the universe came back into his vision. Several roars were heard as the elites fired at the large black wolf stood in front of them. ‘Jar Refos lunged at the wolf and slashed off one of its arms. The severed arm fell to the ground useless, then evaporated into the air around the wolf. “Jar Refos took another slashing cut the thing in half. He brought his sword back up and slashed through the things chest butting the top half apart also. The parts evaporated into the air as well. They continued up the small incline and out into the air and the topside of the place.
064 looked around and saw something he had not last time he had surfaced. The place was alight. Burning with thousands of tons of plasma as ten Loyalist ship started to glass the floating space station. Half of the station was set of fire turning to glass or sand. Horrible things be felled the soldiers that were sent to save the SPARTANs and they were all gone burned into dust. 064 fell to his knees, looking to the sky trying to see what was happening. Flash of blue and purple shot out as the Covenant ships fired off volleys of plasma shots burning through the shields and hull of other slick purplish blue ships.
The Imperial Admiral walked over to 064 and grabbed his shoulder.
“If the gods meant for it to be this way, then it is supposed to be this way,”
“I thought you guys stopped believing in the Covenant religion,”
“Just because the prophets were false does not mean the gods were,” ‘Jar Refos replied grabbing his sword, “ We have to go, one of my soldiers is bleeding the wolfs a drawn to the scent of blood.”
The small troops started to move lifting their heavy boots or hooves. The guns were squeezed tight in the hands of the soldiers. The group heard a small thump as a clawed foot hit the ground at 30 miles per hour and the group turned. The sword passed through the wolfs head and its body flew through the air and hit the ground at a elites feet. The elite stepped on the writing body and turned his carbine on the beast’s body. Shooting the body for one entire clip it stopped writhing and faded away in a cloud of black mist.
064 was getting tired of these wolf attacks, they were getting more frequent and the wolfs themselves were getting stronger. The group walked for 10 more minutes with ony one wolf attack, before ‘Jar Refos turned to 064.
“This is pointless, we will go back to my flagship and scan for them then send more elites and grunts to save the rest of the SPARTANs,” said ‘Jar Refos reaching for his arm comm.
“Fine,” 064 replied as ‘Jar Refos called for pickup. In 5 minutes two phantom dropships came done from the sky and picked up the group so they could get back to the ship.
