[edit] Introduction

Oh yes, I remember Ceres. It was a very fertile planet, filled with giant trees and large canyons spanned by awe-inspiring bridges. It seemed peaceful enough, save the fighting between us boys, the Covenant and the natives. But the real problems lay below, down on the planet's surface. There, it was always nighttime and the creatures that lurked in those depths sought to feast on the flesh of whatever wandered close enough. And it was there of course that we had to fight most of the battles...

Far from the regular lines of battle lay a planet, forgotten by time. Filled with rampant growth of the flora, vast canyons and large expanses of nothing. Nowhere is safe on this planet, and its' situation will not improve. There is little sentient life, save a few Human and Covenant outposts and the tree-top towns of the native creatures. Soon this will change though. Creatures will arise from the depths. Some of which have never been seen before....

The Last Battle of Ceres? Oh I don't even like to think about that. It was one of the worst battles I ever went through. No one knew what happened until it hit us. We thought nothing could stop them....

The planet's relative peace will turn to chaos. A Forerunner installation guards two secrets never meant to be found. The giant flora and huge mountains was meant to cover up these secrets. But soon, they will be unleashed. And unless the installation is allowed to do its' duty, nothing will stop them....

[edit] Background Information

Shortly after the Battle of the Satellite, the UNSC Endeavor was sent to the coordinates of signal that was sent from the station. They came out of slipspace in orbit of the extraordinarily fertile planet of Ceres. They set up base and planned to claim the planet for the UNSC. Covenant soon arrived though and tried to claim it for themselves, and the native species, the Bujkowe, fought both forces with extreme ferocity. Nearly a year after the fighting had begun though, something happened. All that the humans managed to get out was an extremely garbled message. It was as follows:

Mayday, Mayday. This is Ceres base. We need immediate assistance from any UNSC or allied Covenant forces. I repeat we need immediate assistance fromany UNSC or allied Covenant forces. The base is under attack by these strange...things! They are not Covenant, Bujkowe or wildlife, they're like nothing I've ever seen. We will attempt to hold off the creatures as long as we can. Hurry before... aaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!

[edit] Roleplaying

[edit] 1

"That", said Fleet Admiral Jim Wilson, "was the last transmission sent from the Ceres Outpost. It's been two weeks with no other transmissions. Our job is to figure out what happened"

"Admiral, what do you think could have happened?" It was Amy, now the mentor of the new Team Alpha. All of the original Team Alpha except for her died in the Battle of the Satellite. She was given an honorable discharge and never wanted to see any sort of combat again. Unfortunately, she was a soldier in her blood, and she joined the second wave of the Team Alpha project, if only to keep her former teammates children safe. Though she was only their mentor and didn't go into combat, she took pride in her job.

"Not sure actually. He stated clearly that it wasn't the Bujkowe or Covenant and while he said it wasn't the wildlife that planet has so much it could've been one they didn't know about. At least that's what I hope..." He didn't want to say what he was thinking around normal officers and the new recruits. The normal officers and soldiers couldn't hear it because it was "top-secret" (not exactly the right term do to all the mishaps that happened around it) and he didn't want to frighten the new recruits. The new Team Alpha had just come out of training; this was their first mission. He prayed it wouldn't be a disaster like other missions he had been on.

"What is it Admiral?", asked James. James had assumed the leadership and assault role for the new Team Alpha. Amy looked upon him with pride; he reminded her of himself from earlier years, back when she didn't have a care in the world and would take down anyone that said one wrong word about her.

"N-Nothing son, nothing. You and your team should get some rest before we get there. It may be a tough mission, what with all those trees and mountains and all" In his heart he knew that wasn't what would make it difficult. He had a feeling there was something more; much more....

Many of the marines studied the new Team Alpha as they walked down the hall to their quarters. All 8 of them were decked out in MK VII MJOLNIR armor, helmets off so that they could hear each other's voices, each one standing at about 6 feet tall. They were a motley crew consisting of radically different people. James, the leader, wasn't much for talking, preferring to think things out. Katelynn, the stealth expert and second-in-command, was all about action and loved to tease Nicholas. Nicholas was the sniper/recon/decoy man, but he had an unbelievably large amount of good luck. Clayton and Devyn were brothers, though they didn't seem like it. Clayton was all about the vehicles, especially the big ones, and he loved to modify them. Devyn on the other hand, was a heavy weapons specialist and could always be found with something explosive. Jake and Samuel were cousins, but they had to be the closest relatives in the entire UNSC. The two of them were never found apart. Jake would handle the weapons, while Samuel would drive a small, quick vehicle of some sort that Jake could ride shotgun. Amy was now a mentor for Team Alpha; she no longer took place in any battles. She had vowed to never fight in a battle again and she intended to keep that vow. But she had taken a special liking to these kids, even if it was only because they were the children of her fallen comrades, especially James and Katelynn. One of the sad truths of these kids was that they didn't know the truth about their parents. They knew that if they knew the truth about their parents then they would become targets of the enemy. So it was kept from them and from the public. They were told the semi-truth that their parents had died in battle when they were very young, though this was not true since they were all about 17 and the parents had only died two years before.

"James", said Amy, stopping the boy in his tracks. She was the one person he respected on his own free will. "Come here, I want to show you something". She led him into her quarters onboard the Thermopylae, which was now her ship, and went over to grab a small chest. "I've been working on this for the past two years", she said, opening the chest. Katelynn, nosy as ever, silently walked into the room. "You could have knocked", said Amy. "How did you know I was here?", asked Katelynn. "I was trained with your and his parents around me. I would know if a pen dropped in the vacuum of space!" They snickered at this. She always exaggerated everything, but they didn't care. "You can come and see as well. After all, in a way, this is related to you". From the chest, she pulled a small chip and inserted it into the nearby holo-pad. Out of it popped a young lady's figure. Her appearance was that of a 17 year old girl. She was red and black, with hair going to her shoulders only. "I guess, Katelynn, she's almost like your sister", Amy said, "I made her from the remains of Clyde's programming after he was destroyed in the Battle of the Satellite. She was programmed after your mother, Katelynn." Nichole opened her eyes. "Hello. I'm Nichole. What am I supposed to do? And who are you three?" "Don't worry, I'll answer all your questions. These two are James and Katelynn, they'll be your squadmates." She turned to James and Katelynn. "Run along, you two" They left, but as they went they heard Nichole start barraging Amy with questions. "I think Amy might have bit off more than she could chew", said James. "I think so", answered Katelynn.

Lordofmonsterisland "Roar to me"

[edit] 2

"Spartan Team Epsilon, we need you to give the planet some backup, and just like old times, SPARTAN-069 will go too." Captain Regan said, he was presumed dead at the incident on Jimiro. Discovered to escape the boarded ship, now captain of the UNSC Blackout.

The Spartans stayed put, knowing that they were facing the unknown. SPARTAN-069 also known as Edward-069, stays with the squad at all times, ever since his team got devoured by the flood, so far he has survived the war, but he had a gut feeling that something was going to happen.

"Get in that Albatross! Those things need a face fulla lead!!" SPARTAN-G025 ordered to his team. The Spartan team obeyed and entered the Albatross.

"Hmmm,"

"You ok Ed?"

"I just got a gut feeling that this is my last mission."

"Dispatch the 34th Aibone division to the surface and the 3 armored regiment."

The Battlegroup Canada have now make contact with other unit of the UNSC.

The 70 year old admiral, decorated from years of battles, looked out on upon the planet. He called Lieutenant AJ Lewis to the bridge.

"Sir, you needed me?" asked the young lieutenant, vetran of many battles. He came from a military background and his CSV was impressive. "Lieutenant, you and your hellcats take off and prepare engage enemy forces" said Admiral Valentino. The lieutenant did as he was ordered.

In docking bay 32, AJ looked out at his squadron taking off into the deep, dark vaccumm of space. "It's going to be a long battle" said the Lieutenant, talking to his co-pilot. He prayed and stepped aboard Hellcat 23, his trusty longsword. The Yamato was going into battle again.

In the crew quarters room, Major Gregg Woods got him and his ODSTs ready to hard-drop to the surface. The suited up in their newly supplied SPI-II armour and they climbed into thier Orbital Insertion Pods. Usually with these things, a lot of ODST's would die. Not this time. The maintenance department on the Yamato fixed some of the problems with the pods and had extra heat and drop protection on them.

Inside of his pod, the major screamed: "FEET FIRST INTO HELL MEN!" and with that, the Yamato deployed an entire regiment of ODST's onto the planet's surface.

Colonel Anthony Carr, a former Spartan-I, looked out into docking bay 86. Almost his entire divison, including him self, would be sent to the surface following the ODST's. The Marine Division was eqquipped with its own Pelicans, Sparrow Hawks, and Hornets. They were to be deployed to the surface and set up a base of operations. He looked out at thier young faces. He remembered his first day in the UNSC Marine Corps. Now, it was thier chance to shine. Many were veterans of the 1st and 2nd Battles of Earth. Now, they, millions of light years away from Earth, were going to be deployed onto the surface on an unknown planet. He climbed into the Pelican and began his speech: "Today, you all are part of one of the largest Marine Insertions in history..." His speech faded off into space. It inspired the young marines to do the best they can. They left the Yamato as the watchful eyes of Admrial Valentino watched over them. AJ

[edit] 5

As the ODST's hit the surface, the ground was scorched by the intense heat. They had landed in a clearing somewhere on the planet. The clearing was very large, large enough to support a Field Headquarters. Major Woods ordered his ODST's to spread out and secure a perimiter. In the back, some of the ODST's brought out Flamethrowers. They were to clear out the flora and fauna to create a LZ for the Marines. They got to work immediately bringing out mobile radios, some Warthogs, and about 30 Mongooses. The Flamethrower ODST's began to burn out the surrounding forest as they saw the first pelicans and albatrossses coming from the atmosphere.

In the space around the planet, Lieutenant AJ Lewis checked his star map. The planet was some sort of "forerunner" planet and they were to not engage until further orders. The Hellcat squadron circled around the Yamato and waited for more marines to hit the surface. AJ

[edit] 6

The UNSC First Response Fleet exited slipspace right in the planet's orbit. Surprisingly, they noticed a ship already orbiting the planet.

"Identify that ship", ordered Fleet Admiral Wilson. "I want info about it, A.S.A.P."

The officers on the bridge quickly came up with the ship's I.D. and everything else about it.

"It's name is the UNSC Yamato, sir", said one of the officers, "It has fought in dozens of battles. Currently lead by Admiral Robert Valentino."

"Valentino, eh? Very well, open a channel." The COM officer opened a channel for Wilson to speak with Valentino. "Admiral Valentino, this is Fleet Admiral Jim Wilson. I was ordered to command an expedition to investigate the happenings of Ceres. What of you? What is your status?"

"We were also answering the distress signal. We are setting up a command station on the planet. Happy to join you, Wilson."

"Glad to have you Valentino. It's been a long time"

"Yes it has. Valentino, out."

Wilson turned to one of the young officers. "Any other ships in orbit?", he asked.

"Yes, sir. Scanners detect a UNSC Battlegroup a quarter around the planet. 25 ships detected." He paused for a moment, bringing up information. "It's Battlegroup Canada, sir. Should I contact"

"Should I make contact? Is that a question? Of course, make contact!" So he waited for contact with Battlegroup Canada.

"All marines and ODST's, prepare to make an insertion. You will go down in HEV's, Pelican's and Albatrosses and group up with the forces of the UNSC Yamato. Now move!"

Team Alpha began to move before he had even finished. After going through Amy's training, they had figured out how to know what someone was going to say before they said all of it. As James and Katelynn walked by Amy's quarters they noticed she was just finishing up with Nichole. She pulled her out of the ship's mainframe.

"Happy now?", she asked.

"Oh yes, now everything makes sense. So much knowledge." She had a look of glee in her eyes.

"Remember now, some of that info is top-secret. If you start giving stuff like that away I might have to delete all your information and start over. You'd hate that wouldn't you?"

"Don't worry, I won't.", she said.

"Somehow I doubt it. If you'll remember, I knew Clyde and most of his programming was used to build you. I know most of the tricks you could try."

"Fine", she sighed. "Oh, hello James. Hello Katelynn."

"She's a lot like you two." said Amy, "And I mean a lot like you two."

"Hey now", said Katelynn, "What do you expect? She's supposed like a sister for me. You said so yourself."

James just stood there snickering to himself. Then he said, "As interesting as this conversation is, and really I'd let it go on for hours, we need to go. Come on Katelynn".

"Wait, James." said Amy, "You need to take Nichole"

"What?", said James. You could hear the confusion and agony in his voice. Why me, he thought.

"You didn't think just made her as a science project, did you? She's going to be the new Team Alpha's personal AI. Now take her"

He didn't argue, he just grabbed her chip and inserted it into his armor.

"Hmm, nice and cozy", she said, "almost like the Thermopylae"

"Don't get any funny idea's", said James.

And with that James and Katelynn joined up with the rest of Team Alpha and headed for the cockpit of the Thermopylae. Marines and vehicles filled the designated areas and Amy returned to the Annihilator. She would advise them in battle from there.

The HEV's started to rain down on the planet. The Pelicans and Albatrosses were following suit, carrying vehicles and marines down to the planet with them.

"This is the UNSC Thermopylae", said Nicholas. Surprisingly, he was the best pilot, one of the few things he was good at. "preparing to detach."

With that, the Thermopylae detached and decended to the planet below

Lordofmonsterisland "Roar to me"

[edit] 7

Lieutenant AJ Lewis made a pass at the Thermopylae. He remembered from his history lessons that Thermopylae was where 300 spartans and thespians made thier last stand against 12000 Persian Immorttals. They were double crossed and they died becasue of it. "What a bad name for a ship" he told his Co-pilot. They circled around the main flagship of the fleet before returning to the UNSC Yamato. He wondered why they were here and what was down there. The planet looked hospitable and there was plenty of water regions on the planet. He looked up and dissmissed the thoughts of flood. He heard from a Sergeant Johnson that they were horror-show freaks. He continued his patrol pattern and ordered his Co-pilot to arm the missiles. He opened a comm link betweent the Dragon Squadron and his. New orders came in on his screen: YOU ARE TO DEFEND DRAGON SQUADRON AT ALL COSTS. He read the orders and sent them to all of the starfighters under his command. He chuckled. 5 Longswords. It was the smallest Squadron in the entire Navy. But these pilots were different. They all had the toughest training they could ever imagine. They had to send their Fighters onto random slipspace vectors, and at a random time, they were to use Starmaps to find thier position and find thier way back to Mars. Along with other tests, it was hard, but all of them passed. He radioed Admrial Valentino of his current position and force composition.

On the surface, the first wave of Marines landed and started to unload thier cargo. They looked around. The air was indeed oxygen and it looked much like what was on earth. But with one difference. It looked more... alien. They started to make a perimeter of Scorpions. Colonel Carr had a talk with Major Woods. They talked about thier lives and the lives of thier troops. Carr had actually taught Woods when Woods was a Private. Woods went to OCS when he was a sergeant and became an officer. Carr had seen war at its ugliness: The rebels and the covenant. He hoped that this planet didn't have any hostiles on it. He wanted to win this war. Badly. AJ

Rekua 'Arkanee, the one who assisted in saving Toronto, captured by Tarmfurm and tortured, and boarded the Wings of Rukt. Now he has betrayed them, and formed an Alliance of Rebels fighting for thier leadership.

"The residents may be of use, if we convince them to join or Redemption, we will have a chance against those Brutes, and the traitors,"

"Ship Master 'Arkanee, our spies have found something,"

"Show me,"

Mayday, Mayday. This is Ceres base. We need immediate assistance from any UNSC or allied Covenant forces. I repeat we need immediate assistance fromany UNSC or allied Covenant forces. The base is under attack by these strange...things! They are not Covenant, Bujkowe or wildlife, they're like nothing I've ever seen. We will attempt to hold off the creatures as long as we can. Hurry before... aaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!

"These unknown enemy may be of use, in our hands, send our well trained warriors there, and send in my finest,"

The Albatross landed among the surface, with Epsilon Squad emerging out.

"Looks like a rotten piece of bread in a microscope," G023 commented.

"Wataminute! See that!" Edward-069 said,

"What? What do you see!?"

The Orbital Stealth Pods impacted the surface and Team Murmillo came out. They scanned for hostile readings. None. They were sent in to provide support to the allied UNSC and covenant separatist soldiers. In fact they were not even supposed to be in that battle at all. They were to be sent in, do whatever needed to be done, and secretly punch a hole through hostile forces to allow allied forces through. Their first target was the Bujkowe village nearby. It had done some small damage to UNSC forces in the area prior to the attack on Ceres Base. The team reached the villages outskirts. They began to snipe the guards patrolling on the town outskirts. After that they moved to the centre of the town and planted a C-12 charge. They exited the village and detonated it. The villagers came screaming in firight and Team Murmillo took them down using their suppressed MA5Ks. "Fleet Admiral Chow, we have neutralized the target." Said James-G023 over the cross-comm. "Good. There should be another objective appearing on your HUD. Go to it now." Replied the Admiral.

An ODST patrol fromt the UNSC Yamato was out and looking for native inhabitants on Ceres. They kept on marching until they came to a spot where there was a clearing. Then, Private Chin said: "Guys! I hear something!" Sergeant Jacobs told Chin to shut up. Then the Patrol looked up. A glowing hot blob of plasma was heading straight for them. They had no time to dodge it.

Back in Space, Lieutenant Lewis reviewed Ceres' profile. There was a UNSC base here, until it got run over by hostile forces. He was creeped out. Unidentified? dang. He closed the file and slept in his bunk on the UNSC Yamato. The next day was going to be very long. He turned over and started dreaming of his days at OCS. AJ

Finnaly i have escaped that tube, that was meant to restrain me from escaping and taking what is rightfully mine thought the Darkmind as it climbed out of the pod with maybe 100 other contagine forms. The Contagine forms jjumped out and speard out trying to find anything that they could latch on to. They found creatures and 50 Dark Carrier Forms and 50 Combat Forms stood infront of their leader.

"Go and find me a host," said the Darkmind to his new soldiers. The Darkmind had a strange taste, he would not embed himself in the brain of a animal only in something that could stand on it's two feet and talk. Soon a Combat Form came back with a human wrapped in it's tenticles. She was a small girl maybe 14 or 17 years of age, she had blond hair and several scars across her face.

"Do not worry, you have been chosen as my host for the time being, this is a great honour," said the Darkmind in his deep masculine voice as he jumped towards the girl. The girl tried to scream but the combat form had a tenticle across her mouth. The Darkmind hit her exposed arm and melted into it. The only way you could tell that it was there before was a slightly darker spot of skin on her arm. She then went limp and her legs started jerking, then her arms then her head snapped up and she spoke in a deep voice " Now I have a body we will free any like me and then continue the infection of the universe,"

The next day, Lieutenant Lewis got up, got into his naval uniform, and went to go eat breakfast. Breakfast on the ships was better than breakfast in the field he knew, from his days being rescued by the 420th. Breakfast today was steak and eggs. He knew from even more history lessons that the naval crews always had this before a landing. This was also the same as it was...yestertday? He had no idea what was goin on. The entire Marine Force on the ship had gone down the day before. But why today? He wondered. He got his answer soon enough. The Second Marine landing force was going down. The day before, only the first few units could get down due to mechanical faliure on the docking bay doors. He got is squadron together and told them to get ready to go down to the atmosphere. That day, their mission was to take reconnasiance photographs of the Covenant Bases on the planet. Thier longswords were geared up with neumorous cameras and topographic surviellance equipment. He stepped onto the ramp that led to his longsword and took off.

On Ceres, the Marine/ODST base was growing. Exponentailly. They already had a working mess hall, some barracks, a headquarters building, and a field hospital. Major Woods was looking at his force composition. 7 of his men just, dissapeared the day before. They were Chin, Jacobs, Kim, Edwards, Lopez, Worthington, and Vasquez. He had sent them out on patrol the day before... but they never came back. He checked the ever watching STARS drone for any information. It relayed a clip of thier patrol, and subsequent death. But Kims headcam was linked to the STARS drone also. The drone relayed that clip with sound to Woods. It showed something in the forest and Chin seeing it, Jacobs dismissing it. Then the cam veered skyward and a plasma blob was hurtling straight for them. Then the video cut out. He called a memorial service for them and started writing letters to thier families. "Have you located any other flood on this planet," the Darkmind asked one of it's combat forms as it returned from one of it's recon runs. They had found a crate of weaponary and they had taken from it. Now they were ready to free any other Flood that were on this Planet, and then capture it. The Combat form noded one of it's three heads and picked up the Darkmind and put him on his shoulder. The Combat Form then ran at full speed going faster then any normal creature could. As they raced on the Darkmind thought he saw a village or a base, he decided to take care of that later and to focus on the mission ahead. The Combat Form suddenly jumped and the fell down a hole similar to a well. The Darkmind a his minion fell maybe 1000 feet into the earth before the combat form grabed a ledge and then slowly rappeled down the rest of the way. As they reached the bottom they saw something, something blobly and a greenish colour. The Darkmind jumped off the Combat form and went over to touch the Form. As he touched it, It wriggled and began to speak "You are folish human child to come to such a place." As he said that a infection form swarm jumped at the Darkmind. The Darkmind simplely hit away the infection forms and ones that lacthed onto him did nothing and he hit them down and crushed them with his foot.

"You look good Doomind, how long have you been here for?" asked the Darkmind in his deep voice.

"Long enough you have proved that you are a Flood now get me out of this chamber," the Doomind requested harshly.

"Fine be quick to it," said the Darkmind as he called for the rest of his Combat Form. As they came they began digging out of the chamber and soon there was a hole to the surface.

"Now let's infect this planet,"

As the Hellcats blazed the ground beneath them, Lieutenant Lewis checked the map of this planet. There was supposed to be a Covie Base in this sector. There was nothing. But there was something. The evidence of a battle. Plasma Burns, Explosions, and pieces of armor just lying around. But no bodies. That was wierd. They took pictures and set a vector to thier next target. AJ

The soldier ran through the swamps. Dispicable place, the bottom of the forest. The trees of Ceres stretch up for miles on end, and as such, little light reached the bottom. And down there, in those murky swamps, lurked predators that none were supposed to know about.

But this soldier didn't have time to worry about those things. He was the last survivor of the Ceres Outpost. He had run in the middle of the battle, hoping to get out of the forest and await rescue. He went the wrong way. And then he saw a small structure. It was strange looking, with glyphs and such on it, and its' wall were 5 foot thick concrete. He thought he would be safe inside....

He wasn't.

He had run from creatures one of the marines had called "the Flood". They were nasty, horrific creatures that could take over any living being. But what he found inside was something else. Something worse. He never made it out to tell about it. And whatever it was, it escaped into the swamps.

"James, this is Amy, over." Amy was once again checking in on the Team's status. She did it alot.
"This is James. Everything's OK over here.", he said, "How 'bout you guys", he asked the others.
"I'm good", said Katelynn
"We're good two", said Jake and Samuel simultaneously. They liked to do that, though they only got the timing right every once in a while.
"Me three", said Nicholas. You could hear a noise immediately following that was him falling down. "Don't worry, still alive"
"That's a relief", said Amy. That boy's gonna get himself killed, I just know it. "How's the general situation done there?"
"Well, we lost a couple men in the woods, but other than that we're doing fine."
"OK, keep it up. Amy, over and out."
The day before the Thermopylae had landed and unloaded its' marines, Jungle Hogs and AT Eels, giving the troops some extra vehicular muscle. Pelicans and Albatrosses soon followed and dropped off more marines and vehicles, including more Jungle Hogs, more AT Eels, Transport Hogs, Chaingun Hogs, Scorpions and Turtles. The troops had quickly set up the command post and were now sweeping the area, trying to find any evidence as to what had happened to the outpost. If nothing turned up, they would claim the planet for the UNSC. Of course, most of the troops doubted that it would turn out alright, judging by pretty much all previous UNSC situations like this one. It always turned sour, sooner or later. Hopefully later, though James.
"You and me both", said Nichole.
"oh yeah, I forgot you were up there.", said James, "What's the Battle COM got to say?"
"Nothing much. A couple more troopers are missing though.", she paused and James could see that she was analyzing the radar.
"What are you doing?", he asked her.
"I thought I picked something up on the radar. Just for a moment". You could tell she was disturbed by it. James didn't think it was real until Katelynn came up.
"I just got this blip on the radar for just a moment. It was in that direction", she pointed in the exact same direction as Nichole had seen on the radar. In a minute, all of the patrolling members of Team Alpha reported it.
"Let's move in that direction team", James said. He switched the com to the base's signal. "This is Master Chief Petty Officer James D., requesting some reinforcements. My whole team had an unindentified radar blip in the same direction. We're moving to investigate."
"Roger that, sir, we'll send in a couple of Jungle Hogs. Over and out."

With that, the team moved off to check out this mysterious blip.

"This is Dragon Leader, we are scanning sector 43 of the planet, over."
"Roger that, Dragon Leader, we see you. Keep up the good work. Over and out."
"Dragon Squadron had been sent out to check the planet for any sort of signs of what could have happened. While they weren't the only ones, they had the hardest area to check. The mountains.
Now Ceres was mostly one giant forest, with gigantic trees that were miles high. It had some watery spots here and there, and a couple blank patch in between the forest and the mountains. But the mountains were huge, taller than any on Earth or any that Dragon Squadron had ever seen, and they had seen some big ones. And then in between the mountains, there were the canyons. The dove straight down, twice as deep as the tallest mountains, no light reaching the bottom. But what made the mountains difficult to navigate through, even for Dragon Squadron, was the way the mountains stood. They were jagged edge and came up at odd angles. How in the world did they form like this, wondered Dragon-04. oh well, guess it doesn't matter, he thought.
"Dragon Leader, this is Dragon-06. You might want to take a look at this." Dragon Squadron zoomed to Dragon-06's position. And there they saw it. An entire section of the forest in a 10-mile radius, completely obliterated.
"What could have done this?", asked Dragon-02
"I don't know", said Dragon Leader, "but I don't like it. Come on, let's keep searching, I'll radio this in to base"

The Hellcats soon arrived over thier last target. Nothing. But the same thing everywhere. Plasma burns... but no bodies. They turned upwards and set thier engines to escape velocity. This was going to be one long report. Looking back, this this incident sounded just like the stories of flood Lewis had heard. Large battles, but no bodies. He set the thoughts into the back of his mind. He landed his longsword in docking bay 32 and saw the tech guys taking the cameras off the longswords. He reported to the briefing room and gave a full report. AJ 22:01, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Deep, deep between Ceres' surface there was a facility. Filled to the brim with rooms and robots. And in one room, a signal managed to penetrate the security protocols and awaken one of them. 51293 Archaic Chivalry reawakened. His light came on and he began to warm his circuitry. He had been in standby mode for a long time.
"What has happened in my slumber?", he asked on the Sentinel Commanders.
"We received a signal that the Satellite's Hydra broke free.", it said.
"Status on the situation?"
"Reclaimers destroyed the station. The threat was nutralized."
"What of the planet. Anything here?"
"Only recent event of any notice was a landing of was the landing of Reclaimers and other lifeforms. They fought each other and the native wildlife. They were nutralized by unknown means. New Reclaimers have arrived. A small pod crash landed on the planet. It is of our master's creation. No Sentinels were sent out as it was deemed unimportant."
"Well send some out to investigate", Archaic Chivalry ordered, "that's all for now"
He floated along checking the installation and began thinking of his last inspection. How it had all been clean and perfectly working, and how the Flood and Hydra were kept in place, longing to break free. Then he realized, What had happened to the Flood and Hydra? He quickly spun around and sped back to the Sentinel Commander.

After being released from their "sleep," Lambda Squad prepared themselves for the upcoming fight, while their AI, Erebus, performs his duties for the battlegroup. They are onboard the UNSC Spitfire yet again, preparing for another long day. Again.

"This war seems to have no end," muttered the leader.

"I hate to admit, but I agree to that note," said another.

The three other Spartans looked at their fourth member, surprised.

Spartan-132 has been the most bloodthirsty of the team for years, and now, it seems that fighting under Lambda Leader calmed him down some.

"They die the same way all the time," explained Spartan-132 (who's referred to as Dave), "it's so boring."

The third Spartan gives a sigh. "You never stop thinking about slaughter, do you?"

"Doesn't matter," said Dave, "it's my job."

It is all four of the Spartans' jobs to slaughter the Covenant. That's basically all they have been bred for. Killing alien species. --Dubtiger 16:17, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

"What do you mean no bodies?!" Asked Admiral Valentino. "There are no bodies in the pictures sir" said the ONI Officer "There are ALWAYS bodies after a battle, always." said Valentino "But sir, there were none. Just armor and plasma burns sir" "Wait, those scars look like the same craters formed by LOTUS Anti Tank mines" "Yes sir but," "How would these creatures get thier hands on weaponry like that?" "I have no idea sir" And that ended the conversation. Lotus Anti-tank mines? thought Valentino. The entire base on this planet was wiped out. Maybe some one survived? No thought Valentino. That was impossible. He left the ONI guys to let them do thier work

"With all due respect, sir. I was expecting to be brought online pre-Shaw-Fujikawa transition. Not 3 hours after." As Will as his dark robed avatar appeared on Holotank 2. "Also I was expecting an immediate military threat to this Fleet"

"Then I guess you should be happy to be disappointed" Fleet Admiral Jim Wilson grimly responded

"I suppose,sir. But..."

"Planetary Analsys," Admiral Wilson Ordered.

"Specroscopic analsys proves inconclusive. Infared is useless. UV too. We're pretty much blind here, sir. requesting permission to bring the ship into a higher orbit?" The A.I asked the Admiral, who in turn, replied with a subtle nod. "Sir, getting something. Alert! Losing power across the board! Orbit is begining to degrade, sir!,"

"Report!"

"I, I, I dont know, sir. Wait, getting something. Admiral, some creature has attacted itself to the main drive and power conduits. Its draining power. Profile matches..." Will as silenced, his holo dissolved. and the bridge lights dimmed.

Fleet Admiral Wilson stared at the image of this monstrousity attached to his ship..."What Is IT?" MIL AI 2430

[edit] 21

Fleet Admiral Wilson stared at the image. It was a large, bluish semi-blob with large wing like structure. It appeared to be made of a gel like substance. It had managed to attach to the ship's main drive and caused the ship to fall out of orbit down to the planet below.
"Emergency", Wilson said on the Fleet COM. He had to alert all forces of their situation immediately. "The Annihilator is losing orbit. We are under attack from a... creature, unknown classification. It is draining power from the ship. We will be crash-landing, 200 miles south-southeast of the base camp. Send reinforcements."

The ship was soon on the planet's surface, and the marines and ODST's swarmed out, moving towards the entity. They found it, partially squished under the Annihilator, and opened fire. It managed to slip out and began attacking the marines. Most of them had the question of What is this thing? in their heads right about then.

Team Alpha moved in closer to their destination. They kept getting that same radar anomaly, getting closer all the time.
"Beta Boys, this is James. You got anything?"
"Nada", said Beta 1, Jake.
"Nuttin'", said Beta 2, Samuel.
"Keep searching", replied James. "Anybody else?"
"I'm closing in", said Clayton. He had managed to catch up with them after they requested assistance. "Moving in"
"Be careful", said Katelynn. "Don't kill yourself"
"I never do" Then he moved in closer. It was dark all around him. He couldn't see very far, even with his night-vision. Then he instinctively ducked to the right, and as he turned around, a spear flew by his head. When he looked, he saw what appeared to be a Bujkowe soldier, more spears in hand, but something wasn't right. It was looked like it was covered lightly in a bluish slime and its' head was pushed over to the side slightly, with a large red glow coming from it. A small pulge was on the side that the head was not pushed over, with slime and something that looked like small jellyfish-like tentacles coming out. It also had some of these small tentacles on each wrist. Clayton viewed all of this in a few seconds and then opened fire.
The other's heard the gunfire and rushed in to assist. Clayton had his hands full as this strange Bujkowe was extraordinarily fast, strong and resilient to gunfire. As Katelynn and James moved in to engage at close-range, but had to dodge as the tentacles rapidly enlarged to 15 feet, trying to attack them, before reverting to their several inch long state. Jake, Devyn, Samuel and Nicholas attacked with their various weapons as the beast easily dodged. It then went up to Nicholas, who had taunted it, and grabbed him, preparing to strangle him. As it held him down to the ground though, Clayton came up from behind, got the creatures attention, and blasted its' head clean through with a shotgun, narrowly missing Nick's head.
"What was that?!", Nicholas asked. He wasn't good with near-death experiences yet.
"I'm not sure. Let's take the body back to the base and have them examine it.", suggested Katelynn.
As they prepared to return to base, they heard a distress signal over the COM. "Emergency. The Annihilator is losing orbit. We are under attack from a... creature, unknown classification. It is draining power from the ship. We will be crash-landing, 200 miles south-southeast of the base camp. Send reinforcements."
"We have to go help them!", said Katelynn.
"But we could never get there fast enough", said Nicholas.
Then, almost as if it was to reprimand Nicholas, the Jungle Warthogs they had requested arrived. The Team jumped into the various open seats.
"To the Annihilator's crash sight", ordered James. "Step on it"

Fleet Admiral Wilson awoke in the crash and pulled himself together. What happened? he wondered. Then it all came back. They'd crashed because of that... thing. He prepared to leave, grabbing his M90, but before he did, he grabbed Will's chip and plugged it into his neural port.
"Still alive?", he asked Will.
"Of course, sir. It takes more than that to take me offline."
"Good. I'm going to need you to do some analyzing."
The Fleet Admiral rushed to the nearest exit, a gaping hole in the ship's outer hull caused by the crash, and there he saw the beast. The beast had changed some of its' shape during the battle. The wing-like appendages were gone and many leg-like stubs now protruded from the bottom. More than a dozen tentacles had also sprouted from its' sides and it used them to swing at the marines, effectively killing them.
"Will, analyze it.", said the Fleet Admiral as he engaged the beast, "See if there's a weak point."
After thinking for what was an eternity in the middle of a battle, Will answered the Fleet Admiral. "The large, red dot. That's its' central nucleus. Its' like a brain. Take it out to kill it."
"All forces, fire on the red dot.", ordered the Fleet Admiral. The forces began to fire on it, but the bullets didn't penetrate very far. Just then, an entourage of Jungle Hogs drove up, with Team Alpha stepping out of almost every one.
"We heard you could use some help." said James.
"It be helpful.", said Amy as she emerged from the ship. "Didn't I teach you to come faster than that?", she jokingly asked. Then she got serious. "Change your Alternator Rifles to Rocket Modes and fire on the red dot. Now take it down." The team immediately obeyed and all forces fired on the beast and, with all the coordinated fire from Team Alpha, the marines and ODST's and the Jungle Hog's Gauss Cannons, it went down fast, just without the central nucleus.

After the battle, repairs began on the Annihilator and a second command was set up at its' crash site.
As a team of scientists studied the body of the beast, they noted that it was unlike anything they had heard of before, and they knew about top-secret things. But upon examining the DNA, they managed to figure out what it was.
All the important figures of the UNSC forces gathered together in a command tent. The lead scientist got up to speak, "Ladies and gentlemen", he said, "We have managed to determine what this creature is. After searching the UNSC's top-secret database, we discovered a DNA match between this and a group of lifeforms found almost two years ago on the Forerunner installation called the Satellite. These creations were accidentally unleashed by a UNSC ship when they docked to investigate the station. UNSC and allied Covenant forces moved in to assist. The Covenant called these creatures "the Hydra". The station was destroyed in the subsequent battle. Those on the station were thought to be the only specimens of the species. But during the battle, a signal was emitted from the station. The UNSC North Star was sent to check out the signal. They landed on this planet and set up camp. The base that was attacked was made up of the crew of that ship, only all of the afformentioned things about the Satellite and such was made classified information. But it turns out that the creature that attacked the Annihilator was a Hydra. A more startling discovery though is that the odd Bujkowe that attacked Team Alpha was a Hydra-infected Bujkowe."
"Then we're going to need reinforcements", said Amy. "I was at the Battle of the Satellite. I saw what kind of destruction and chaos the Hydra are capable of. They were worse than the Flood were, and I've fought many, many battles in which I had to deal with the Flood. But the Hydra were different. They always have a purpose, unlike the Flood that need a leader. The Hydra prefer a leader, but they are much more intelligent. Of course, the Hydra can't infect everyone and everything like the Flood can. There's some sort of specifications. I forget, I heard it in the ramblings of a Monitor that had been taken over by the Hydra. He served as their leader on the Satellite. But another thing is that if there are Hydra, then there are going to be Sentinels. Just like the Flood needed guardians, so did the Hydra. We need to find the center of the Hydra infestation and stop it, now. But call for reinforcements first."
"That would explain some things then", said Fleet Admiral Wilson, "I've seen the Hydra before, but never pre-infection. Only as zombies. How big of an infestation do you think we have, doctor?"
"We don't know yet", said the scientist, "But probably very large"
"Will", said Wilson. The AI popped up immediately. "Get to work on probing the planet. We need to find the center of this Hydra hive. Fast. Now get to work."

Lieutenant Commander Lewis was knocked out of his sleep by the sound of a klaxon. He rushed to the crew ready room in his flight suit. Admiral Valentino ordered his squadron to rush to the surface in thier longswords and provide cover for the UNSC Annihilator. He ran to docking bay 32 and ran into his longsword. Him and his co-pilot was the first starfighter in space. They set thier engines to maximum velocity and headed for the surface.

At base camp, Colonel Carr ordered the 1st Battalion of Marines to head to where the Annihilator crashed. They needed support. Badly. They got into thier warthogs and brought 4 scorpion tanks with them. After they were to secure the crash site, they were to call in pelicans to pick up the survivors. There was only one problem. An army of Bujkowe stood in between them and the crash site. AJ 21:53, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

"Vultures, get into attack formation. Stay close and follow my lead" Ordered the Vulture Commander. His name was unknown, his age, his entire identity. He remembered when he was in the UNSC. Doing this stuff legally. As they exited slipspace, they assumed attack formation. They headed toward the UNSC Yamato. They had to take a look. He knew his "brother" was on this ship. His active camouflage was on and as he flew past the Yamato, a Longsword passed over him. He saw the ship and him and his squadron flew back to Asteroid KB-27, otherwise known as "Vulture Base"

Back at Vulture Base, the former Captain Frank Holstrom got a cup of coffee. He remembered OCS, when he first met Lewis. They became best friends. Until the UNSC double crossed him and his squadron. He hated that. They were double crossed by an Admiral in the 22nd Fleet. Supposedly the 112th Fighter Squadron payed him and HIGHCOM to start shooting at them so that they could get the glory in a battle. Him and his squadron never regretted leaving the UNSC ever since. They had helped the UNSC in neumorous battles. He inspected the Nuclear Warheads. Still in working condition he thought. He met with Vulture 2, formerly known as Commander Grace Walker. They inspected thier Katana Class Starfighters and went and watched thier "viewing screen" AJ

Omega Stealth Squad had heared the crash, responed to the crash, helped fight off the Hydra and then met the delightful members of Team Alpha. Then after the landing zone had been clear they were sent on recon, We always have to leave base, i guess that just a condition if your a Stealth expert Thought Taiyo as the continued to carefully walk along the campony of the forest.

"This is a nice place, minus the things trying to kill us," Joey said as they continued walking. The squad didn't reply because everyone knew the answer, no.

"Hold it Taiyo, 4 o'clock 50 feet below, looks like a carrier form but it's black in colour, wait this is bad, Marine squad on your nine walking straight towards it, hurry" said Kayne throught the comm, he was watching them with his sniper. The rest of Omega S Squad then tried to get down but the branchs but they were to thick and they got caught in the tangling vines and could only watch helplessly as the marine squad walked straight into the dark carrier form. They shot it and it exploded shooting out 30 black infection forms which then jumped on the 7 marines and they transformed them into black combat forms. As the new combat forms ran form the site of the small fightone paused long enough for Kayne to take the shot and blew right through the Black Combat forms bodykilling the Infection form inside. Omega S Squad then untangled themselves which took around 20 minutes and jumped down to the floor of the forest.

"Better take that back to the camp to get it studied never seen flood like that," said Kayne through the comm. As Taiyo reached to pick it up it started to squirm, then it completely melted into the shadows. Not the ground but the shadows.

"That was strange," said Taiyo as he turned and to go back to base to report. Of course i've seen weirder thought Taiyo as the ran back to base.

The first battalion moved swiftly through the jungle. Then they hit a snag. An army of Bujkowe attacked and ambushed them. The Marines didn't know how to react. It was either shoot back or laugh. Many did both. The Marines annihilated the Bujkowe with 50 losses. They continued on to the crash site. Then, one of them saw something in the jungle. They stood back and readied thier Battle Rifles. Then, the being decloaked. It was a member of the Omega Stealth Squad. AJ 00:23, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Honorary Major Jace Williams sat in the cockpit of his Broadsword, assesing the damage that had been done to it. The shields were damaged, but those were an easy repair. The engines were fine, but the stabilizers that allowed for it to manuver were slightly damaged, so his manuverability would be limited. Slipspace drive was running, and were damaged quite alot. He doubted that the rest of the squad and him would be able to escape. He was at half ammunition in his 180mm rotary cannons, but it wasn't worrying him. he still had millions of rounds. He had three ASGM-11 Missiles left, which was something he wished he had more of. He had Scorpion Anti-Tank missiles as well as a backup, and had thirty of those.

"Jace, my status is yellow. What's yours?" came the voice of his second in command, Lisa Mill.

"Same, half at the 80s, three levins, thirty scorps." Jace said back, and looked at his slipspace readout, which stuck out like a sore thumb in the Broadsword.

//Entry Vector Confirmed// //Time Table Confirmed// //Time of Arrival Confirmed// //Time of Arrival: May 17th, 2526, 1800 Hours// //Time of Arrival: Three minutes from current time// //System: Unconfirmed//

Looking up from it in shock, Jace keyed his comm to the rest of the squadron.

"Alright people, we're emerging in three minutes to an unknown and possibly hostile system, get the rotarys into place and arm the 'levins, get your shields up to as high as you can, and get you sensors ready for an immeidate scan of the place once we emerge!"

Jace did as he himself instructed, and watched the timer count down.

//Time of Arrival: Ten Seconds// //Time of Arrival: Five Seconds// //Time of Arrival: 1 Second//

Jace was thrown backwards into his seat as the explosive force of the slipspace exit hit the tiny little craft. Jace rocked around, and when he opened his eyes he saw stars....and something that he hadn't seen for four years. UNSC Capital Ships.

"This is Ex-Major Jace Williams of the former 112th Naval Squadron, hailing the flagship of this fleet; please instruct me on what the heck is happening."

On the bridge of the UNSC Metal Sovereign, Admiral George Walter paced around the room. They had taken a mostly blind jump in the direction of civilized space, and now he was getting worried. Eight months in slipspace could do that to a man. After all, ever since they had nearly been wiped out in 2552, they had been jumping around the galaxy for who knows how long, going everywhere, but neverfinding a hint of UNSC and covenant forces, unless you count the remains of a planet that had been glassed.

"Engineering, how are the engines doing?" asked Walter as he passed the engineering console.

"Running hot sir, core meltdown in eight weeks." the man manning the console replied, and Walter steered away.

"Navigation whats our course?" he asked as he passed.

"Sir, unknown vector, but we'll be emerging--"

He didn't get to finish his sentence. The world suddenly changed, and the Sovereign was rattled. Walter fell to the floor, and when he looked up, something astound greeted him. Ships upon ships of UNSC ships.

"Get me a channel with them five minutes ago!" he bellowed, and the whole bridge exploded into movement.

Upon the deck of UNSC Spitfire, three Spartans stood to the side on the bridge, watching as crew members jog around the bridge, giving reports, updates, and whatnot as the battle rages on. The squad has been waiting for the last 20 minutes for a potential weakness in the UNSC's battle plan for them to put a cork in. The fourth stood alongside Fleet Admiral Chow as he gives orders to his fleet.

Flashback: 2552:July 21st:Defense of Stallion IV, UNSC Controlled Space, Joint Strike Mission

"Good work everybody, especially the 112th" said Vulture Leader

"Thank you Captain" said Demon Leader

"OH CRAP! I JUST FIRED A MISSLE! DEMON 4, EVASIVE ACTION!" said Vulture 8

The missle impacted Demon 4's Starfighter. Luckily, He lived. But unluckily,

"Fire on the Traitors! Don't let them escape!" said Fleet Admiral Carl Harper of the 22nd Fleet

"Vulture Squadron, follow me! The UNSC has double crossed us! Follow Me!" said Vulture Leader

Captain Frank Holstrom awoke from his dream. It was a nightmare. He always wondered: why would the UNSC double cross them? The question always bothered him. It was an electrical short circuit on the longsword Vulture 8 piloted. Didn't they know that? He wondered. He went and got some sleeping pills and went back to sleep. AJ

Deep within a pit in the bowels of the planet, considered safe by the Forerunners, lay a great beast. The room was once kept at absolute zero temperature, so as to keep the creature in a stasis, safe for study. But now, he had reawakened and was free. but he stayed in the pit, controlling his forces from there. And in that pit, as seemed to befit insane leaders, he quote an ancient poem he had constructed over his millenia old lifespan.

"Long did I wait....And long did I plan....To rule this planet....Of tree and mountain....The end has come....My time begun....I will rule all....Everything, everyone"

On and on the poem dragged, as the great Hydra commander Blackheart sent his spawn to take over all of the planet.

"Darkmind, how have your forces done in their work?", questioned Doommind. While Doommind had at one time been a great commander with an army of Flood forms at his command, he now settled to command through Darkmind, as his own form was still less than awe-inspiring.
"We have many of the native Bujkowe infected.", replied Darkmind, "Some of the humans are now ours as well"
"Good, soon the planet will be ours, and then, the universe!"
Evil laughter soon filled the pit that they were in. The future brood ill for the planet....

A UNSC Cruiser appears out of hyperspace above the planet. It enters the atmosphere and hovers in low atmosphere gravity. For a while everything is calm from the ship. Then an archer missile is fired from the ship and hits the ground close by the UNSC troops. Hundreds of Pelicans begin descending upon the planet. many crash and flood pour out. Soon, a dark gold spec could be seen coming from the ship. The cruiser continues to fire on the UNSC. Kebath 'Holoree 02:29, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

As Darkmind and Doommind filled the pit with their evil laughter, they heard noises and felt a presence of more Flood.
"Darkmind!", said Doommind, "Go! Find these new forces and bring them under our control!"
"Yes, Doommind!", Darkmind replied and sped off with his Dark Forms to ally these new Flood with himself.

Chieftain Tekciw had his hands full. The Bujkowe didn't believe in his leadership abilities any more. After a year, he still had not defeated the "outer beings" and now he could not contend his these new beasts that had appeared and start controlling the minds of his people. These small, blue beasts would latch onto a Bujkowe's face and then they would become covered in blue slime and attacked their own forces. And now, these beasts had besieged Aprih Village. He didn't know how long he could hold his forces together. He would do hold them together bravely as long as he could.

"REPORT!", yelled Fleet Admiral Wilson. They had the Annihilator back in space for barely an hour and combat had begun.
"Sir, a UNSC ship has appeared out of slipspace and has begun attacking our forces. Orders, sir?" "Will!", yelled Wilson. The AI appeared before him immediately. "Ready the guns!"

Down on the planet, the UNSC forces were in chaos. A UNSC ship had appeared and started bombarding the base and now Pelicans had come raining down and released Flood onto the planet. Many of the marines scattered, some into the forest, some into the mountains and some, unfortunately, into the swamps deep under the trees.
Team Alpha was out on patrol when all this happened though, but they soon received a message:
"Warning, all UNSC forces on patrol, a UNSC ship has entered into orbit and begun bombarding. Do not return to base, I repeat, do not return to base. Rendezvous with the main UNSC forces at Broken Back Mountain."

Lieutenant Commander Lewis awoke from his dream. It had been 3 days of battles, non stop. He tried to remember his best friend, who at the time of his death, was a Captain. He missed him. They had gone through OCS, flight school, even some of the toughest battles together. But according to the information, Fleet Admiral Harper had all right to fire on them. They tried to down another fighter in the UNSC. Or did they? He wondered. He got up and suited up for another long day of strike missions. He told his pilots in the crew ready room: "Our old rivals are back. The 112th Naval Squadron has arrived."

Formerly Captain Holstrom stood at the base of his stolen Katana Class Starfighter. The Katana was the competetor to the Raiper for the contract. Of course, the Rapier won, but not by much. The Katana was outfitted with slipspace drives and could carry 5 Nuclear Missiles. Of course, they only had 5 at the base. The Katana was the plane they used to save hundreds of UNSC pilots with. If Captain Holstrom was arressted, he would be sentenced to death for Traitorious Deeds against the UNSC, Stealing UNSC Military Equipment, and Stealing Nuclear Materials. But, for saving the UNSC Pilots, they may let him off. Maybe life. But he set the thoughts aside and got a cup of tea.

Back on the ground, the Marines were engaged in a fierce battle. These creatures were attacking them. They looked like spit blobs with red stuff floating in them. The marines even had to shoot some of thier own men because they were infected. Amazingly, the colonel didn't get infected when one jumped on him. Many of the guys wondered why that happened. He had no Borens Syndrome and the whole Orion Project was Top Secret. The battle raged and the Major called for reinforcements.

At Vulture Base, the former Commander Zake Avalonch otherwise known as Vulture 4, was monitoring the radio. Then he picked up a distress signal from Ceres. The Squadron scrambled thier Katana and Broadsword Fighters. They exited slipspace in Ceres' Atmosphere.

On the Ground, the Colonel looked up. Then, 10 unknown fighters appeared over the base camp. The fighters turned and started to napalm the surrounding forest. Then the fighters used Close Air Support and cleared out most of the hydra. The Colonel didn't know who they were. But they seemeed to be the answer to his prayers. They had pushed back the hydra. For now.

Vulture Leader told Former Lieutenant Commander Ray Watson otherwise known as Vulture V to nuke the part of the forest where the hydra were coming out of. He did as he was told. One Tactical Nuclear Warhead detonated and cleared out an entire forest. Nothing was left. But the Marines survived. They turned toward space and entered slipspace going to Vulture Base.

Dragon Squadron soared down into the atmosphere. All fighters had been assigned the duty of making sure no more Pelicans, Albatrosses or any other type of aerial vehicle landed on that planet. And they planned to carry that duty out....
"Alright Dragons, this is it", said Dragon Leader, "We gotta make sure that nothing gets on that planet 'cept our boys, so let's teach these Flood a lesson!"
"Yahoo!!", shouted Dragon-03 as he barreled through enemy fighter squadrons, taking them down with missiles that he launched with their target behind them. It may have seemed crazy, but it made the enemy think they were safe right before they died.
As Dragon-06 began to battle off several Longswords that had emerged from the ship, he said "This is where the fun begins"
"Dragon Wing 1, engage those Albatrosses. We don't need them getting any vehicles to the ground. Dragon Wing 2, cut around and flank the fighters, giving support to Wing 1 all the way. I'm aiming for the engines on that ship. Move!"

The Hellcats followed in suit of Dragon Squadron. They had been assigned to protect Dragon Squadron; it was their duty, their mission and they planned to do it. But when the Dragons split their squadron, they were momentarily confused on what they should do. This was discarded when the leader of the Hellcats, AJ Lewis, bellowed over the com
"Look alive people! Fighters 2 and 3, follow Dragon Wing 1! Fighters 4 and 5, look out for Dragon Wing 2! I'm going to give support for Dragon Leader! Now, go, go, GO!!"
With that, the Hellcats broke up. Fighters 2 and 3 moved in to give Dragon Wing 1 a hand taking out the Albatrosses and Pelicans. Fighters 4 and 5 flew next to Dragon Wing 2, trapping the fighters and giving the other Hellcats some support. All in all, it was working out well.

Dragon Leader streaked towards the UNSC Frigate. It was large, but not without a weakness. He recalled the words once spoken by Sergeant Johnson during the First Battle of Earth, "We all run the simulations; they're tough but they ain't invincible". Of course, he had been talking about Scarabs, not UNSC Frigates, but the same truth applied to them as well.
Several fighters appeared behind him from out of nowhere. He served and spiraled but couldn't shake them. Suddenly though, another fighter fired on the squadron behind him. It then flew up right besides him. As Dragon Leader looked over, he noticed a human pilot inside.
"Looked like you could use a hand.", said AJ, "I think I got here just at the right time"
"A little earlier wouldn't have hurt nothing", Dragon Leader jokingly replied, "Give me a hand with the engines on this thing"
"Yes sir!", said AJ as both the fighters sped towards the Frigate. They blasted any Flood fighters that got in their way, covering each other the whole flight.
"OK, we're in range. Release SHIVA's!", ordered Dragon Leader. 6 SHIVA warheads streaked forward, crashing into the Frigates engines sending it crashing to the planet.
"Yeah, we did it!", yelled AJ
"Good, now let's go give our squadmates a hand"

The Vultures were en route to Ceres. Thier mission was to aid the UNSC against the Flood. In a few of thier battles, the flood were their primary enemy. Now the UNSC, Covies, and everybody else were being attacked by flood. As their Katana Class Fighters exited slipspace, they set their engines to 90% thrust as they turned towards Ceres. They got a glimpse of a battle of thier radar. The signitures aligned to a destroyed cargo ship and about 30 longswords and broadswords. They turned and got into the fight. First, they had to find out who was flood and who was UNSC. Over the radio, Captain Holstrom heard a voice he hadn't heard in a long time. Lieutenant Commander AJ Lewis. He refused to speak for revealing his identity. They helped the Hellcats and the Dragons engage the Flood Vehicles. When Lewis asked thier names, he said only 2 words: "You know" and they fired thier slipspace engines to max as they headed back to Vulture Base. AJ 01:44, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

"Lambda Squad, we are pulling back out. Erebus, I'm transferring you to the Master Gunnery Sergeant's datapad. You are to continue providing radar information for the team," ordered Lambda Leader.

The four, fortunately, were on their own Mongooses, therefore are able to break off the battle-group without slowing them down. Before the Master Sergeant knew it, "I guess I'll be working with you" came out of the communications set. "MIL AI 8329, Erebus, at your service."

Lambda Squad, as said in the warning, rendezvous with other UNSC personel at Broke Back Mountain, their landmark nickname. The B.B.M. (as shortened by Lambda Squad) is actually something of a valley. On the outside, it looks like a mountain missing its peak, thus "broke back" was coined to it.

"It's the L.S!" exlaimed a UNSC Marine as the four mongooses pull up to disembark.

"I need to speak with the one in charge of the air support," said Lambda Leader, turning towards the UNSC Marine who pointed himself out.

"Follow me, sir," replied the marine, gesturing the four Spartans towards mountainous slopes.

After the Flood-controlled Frigate was taken down, many of the Flood forces were eliminated before they could get away. Unfortunately, at least half of them managed to get into the swamps at the bottom of the forest, making it impossible for air support to take them down. So most of them returned to the base, leaving Dragon Leader and AJ to take on recon duty. Most of the recon was uneventful until the end when they saw something that was both an answer to prayer and a nightmare scenario rolled into one.
What they saw was a sparsely covered area of the forest. But in that area was an ongoing battle between the Hydra and the Flood. But the part that made it both good and bad was that the Hydra were winning. And the way they were doing it was that they were absorbing the Flood! The battle dragged on, but neither Dragon Leader nor AJ could tear themselves away from the strange sight. When it was finally over, the Hydra had nearly doubled in strength. They quickly retreated with no more creatures to absorb.
"We'd better report that back to the Fleet Admiral", said Dragon Leader.
"I'm already trying to make contact", said AJ as they both sped back to the Annihilator to meet with Fleet Admiral Wilson and attempt to explain what they saw.

"Stop," said the Girl standing infront Dragon Leader and AJ. Then she started to run straight at them jumping at the last moment and kicking Dragon Leader straight in the face. When she did this AJ raised his gun to fire at the small girl.

"What are you doing stop at once or i will be forced to shoot," yelled AJ as the girl stoodand looked straight into his eyes. Before he could move a combat form that was entirely black grabed him from behind and knocked the gun out of his hand with one tenticle and with the other binding him to its body.

"I control this flood being so do not do anything or i will kill you and your friend," said the small girl as she picked up the gun AJ was carring.

"Who are you? You don't look like any flood i have ever seen," roared AJ struggling to escape the Combat Forms grip.

"Me i'm the Darkmind and i'm looking for a host, and you look very tasty," said the Darkmind as he neared the Human still struggling to escape the Combat Form who had poked one of it's 3 heads around to see the human. As the Darkmind was in 2 feet of touching AJ, a sniper shot exploded the Combat forms chest. As it fell back the bullet exploded making the body melt into the shadows. The rest of Omega S Squad jumped out from the trees and began to fire on the girl who dodged most of the shots, but several still hit her making the Darkmind flee.

As AJ followed Omega S Squad back to base, Dragon Leader regained conciousness.
"Who, what, where?", said a startled Dragon Leader, "Put me down! What do you think I man, some kind of baby?"
AJ gratefully replied, dropping Dragon Leader to the ground. Dragon Leader got up, pretending to not notice AJ was there. He turned to Taiyo, captain of Omega S Squad and all but demanded to know what had happened.
"Me and my boys saved your butts", he calmly replied, "you both nearly got killed by those things. Kayne sniped the one that had AJ and the little girl ran off."
"Well, at least I know what happened now. What was with that girl anyway, AJ?"
"She claimed to be a Flood commander", AJ replied, "I'm not sure how, since she looked normal, but I guess we shouldn't argue with her"
"Well, I suggest we get back to the base before anything happens", said Dragon Leader, to which everyone agreed.

The Templar were dropped on the surface of the Planet; it was the Vindicator's first battlefield deployment, and he hungered for battle. "Activate your Energy Scythes!" he shouted, and the army behind him followed suit; there was a sort of purple-blue aura from the massive amount of Energy Scythes. "Move out!" he shouted once more, and the Templar moved into one of their first major skirmishes.

"Rather tiresome..." Omega stated as he piloted the UNSC Hephaestus alone; even from this far out in space, the AI could plainly see the damage of the war on Ceres' surface. The massive ship finally landed in a large canyon, and was loaded into an AI data crystal carried by a Combat Form-1. "Let us see the true repercussions of this war..." Omega said plainly, and one of the CF-1s shot down an Aerial Form. "This should be rather easy..."

It had been long since he had last been free to maneuver... it felt good. The Flood and M.E.s that surrounded him stood resolute. As he floated across the vast forest, his soldiers followed him, and not too long after, he saw one of the first lives he would take on the planet.

Onboard the Endless Justice, a transmission was received. It was from a planet far from civilized space and it was under attack by unknown beasts. Its' captain, Jemsal 'Emvadson, considered whether to respond or not. He knew that the outpost was human, but the Elite High Council would likely not approve of sending reinforcement so far out when they could be fighting the Loyalists closer to home.
"Jaig", said 'Emvadson, "relay this message to the High Council with a another attached. In it, state that we are en route to assist them and that we request reinforcements." Jaig immediately started working while 'Emvadson turned to another member of the crew. "Nibesa", he said, "set us on a course to the planet. We will assist our human allies whether the Council approves or not"
So Jemsal 'Emvadson's Squad of Unrelenting Reparation would join the Battle of Ceres, for good or ill.

10km away from the atmosphere of the planet, a slipspace bubble appeared sending large, flaming debris to the surface. "What the? Son of a..." Fleet Admiral Jacob didn't have time to finish. The debris impacted on Capital Base, a secret military base only the ONI class 7 knew about, put there about a year ago. A marine named Hamishi Dudeo went there to confirm the debris. "No.. it can't be" He said. He quickly read the downed Draco's name. It clearly read: THE OBELISK. þ†öW讥 ^ (Fleetcom)(UNSC History)(Mision Log) 03:15, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

The bright aqua color of Contrite Dictum was drowned out by the the darkness of space. Contrite had no idea how long he had been floating the vast stretches of space, but he did know what he wanted; revenge. It's funny to think that a droid could want revenge, let alone know what the concept of revenge is, yet Contrite did know and had succumbed to its call.

Despite the fact he lost all ability to determine time; he could guess that it had been more than a few years since he had any contact with anything living. S it came to his complete surprise when he floated into a region dominated by UNSC cruisers. TBC -- Darth Mavoc 03:11, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

The base at Brokenback Mountain was being set up quickly yet defensively. They would need a good outpost to fight off combined forces of Flood, Hydra and Bujkowe. Team Alpha and Dragon Squadron had helped out as much as possible with every single task that was needed.
As James helped with setting up some of the defenses he thought about all that the members of Team Alpha and Dragon Squadron had done in the past. They had been together for as long as they could remember. They had been told that all of their parents had died in battle when they were young. They had been trained in the various arts of war, each ones specialties differing slightly, and had just recently been drafted into the Team Alpha and Dragon Squadron projects.
As he ended his task, the general who was in charge of the project came up to speak with him. "You do a good job, just like your father", he said.
"My father? You knew him?", asked James. "Yes I did. He was a good man. I was at the battle where he died." "When was that? And how did he die?" "Oh, you didn't know?", said the general with surprise, "It was about two years ago. We had to answer an urgent distress call at an unknown destination in space. We found Hydra there and some type of creature that the Covenant called Nogard. We couldn't stop the enemy, so we had to blow the entire station. Most of our forces died on that station. Your parents, the rest of Team Alpha, Dragon Squadron.... all of them died nobly, trying to get others to safety"
James had a blank and distressed look on his face. The general could to tell something was wrong, not knowing what he had said, and excused himself. James couldn't believe it. Everything they had been told about their parents were total and complete lies. But then, the full force of it hit him.
"All members of Team Alpha and Dragon Squadron!", he bellowed over a COM that covered both their personal frequencies, "We need to have a meeting with Fleet Admiral Wilson and Amy, NOW! Meet me at Brokenback Base HQ A.S.A.P.!!"

Within a half hour, all the members of the two groups had gathered. James explained the situation and all agreed that they needed to have a talk with their mentors. The situation didn't look very good to the onlookers.

As Hamishi ran through the decks or the downed Draco, He couldn’t help but notice all the walls blown out for the attachment of boarding craft. Not Human and... not Covenant, Forerunner Perhaps? No. Forerunner metal was much different. What could it be? He ran through the middle deck noticing the bridge was sealed off. “Hmm. What’s this?” Hamishi said. It was a control pad. He pressed some buttons. Nothing happened. He used a UNSC Override code. “Whatever’s in there, its not in the UNSC. If there is even anything in there.” He Remarked. He looked on the floor. “A tentacle!” He Picked it up and it squirmed back into the crack in the door. “Defiantly not UNSC..” He said. He flipped on his radio: “Help! Help! This is an SOS Calling any UNSC or Separatist who receives this signal.”, he said “Unknown force of flood found on Capital Base. SOS. Coordinates are 46°,62°. I Repeat…” His Radio went dead. He Cursed and went outside to beacon incoming dropships responding to his message. "I rembmer when we fought each other instead of aliens and freaks.", he said to himself. As the combined group of Team Alpha and Dragon Squadron walked inside, all the other officers knew that it was their time to leave. The whole group stared straight at their two mentors. Some say that to see anyone related to any sort of Spartan project glare is one of the most frightening things anyone can see in their life. If so, then Fleet Admiral Wilson and Amy would never call another thing frightening again after having about 20 young Spartans staring them.
"Fleet Admiral, Amy, we need to talk", said James.
Both of them could tell no good could come of this conversation, whatever it may be, but they might as well get it out of the way. "Well, what is it?", asked Fleet Admiral Wilson.
"What's the true story of our parents?", asked James.
"What do you mean?", asked Amy seeing that their work for the past 20 years might rapidly degenerate if she didn't try to stop this conversation from happening.
"You know what we mean.", said Katelynn. "A general mentioned that he had been with James' father when he died 2 years ago! Tell us the truth. We deserve to know."
Amy was about to try to counter this statement when Wilson butted in. "Don't Amy. They aught to know the truth about their parents. And it'll probably help them fight this battle too." He turned to the group. "Your parents were part of the first wave of Team Alpha. There were Edwin and Lisa, James' parents; there was Jerry, Clayton, Devyn and Andrew's parents; there was Marshall and Amy; there was Roy; and there was.." he seemed to have trouble getting these next words out "...and there was Kymberli. All of them served the UNSC faithfully for years and years. But then, two years ago, we received a distress signal from the UNSC Endeavor. It had had to make a random jump to escape the Covenant. It ended up in an asteroid field and had discovered a Forerunner installation the Covenant Separatists called the Satellite. It contained Hydra forces of various forms, and another creature named Nogard. We arrived and tried to defeat the enemies. But we couldn't. Here watch this..." He placed in various chips that recorded the last several minutes of various teams in the Battle of the Satellite. One showed Dragon Squadron engaging Sentinels and Hydra Space forms, before they landed on the station. It then switched between members of Team Alpha as they moved in to set a NOVA bomb. They placed it, armed it and attempted to escape with Dragon Squadron. But a Hydra blockade stopped them from getting out in time and they couldn't even alert the fleet. The NOVA went off, destroying the station, all forces on the station and half the space forces. The recordings then ended and Jim continued. "You see, your parents died in battle with the Hydra. We gave them and the members of Dragon Squadron an extremely spectacular and honorable funeral. Soon afterwards, we recruited all of you to become the new Team Alpha and the new Dragon Squadron."
The group stood there, speechless. Finally, Clayton broke the silence, "why didn't you tell us the truth? Why were we told a lie?"
"We told you a lie at the beginning so that no one would know that you were their children. And after all those years of telling you that, we didn't think we needed to suddenly tell the truth to you all."
"But now", said Amy, "we see the mistake in doing so. We promise not to withhold any other information from you. Any more questions that we can answer?"
The group shook their heads and left, still in some shock from all the information they had just learned.

4607 Contrite Dictum continued floating, this time with a direction. Contrite came to the conclusion that it'd be the best for his own plans to capture a UNSC cruiser. A fuel tube extended right above him, narrowly missing the top of him. Contrite stared as other fuel tubes connected with their designated ships. Hmmm... Must be preparing to leave, thought Contrite, It'd be best if I left with them.

The closest cruiser was the UNSC Manticore. From what information Contrite could prise from the one of the ship's computer tabs in engineering, it was passing by his intended destination, Ceres. A million and one possibilties passed through Contrite's CPU as to how to stop the ship when it came close enough; the best possibility was that which he had originally planned. Contrite's interfacing beam changed to red as it placed one of its many viruses in the power generator's computer network. That should do it, thought Contrite, as he disconnected from the tab. Contrite chuckled to himself, "Yes, everything is going well" and with that he flew off towards the ships CPU. Sharrakor 00:26, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Taiyo stared into the eyes of Team Alpha and Dragon Squadron, they all looked so sad. Taiyo turned away and tried to fight the thing again. It had jumped onto his skin and embeded itself into his arm then he heard a voice bellow in his mind.

"You are a strong willed one Taiyo, but nothing can resist me," the thing said to him as it took control of his body. Taiyo was still aware of his surrondings what his body was doing and he could see out of his own eyes, but he had no control over his own body. His body continued walking till he got to the office where Fleet Admiral Wilson and Amy stood still. If you are wondering Taiyo i am the Darkmind and after i infect your base i will infect everything else said the Darkmind to Taiyo in his mind. Taiyo saw himself saltueing. Then saying "I'm here to make a report,"

Taiyo then heard his now horrible voice talking aout what he was going to report about anyway. The Dark Flood that he had seen, then the worst part came. The Darkmind pulled out a MP5K T5R4 and a M6D maguam and told the two people infront of him

"Don't move,"

Outside the office where the Darkmind was, was choas. A enormus abyss had riped in the ground and Black flood were Pouring out of it, out of the abyss itself gaint tenticles where whiping around hitting soldiers. Black Combat Forms and Soldier forms were jumping out and landing. Normal Flood where coming out of the abyss also attacking all forces around the abyss.

As a great crack opened up in the middle of the camp, Clayton seemed the most upset. "They just had to choose now of all times to attack. Why don't you all just crawl back into that hole and die!!"
He foolishly rushed the large Abyss form only to be knocked against a wall mercilessly. Cindle rushed over to protect him and get him somewhere safe while Andrew and Devyn provide cover fire for the both of them.
"Nicholas, Justin, I need some M41's on those Flood, NOW!! Brittani, Brittany, Erika grab the rockets and try to blow the crevice back in! Katelynn, you stay by me, give cover fire. We're the decoys. Move people, move!"
All of them sprang into action. Nicholas and Justin ducked, dived, rolled and shot their way through the Flood forms to the Warthogs and targeted the large Abyss form, gunning off small pieces on the closest sides with just a few rounds of bullets.
Devyn and Andrew joined the fight as they fired at the Carrier and Combat forms that scampered out of the holes. They tried to take them out before they could reach the marines and ODST's, a few of which were still trying to figure out what was happening. They fired upon each, narrowly dodging the strikes of smaller, more agile forms.
Brittani, Brittany, and Erika had managed to grab the rocket launchers but the Abyss form had hard armor covering most of its' body. They needed to get to the soft top sides to defeat them. "But only a specialist and an idiot could and would do such a thing!", said Brittani.
"Then you'll get one", said Clayton as he walked up. He looked like death worn over from his posture, since they couldn't see his face with helmet on, but he had managed to get up and planned to do it.
"But it's crazy!", said Cindle.
"That's me and my brothers middle names", he said smiling under his helmet. He turned on the squad com, "Andrew, Devyn, it's SPNKR time!!" He heard two satisfied whoops over the com and they both got in close and grabbed the Rocket Launchers. Clayton turned to Cindle one last time, "Don't worry. I won't do anything stupid, sweetheart" And with that he was off on his mission.

The Endless Justice entered the system and even from space the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation could see the signs of battle. Sections of the forests were gone, several bases abandoned and a vicious battle taking place in a mountain-top valley.
"There", said Ketynic, "That mountain. There is a battle between the Humans and strange, black-colored Parasite. Many of these Parasite are forms I've never seen or even heard of before. What should we do Jemsal?"
Jemsal thought for a minute before giving his orders. Then he began giving the orders. "Nibesa, Ank, Jaig, land us in that valley. Jarikus, Samorulan, arm the turrets. Cer Muso Coun and Den Muso Hico, prepare to be the first out, we'll need you two providing assistance at the front. Luzzda, prepare the hatches. Ketynic come with me to the armory."
Jemsal and Ketynic went to the armory and grabbed their equipment and weaponry. They had mostly standard issue weaponry, though a few were special cases such as Jemsal's Plasma SMG's. As the planet entered the atmosphere, all control was given to the dumb AI that would pilot it down and control the cannons. All the crew gathered next to the door to prepare to disembark and engage their enemy.

On the far side of the planet from the fighting of the humans and the dark Flood, there was another force breaking lose from its' unholy slumber. In a pit, buried under miles of dirt and metal lay a great blop of Hydra mass. But this was no mere Hydra. It was a Commander Hydra.
Over the millenia of being trapped there, the Hydra Cell forms had merged and created one form, their commander. He named himself Blackheart. Over the millenia, small creatures had somehow managed to find their way down to the bottom of the pit. And each and every one was consumed into this horror's form. He had now become a horrifying amalgamation of various beast and beings meshed together in a Hydra casing. He was similar to any of the Flood Command forms, but somehow much more menacing. The beast had now achieved near omnipotence and had become spawning smaller Hydra with no loss to his own mass. Some of the other Hydra had already escaped and soon all of his forces would take over the planet, and from there the galaxy....

Contrite glided through one of the cruiser's many engineering shafts, heading towards the CPU. This is quite sad, thought Contrite, No intelligent beings would leave such places unguarded. Unbeknownst to him, a laser trip-wire was directly in his path...

Ten seconds later a few squads of Marines was dispatched to the CPU. Contrite floated beside a grate and looked as Marines patrolled the area. Argh!!!! thought, I had use it sooner or later anyway. As he thought, he remotely connected to the cruiser's power grid. And with that, half of the CPU's lighting went out, casting that half in complete darkness. The marines looked wildly around, as some attempted to turn it back. Whilst the marines were distracted, Contrite flew over to the CPU's access terminal and enter another of his viruses, this allowing him to remove barriers on the amount of energy produced by the power generator in one go. Contrite turned and saw a marine stare at him, his eyes widening in surprise. Before the marine had a chance, the lights that worked flickered and he was thrown across the room, his body hitting the wall at very high speeds. For extra measure, Contrite used his gravity projector and flung the body at the far wall. The marines, seeing the broken body fly, noticed something was wrong and spun around to find the source of his death. All their guns now pointed at the Monitor. Here we go, thought Contrite and chuckled to himself as he shut down, preparing for capture. Sharrakor 00:17, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

The Marines at the Head Quarters were facing a losing fight. Colonel Anthony Carr was firing a pistol at the Hydra and the Flood coming at them. Then, He saw an Infection form flying towards his face. It tried to take over his neural circitry, but, due to his Spartan-1 Augments, it couldn't. He kept on fighting. But, his prodigy, Major Gregg Woods wasn't so lucky. Carr had to watch as the man he had trained and kept as a son being taken over and consumed into these creatures. He fired his prized M6D and killed Woods. Carr continued fighting as the flood and hydra began to close in on the building. SSgt.johnson

A form snuck up on Carr, about to pounce, but it was sprayed with rounds of bullets.

"Contain the forms at the crack. Numbers are great, but give the soldiers time to set up a more suitable defensive system," Lambda Leader calmly ordered his squad.

"Copy." There a Kshnk as a rocket left the SPNK launcher, detonating in the middle of a concentrated group of unusual Flood.

"Get the wounded and dead clear of the Flood!" called Spartan-089, pulling the body of Major Woods with one hand and firing off rounds from a Magnum with the other.

The transport to the naval space fleet will have to wait. There's more work to be down at the HQ.

The Marine Waited and Waited, but nothing. Until.. Heard a sound in the bushes, he repeated his distress call into the microphone mounted into his helmet. “Dear Lord, Can Anyone hear me?” , He Distressed , “HELP ME!”. Then over the trees came a pelican hovering over him. “Thank God it’s you!”, Said Hamishi. Just as he said that the pelican’s engines blew and fell and the pelican flew down beside him. He Cursed as Interstellar Flood Poured out of the pelican. He was going to be DEAD! He Prepared for the attack blow. Just then, out of the bushes came out Ceres forces. The Interstellar and the Ceres fought each other. “What the..?”. He knew one of them was going to win so he picked up an SMG and ran for Shelter in The Obelisk. AJ fired his SMG's. It was a huge battle. He HATED fighting on the ground. He liked fighting in space. Down here, it was different. Up close and personal. It wasn't like he hadn't fought on the ground before; he had been shot down plenty of times. But, this time, it was different. There was flood all over the hill, and the only way to win was to declare a code Badnersnatch and nuke the place. He continued to fire at the flood combat forms that were coming too close.

Back at the UNSC Yamato's ground force headquarters, the building was surrounded. Carr knew what he had to do. He called up the UNSC Yamato and ordered it to bombard the HQ with its MAC guns. It would take 5 minutes. He loaded his last clip into his M6D. He ran outside and fired wildly at the Hydra and flood.

One of the junior officers remembered an escape plan they had made up. She ran down to the basement of the building. The flood were beginning to move into the building. She ran, pulled up the escape hatch and climbed down into a tunnel with a gassed up warthog. She ran back up to where the Spartan's were. They had to escape. AJ

Omega was carried by his loyal Flood forms, and at first sight of the Hydra, took note of their racial statistics. The final conclusion; volatile, but not a MAJOR threat. The CF-1s incinerated them with Defoliant Projectors with ease, being able to destroy every last bit of the creatures in a single arc of flame. Finally, as they neared a Covenant grav-lift, there was a sudden noise, and they were surrounded by more Hydra; it would certainly be a challenge.

He floated in the air, and the Enforcers assembled before him in neat rows of 6. Three in front with Shotguns, three in back with Miniguns. The preciseness of their assembly was almost frightening. Continuing down into the dense, thick undergrowth, he overserved the creatures inhabiting the planet, taking samples, and killing the rest. In the entire hour that passed, only 3 MEs were lost, while enemy dead numbered somewhere in the hundreds. It was indeed TOO easy, and he had yet to see a single Command Form for the Flood.

Minutes passed and the unusual Flood proved to be no match for the excellent precision of the four Spartans, losing ground to the UNSC. More time passes, and the UNSC ground forces manages to contain the Flood and they began pulling out of the location. With some handy equipment, the Flood pressed their attack on multiple energy barriers, to no avail. Sometimes it is best to use something you don't really know much about - those energy barriers were stumbled upon hours earlier in a swampy location, and brought to the base for analysis.

"Objective completed. The UNSC are preparing to bombard the current location. Evacuate immediately," reports Lambda Leader, reloading his pistols.

The other Spartans did not have to acknowledge that - three simple flashes on the HUD of Lambda Leader's helmet confirmed the withdrawal. They followed the rest of the UNSC survivors towards the base, who intent on gathering as much transportable supplies as possible for evac.

Clayton, Devyn and Andrew climbed the cliff face and then continued across pieces of machinery until they were right over the Dark Abyss form. They fired three rockets with extreme synchronization and then fired three more. They reloaded and repeated the process. After a couple more rounds the beast roared and died. The marines and ODST's were filled with hope and fought with renewed strength.
But the Flood weren't done with the Dark Abyss form. About two dozen Infection forms jumped into the Dark Abyss form and revived it. It gave out a Flood warcry, striking fear back into the hearts of the marines and ODST's. Clayton, Devyn and Andrew had run out of rocket ammo.
"What do we do now?", asked Nicholas, watching the whole situation.
"I don't know!", yelled James, "Clayton, Devyn, Andrew, what's the situation? Why haven't you fired?"
"We're out of ammo!", Devyn yelled back.
"Well, think of something before...", he couldn't finished because the Dark Abyss form's head was right beside him. He turned, stared at it and fired. The thing recoiled and almost grabbed him before it was hit by plasma blasts. All the forces turned to look and saw a small Covenant ship, about twice the size of a Phantom, was coming in and bombarding the Dark Abyss form. It soon died, completely ripped to shreds and the humans took out the rest of the Dark Flood while the Covenant ship landed.
Out of the ship came a small Covenant task force and they assisted in clearing out the rest of the Flood from the area.
"Who do you think they are?", Katelynn asked James.
"Haven't a clue, but if they'll save us from the Flood, they're friends to me."

The Colonel killed 20 flood combat forms, countless infection forms, and 50 carrier forms before the MAC rounds started falling. He looked up and that was the last he saw. The sky of Ceres, the birds above. The resulting explosions created a 50 foot crater at the old H.Q. Half of a mile from the base, Lambada Squad got away.

AJ saw the Marines fall. The flood were too much for them. He loaded his last clip into his SMG. Then, he looked up. Above him, 10 Katana Fighters screamed across the landscape. They began to fire missiles and thier chain guns on Brokenback Mountain. AJ

The word captured was uttered upon the bridge of the UNSC Manticore, and, at last, Contrite awoke. His photoreceptor blinked on and he looked around. He was close to this ship's captain's main computer, and this ship's AI. Contrite continued looking around, and noticed that no one knew he had awaken. He silently floated to the computer, and used his physical data transferer on the computer.

As he connected to the bridge computer, the alarms rang (as Contrite had expected) and suddenly all attetention shifted to him. But it's too late for you idiots thought Contrite, as he finished placing his last virus. THe virus got to work and gave him control of every system on the ship. Contrite removed his data transferer, and floated away.

One of the marines closest to him shouted, "Stop right, there!"

Contrite just chuckled, moments before the cruiser lost all power and fell out of slipspace. Contrite turned deep red as he connected to the power grid and communications grid. He amplified the signal on the comm array, and projected it through slipspace. The signal arrived at its destination and bounced back, giving Contrite all the infomation he needed for his next minor plan. Tapping into the power grid again, he used all of its energy to help create one of his teleportation fields, creating a recieving field on the cruisers bridge.

The field glowed bright gold and a massive hulking... droid came out of it. The droid was easily over 5 metres tall and 3 metres wide. It stared around the room and assessed the threats. A nervous Marine accidently squeezed his trigger and hit the droid. The bullets bounched harmlessly of the droid's armor. The droid turned to stare at the marine which had shot him. It opened its shoulderpads and revealed and dozen micro-missiles. Some Marines turned and fled, others just stared in shock while the rest futilely tried to destroy the Forerunner's creation. Ten seconds later, the bridge was severely damaged and the rest of the Marines was killed by either the poison gas seeping through the ventilation or random explosions of electricity. Contrite and his droid were still on the bridge, talking to the ship's AI, attempting to retrieve information from it.

"You will tell everything you know about the recent situation on the planet Ceres." demanded Contrite.

The ship's AI, Olga, looked up at the monitor and raised one of its digital eyebrows, "Surely you can do better than that?"

Contrite flashed through many colors, "You have forced me to do something I was planning on doing later now." Contrite went over to the AI's panel and injected it with a virus. The AI's fuzzed as it's systems were taken over by the supervirus.

Olga looked up at Contrite again, "My life for yours." The AI fuzzed again, "Sorry, I meant how can I help you?"

Contrite chuckled, "Set a course for the planet. Make it look like a crash landing." Contrite floated over to the main viewport, "In the mean time, tell me evrything you know about Ceres and those that are on it."

The ship flew over an area of bushes and shrubery. The ship's comm relay picked up a Marines distress signal, shouting for help.

Contrite looked at the AI, "You heard the Marine, drop all vehicles outside, except the heavy stuff, if possible."

The sky above Hamishi was raining with falling Warthogs and Mongooses.

The ship continued crash landing, and arrived at an area designated by the UNSC as Broken Back Mountain. A battle was going on below and the largest thing was a giant black hole. The monitor stared at it in amazement. He shock himself out of his state of stupor, "AI, crash us... into the mountain"

The AI began to oppose the order but the virus took over, "Very well."

The cruiser fired upon the mountain and created a large hole in it, large enough for it to fit into, which it did. The sound of metal screeching travelled through the vicinty. The monitor turned to the AI, "You know what to do, infiltrate the UNSC encampment here. We'll be gaining the flood's trust. It is imperative you do your task well, if my greater plan is to work. The flood must be stopped."

A Pelican pulled away from the crashed cruiser and began to seek out the flood.

The Endless Justice had landed and the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation had assisted the humans in taking out the Flood. But then, they had heard loud shrieking.
"What's that noise?", Nibesa asked. For a grunt, he was very intelligent, surprising all who knew him.
"I know not, but just keep fighting", Jemsal replied. But then he had looked up in the sky and noticed a large human ship coming down towards them very quickly. It looked like it would crash right into their own position.
"All forces, evacuate!", he yelled, "A ship is about to crash into us! Run!!"
They all had begun to run when the ship took a near nose dive and opened fire on the mountain. It had shook and quivered, but the ship had crash landed straight into the hole. All the forces survived the impact with minor casualties and continued to take out the Flood.
When the Flood were killed, Team Alpha moved over and greeted the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation. Of course, it was only a short welcome.
"We need to report to our commanders", said James. "Your welcome to come along though."
"Yes, we'll come and introduce ourselves to your commander", said Jemsal.
But when they got into their tent, they found a marine with a gun pointed at both of them. "Who are you?", asked James. The marine then turned around quickly and fired several rounds at the groups. He then jump-kicked towards James, to which Jemsal responded by grabbing his feet as they gave and throwing him to the ground. But instead of hitting it, he landed on his hands and summersaulted back to his feet. He then charged the group, but was knocked unconcious by the two Hunter bond brothers, Cer Muso Coun and Den Muso Hico.
"Thanks for the assistance", said Fleet Admiral Wilson, "We needed it right then." He turned to the Covenant forces. "And who are these? They saved my life, so I think I should have an introduction."
"I", began Jemsal, "am Jemsal 'Emvadson, the leader of the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation. We are with the Covenant Separatists, so you need not fear us." He turned to his squadmates. "This", he began again, "is Ketynic 'Ilwol, the stealth expert and my second-in-command. This is Nibesa our recon and decoy expert. These two are Jaig and Ank our two trackers and snipers. This is Luzzda, air and space support as well as assasination/ambush expert. These two are Cer Muso Coun and Den Muso Hico, our heavy supporters. These two are Jarikus and Samorulan, the tactics, weapons and vehicle experts. There is one more member, our mentor Ameigh Broley, but she is not with us."
"So", began Amy, "A Covenant Separatist task force, you say? Made of two Elites, one of them a female interestingly enough, a Grunt, two Jackals, a Drone, two Hunters, and two Brutes. A motley crew. May I ask why two Jackals, a Drone and two Brutes are with you?"
"I and Samorulan", said Jarikus, "saw the error of the Brutes for following the Prophets. We chose to stay with Jemsal, whom we respect highly. Luzzda owes his life to me, so he had to come. As for the Kig-Yar, I know not their reasons for coming."
"We came", said Ank, "because we also respect Jemsal. And besides, our Brute commander was about to feed us to his pack."
The two Hunters then began making rumbling noises and ran off, trying to catch something. When the other's looked, they saw the odd-acting marine running off.
"Wait", cried Jemsal, "Stop!" The Hunters immediately obeyed the order and turned around.
"What was with him?", asked Fleet Admiral Wilson.
"I think I know", said Andrew. "I think he was under the control of the Dark Flood's command form. He calls himself Darkmind. Me, AJ, and Omega S Squad encountered it in the forest on the way here. It had taken over a girl then, but now it must have taken over him."
"So what do we do?", asked Amy.
"I don't know.", said Fleet Admiral Wilson, "but right now we should check out that downed ship. Team Alpha, Dragon Squadron and Squad of Un...Unrelenting Rep....Reparation, Unrelenting Reparation, right?", he looked to Jemsal, who nodded he was correct, "We need to think up an easier name for you guys. But back to the subject at hand. You three groups need to go down and investigate that ship, A.S.A.P. So grab your equipment and go. Move out!"

The Vultures provided close air support to the UNSC forces on Brokenback Mountain. On the grount, Lieutenant Commander AJ Lewis was out of ammo. He ran back to the main base to get a new weapon and more ammo.

The Hellcats were still very good even with the loss of thier commander. Hellcat 2 was in command and he was very good. They were providing close air support to Brokenback Mountain for hours. The hill was experiencing great casualites. They ran to thier Longswords and rocketed down to the surface.

AJ looked up. Covenant Phantoms were landing on the planet. They had to be brute... there was no other way. He ran at his top speed to the Headquarters on Brokenback Mountain. AJ

[edit] 63

The UNSC forces hadn't realized that what a pain in the neck it would be to place their base in the valley at the top of Brokenback Mountain. It had seemed like the perfect place to retreat to when the Flood had attacked: it was an easily defendable position with more than enough room to fit all the necessary equipment. But they didn't realize they would be pestered by the Bujkowe. They had disturbed a nearby tribe during the rush of the move, and they considered the mountain valley a sacred place. They had pelted the base and nearly invaded it during the Dark Flood attack. They seemed, at present, more of a threat than anything else on that planet. They kept coming and coming, endless numbers rushing the base and catapults throwing boulders into it. Fleet Admiral Wilson was trying to fight them back as hard as he could, but he wasn't much for working miracles. As one of the hardest attacks began though, a group of UNSC forces approached. They opened fire and killed every single Bujkowe out there.
"Fleet Admiral Wilson!", cried one of the marines, "We got reinforcements! And Lambda Squad's with them!"
Everyone got excited then. Lambda Squad walked through the camp, asked one of the marines to take them to the commanding officer and they met Fleet Admiral Wilson.
"I'm Lambda Leader and this is the rest of the Lambda Squad!", said Lambda Leader.
"You couldn't have come at a better time.", said Fleet Admiral Wilson. "Thanks for the help. Where did you come from?"
"We were at the UNSC Yamato's ground base. It just happened to end up being in the middle of a battle between the Hydra and the Flood. The Yamato gave an orbital bombardment. The Flood and Hydra there are dead, but only a quarter of the forces there escaped through an underground tunnel. They're coming in right now."
"Well, at least you survived.", said Fleet Admiral Wilson, "But I have an assignment for you right now. Normally, I'd send my personal friends Team Alpha to take care of something like this, but since they're investigating that crashed ship, I need you to do it. We scanned the planet to try to find the sources of the Flood and Hydra. We found a place where the Flood are coming from. I need you to go there and be an early warning for them. We'll follow soon and go down to take out whatever's controlling them. Just like on Artic IV."
"Sure thing", replied Lambda Leader. They went and grabbed some weapons, ammo and transportation. Then, they were off.

"The time has come!", yelled Doommind. "Darkmind! Bring the body parts to me!"
"Yes, Doommind!", Darkmind replied. He disappeared but soon came back with a dozen other Dark Combat forms, all of them carrying body parts. They laid them before the Doommind who then proceeded to place Flood Super Cells on them. Soon, the body parts rose up as Pure Flood forms, ready to serve Doommind.
"Darkmind, bring me more body parts! Go my minions, devour and bring more to join you! Consume all! Our hour draws near!"

"James, this is Amy. You there?"
"Yep, we're here", said James as he stepped into the ship. "Place looks pretty torn up. I don't think there are any survivors. We'll keep looking though. Did you want to say something?"
"Yeah, you missed all the action. You should have seen Lambda Squad cutting down those Bujkowe. Almost looks like I trained them. But you might want to hurry up with that inspection, they got to take your job. Wilson sent them off to role out the red carpet to the Flood domain for us."
"Don't worry, we ought to be able to finish up here soon. Half the ship's already been checked. James, over and out."
He looked over at the rest of his squad. They had split into half a dozen squads so they could get done faster. "You guys seen anything?", he asked.
"Nothing", said Katelynn.
"Nada", said Clayton.
"Nope", said Devyn.
"Wait, I think I got something!", yelled Nicholas.
"What is it?", asked James.
"It's a marine. He's barely alive. Wait, he's trying to say something. He says they were attacked by some sort of a robot. They it was shut off. It came back to life, took over the entire ship and crashed into the mountain. It flew off." Nicholas paused. "The marine's dead now, James. I think we have all we need to know. Let's go back up."
"I agree", said James. "All members of Team Alpha, Dragon Squadron and the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation, we're going back to the base. We searched the ship, it's clean. Let's go!" He changed to Amy's COM channel, "Amy! We got a Monitor on the loose. And this one sounds rampant."

An areial regiment of pelicans landed and Colonel Peter Lewis stepped out onto the surface of Ceres. With him, was the 45th Regiment, 2nd Briagde, 405th Marine Light Infantry Division. He checked for the M7 Caseless SMG at his side. He then checked to see if he had enough ammo for extensive combat. He was ready, his marines were as well. His job was to secure a clear pathway for Major General Nelson and the 51st Armoured Division of the UNSC Army Corps could secure the several kilometres of land that made up Grid Bravo 22. All Bujkowe and Covenant Rebel guerillas were to be taken out.

James crouched down as an elite hunter-killer team passed by. These were all Special Operations elites which were more than a match for a SPARTAN-III. Admiral Robert Valentino looked at the screen. There were dozens of covenant ships approaching Ceres. After the bombardment of the ground base, and the loss of 90% of thier ground forces, all the Yamato could do was attack in space. The Hellcats still had no idea where thier commander was and the Yamato needed some reparing. It had been damaged in the space battles and it showed. The 36 year old Carrier was still state of the art wtih constant upgrades to its cooling system, MAC guns, and the addition of a new AI named Napoleon. The AI looked like Napoleon and it had a taste for conquest. It was one of those new "Smart" AI's that would expand thier knowledge over their short 7 years of life. The AI had the responsibilities of firing the MAC Gun and checking the systems on the Yamato. Least did the crew know... AJ

Team Alpha walked back into the Brokenback Mountain base and went to the command tent.
"Hey, Amy!", yelled Katelynn. "Guess what, the ship had one survivor. It's an AI named Olga."
"What? I thought you said it was totally empty."
"She showed up near the end" Katelynn then went back over everything Olga had told them on the way back.
I don't trust her, said Nichole. James reached and turned off his COM channel. "I don't either. Coming up right at the last moment, barely catching our attention, somehow managing to survive. And most of all, she claims she wasn't even touched by the Monitor. It just doesn't seem to fit together." Best if you just play like you trust her though... for now. "Sure thing." He then turned the COM back on and Nichole simply got back to battle analysis.
"So what do we need to do?", asked Jemsal. "My team is restless, especially the Lekgolo bond brothers."
"Me no want battle", piped in Nibesa.
"You never want to fight", replied Ketynic.
"OK, shut up, all of you!", Amy ordered. The room got silent. "Fleet Admiral Wilson returned to space, so I'm in charge now. Lambda Squad went ahead and started fighting the Flood at their emergence hole. All of Brokenback Base is going to move in soon. All of you should go and meet up with them. Andrew, you and the rest of Dragon Squadron should go back to space. I heard something about more ships are coming into the system. Now, Katelynn, hand over that AI. I'll keep her. Now everybody, move out!"
With that, they all moved out. Dragon Squadron climbed into their fighters and took off back into space. Team Alpha reloaded their Alternator Rifles and grabbed extra ammo and grenades. The Squad of Unrelenting Reparation also went and grabbed some more weapons and ammo and then they unloaded their vehicles. Then, they all hopped onto their vehicles. Jake and Samuel jumped on one Mongoose, Clayton and Devyn jumped on another Mongoose, while James, Katelynn and Nicholas climbed into a Jungle Hog. Jemsal, Ketynic, Jaig and Ank jumped into a Spectre, Luzzda and Nibesa grabbed a Dual Ghost, Samorulan and Jarikus jumped onto two Brute Choppers while Cer Muso Coun and Den Muso Hico climbed into a Sprite.
And with that, they were all off.

Archaic Chivalry watched everything that was unfolding. He didn't wish to do anything unnecessary, such as sending out his Sentinels to destroy all the lifeforms before it was a requirement, if he didn't have to. But he was astonished at the activity. The Reclaimers were fighting off the Flood and Hydra quite admirably, though they were too few in number and too ill equipped to do any real good. The Bujkowe were also quite admirable in their attempts to defeat the innumerable foes, though they were even less qualified. But Archaic Chivalry was horrified at the site of all these Flood and Hydra. The Flood that had been kept on Ceres had been joined by two other forces, one of them being a specialized force with new forms. And the Hydra kept growing as well, taking over some of the Flood as well. But Archaic Chivalry was further surprised to find that there were other Monitors on the planet. A replacement for 343 Guilty Spark had appeared, but Archaic Chivalry was not sure of his motives or siding. Another Monitor had briefly been spotted flying away from a ship it had crashed. Archaic Chivalry believed it to be the rampant Monitor 3607 Contrite Dictum, but he could not be sure.
In any case, the situation had begun to grow out of hand. Regrettably, he told his Sentinel Generals to send out ten times as many Sentinels. The time for action had come. If the situation didn't improve soon, then he would be forced to annihilate all the forces on the planet.

The AI on the Yamato was experiencing the early stages of Rapancy. Named Grendel, it was modeled on the villian in the Book Beowulf. The AI was starting to think thoughts... thoughts of power... control... having a complete UNSC Carrier at its disposal. But, these thoughts were kept down because Valentino had the key to activate the Riemann Matrix in the AI. The AI was actually 6 years old, but the UNSC swore that it was only 3. The AI's creator, Dr. Inac Halabo had created it in 2550 as his own personal AI. But, the UNSC took the AI under its control and began to use it for military purposes. The UNSC Yamato's crew continued battaling Brute Ships over Ceres.

The Vultures had done admirably on thier bombing runs. They were helping the UNSC... but then, 9 Longswords came from the clouds and began to fire on them. Vulture One was hit and he crashed right into Brokenback base.

Colonel Peterson opened fire on the flood infection forms with his SMG. The balloon-like creatures exploded before a wave of combat forms rushed in. One of the marines screamed as the creature infected him and began to transform him into a combat form. Colonel Peterson's SMG clicked empty and he drew out his MA5B Assault Rifle and continued to fire. He cursed as India Company's signal went off of the radar. "This is Colonel Lewis calling for air support." Said the colonel over the comm. "Roger that. Please evacuate the area as we are going to carpet bomb it." Came the reply. "All units fall back to the LZ!" yelled the colonel.

James tore the elite right out of the driver seat of the spectre and shot him with his MA5K. A Special Operations Lance came charging through the forest to them. Contrite's Pelican rushed over landscape, which was overrun by various battles or occupations; most including Flood and the other similar species. Contrite stared out of the cockpit window searching for the hole the Flood decided to creep out from. Barely concealed and largely noticeable due to Flood surrounding it, the entrance was roughly as large as Contrite's Pelican. Contrite turned to O'Mand, "Into the hellhole." Jace wondered what had happened. He had tried to hail the fleet...and his fighter hadn't let him. He clicked his board, and saw that time had lapsed for a while. To long. He had blacked out. He wondered dimly why he had, then saw that his mission clock had been scrambled. An EMP blast then. But why had no one noticed it? Surely the fleet would've seen a EMP burst hit a squadron of inbound Broadswords?

Suddenly, his comm clicked, and he tentatively answered it. Apparently not everything was down. In fact, looking at his readouts, he saw his slipspace drive was still active, and that all systems but a few were functioning well. Odd, but not impossible. He looked out his cockpit panel for the firts time, and saw was not all as it seemed. It was not space that he saw, but rather the inside bulkhead of what appeared to be a freighter, and surrounding it, dozens of soldiers wearing ratty tatty clothing, and carrying old and new weapons; Pirates.

They followed me... thought Jace, and he cursed. He spotted the other Broadswords of the squad nearby.

He wasn't about to go down without a fight though. He jammed down the triggers and unleashed a deadly hail of— nothing. He checked his readouts, and saw that they had taken out all of the ammunition in his fighter. He was unarmed.

But he wasn't, not yet anyway. He still had his MA5K in the back, and he would use it well. Trouble was, they had had no time to reload it from training practice when he left the asteroid, so it was loaded with stun rounds. Damn. He unclicked his restraints and ran to the back end of the fighter. The fleet must not have realized that they were out there, or they would have sent help. The ship was probably in transit already. Silently he grabbed the MA5K and prayed that the others were all right.

Word had gotten back to select officials in the UNSC about the battle. They now knew that it had become more than a simple investigation and would probably turn sour very quickly. So they had ordered another new unit to be deployed to battle. A more powerful unit, equipped with powerful weaponry.......
They had been picked from the same batch as the new Team Alpha and Dragon Squadron, but they had been separated and trained very differently. They had each been given a newly developed piece of technology, the Heavy Battlemech-Biosuit, and they had been trained to use it. Now, they would finally get to see some action. Who were they? They were Team Beta.
The members of Team Beta consisted of the other children of the original Dragon Squadron and Team Alpha. Each member used a different variant of the Battlemech-Biosuit, giving each an edge in a certain field. The team consisted of Caleb Harrison, Ethan Walters, Jessica Summers, Challen Della, Nathan Black, Rebecca Cragin, Ruth Davis, Rachel Davis, Carlie Walters and John Davis. They had a fierce opposition towards Team Alpha and Dragon Squadron, since both of those teams believed themselves better than Team Beta. Now, it was the chance for Team Beta to show what they were made of.
"Team Beta", said a voice over the COM line, "Your time has come. Set course for Ceres and engage the enemy. Annihilate anything in your way. Those are your orders. Good luck."
"Roger that", said Caleb, "Let's get this show on the road people!"
"Yes sir!", they answered.
Their ship lifted up and turned to face the direction of Ceres. The crew put in the coordinates and entered slipspace.

Vulture 1 climbed out of his Katana. It was badly damaged when a longsword fired a missile at it. The Katana crashed into one of the buildings at Brokenback Mountain. As he climbed out, he saw a figure dash in the darkness. He called out to the figure, wanting help for his wounds. Then, he heard a voice he hadn't heard in a long time. That of Lieutenant Commander AJ Lewis. AJ ran over to him and helped him into the Head Quarters. Once he got there, the Soldiers loaded thier SMG's and aimed at Captain Holstrom. The Marines wanted to arrest him for the crimes of Traitorious Deeds against the UNSC, AWOL, Using Stolen UNSC/ Corporate Equipment, Arms Trafficking, Buying/ Use of Stolen Nuclear Materials, and Illegal Use of Nerual Implants. But, Lewis stood up and told the Marines that Holstrom may be thier only hope... They needed the 225th Naval Squadron back for this battle. They needed reinforcements. And Captain Holstrom... was their only hope.

The AI on the Yamato was firing the MAC gun as fast as his circuits would allow. He always wondered why he was assigned this task. He concluded that this task was given to him because of his advanced mathmatical properties. But, one part of him always thought... "Maybe I should be doing more?" He knew that in a few weeks, the UNSC would try to shut him down by activating his Riemann Matrix. He had seen it happen before; the looks on the AI's faces. He didn't want it to happen to him... It wasn't going to happen to him. He continued firing the MAC gun.

Hellcat 2 finally got word from thier Squadron Leader. Lewis was on the ground with the fighter he had shot down. It was the head of one of the best Squadrons in the Navy. He flew down and allowed Lewis and Holstrom to be evacuated. Almost immediately, Valentino pardoned Holstrom's crimes and granted him the rank of UNSC Captain. They flew to Vulture base because the rest of the Vultures had bugged out after Holstrom was shot down.

When Lewis, Holstrom, and Hellcat 2 got to Vulture base, the Vultures cocked thier M6B Pistols. Holstrom got them to lower thier weapons and told them that they were pardoned and were to report to the UNSC Yamato immediately. But, Valentino sent a Code Badnersnatch on Ceres. The Vultures showed Lewis and Hellcat 2 a weapon they had been holding for a while. It was the 2nd Prototype to the NOVA bomb. They had stolen it from Reach before it was glassed. They loaded the NOVA onto Vulture 2's Katana and they slipspace jumped to the UNSC Yamato. When they got to the bridge, Valentino pardoned them and they awaited the order to NOVA Ceres. But first, they had to evacuate all remaining forces from Brokenback Base.

Grendel saw what was going on. He thought that the NOVA was the perfect solution. But, something bugged him. It was something his Creator put in him. 5...4...3...2...1... The NOVA exploded. But, since it had been tampered with, it only took out a chunk of the planet. The Hellcats and Vultures watched as a portion of Ceres was obliterated. But then, they got new contacts... slipspace ruptures

Valentino watched as new contacts appeared on screen. Then, a mysterious figure, the figure of an alien appeared on screen. This alien was a bipedal figure, about 9 feet tall. But the thing about it was, was that it looked weak. A new message came across: "We are the Precursors, and we have come back to take over our Galaxy".

The viewing screen on the UNSC Yamato split into two as another being came on. It was Forge. "This is my galaxy. Not yours! I will not give it up so easily." Forge yelled at the precursors. "I had my own plans, you are not part of them!" He yelled again. "Leave now or face your eternal destruction!" A slipspace portal opened far off beside the precursors fleet. Hundreds of ships came out. Its design was familiar to few, but undeniable. They were forerunner ships controlled by flood. Never before was such a fleet seen in thousands of years. And now it was at Ceres and ready for battle.

Grendel finally knew. His creator had been studying the precursors for a long time. They were more technologically advanced than the forerunner themselves. They had left the galaxy, but now, they were back. Grendel began uselessly firing the Yamato's MAC Gun at the ships.

The UNSC Yamato cracked in two. the Precursors technology was too advanced. Some sort of laser fired straight through the Yamato splitting it in two. Valentino was instantly killed but the Hellcats and Vultures made it off. Lewis saw the forerunner ships fire on the Precursors. He wondered how to end this threat. Then, he knew. Where there are flood, there is a key. Where there is a key, there is a halo. AJ 01:23, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 91

All the UNSC forces looked back at what had been the entire continent that had held the Flood emergence hole. They stared at what had once been part of the planet, now floating off into space. And as they stared out into space, they noticed a large slipspace rupture. Out of it emerged a fleet of strange looking ship. Advanced ships, more advanced than anything that had ever been seen.
"What do you think those are?", asked Jake.
"I really don't know", Amy replied.
Then another large slipspace rupture appeared farther off to the side of the strange fleet. Out of it jumped a fleet that they could tell was clearly Forerunner built. The two ships opened fire on each other, and a battle began the like of which had not been seen in a 100,000 years. Then, they opened fire on the UNSC forces also, firing lasers that cut several ships in half.
"No!", yelled James, seeing several of the guard ships for the Annihilator get taken down.
A voice was soon heard by the waiting onlookers. "All UNSC forces, this is Fleet Admiral Jim Wilson. Attempt to evacuate the planet. Take as many Flood and Hydra with you as possible. Good luck friends." With that, the COM line crackled off.
"You heard the man, let's move!!", yelled Amy.
"Yes ma'am!!", they all yelled. Nicholas stopped though and turned to face her once more, "But, all of our Pelicans, Albatrosses and all the other ships are on the far side of the hole."
"Then we'll go around. Get moving, we got a long trip."
"Yes ma'am"
All the forces mounted up in the vehicles, and those that couldn't simply ran as fast as possible. They needed to reach the far side of the planet and evac before anything else could go wrong.

Blackheart, the Hydra Commander form, looked up into the sky now that he had finally broke free from the containment chamber and saw a sight he had never wished to see. He looked up and saw both Forerunner and Precursor ships engaging each other in battle. He knew of the Precursors, the beings that even the Forerunners themselves had known little about. They were the ones that had imprisoned the Hydra in the first place, before the Forerunners had accidentally released them. The Forerunners had merely created imperfect copies of the Precursor technology to contain the Hydra with.
"Find anything to get off this planet! Defeat the Precursors! And find a Monitor for me so that I may control this planet as well as these fleets!", he bellowed to his Hydra forces. Thousands of Cell, Melee, Ranged, Worm, Aerial, Infected, Spawner and all the other forms heeded his command, doing what they could to carry them out.
Blackheart bellowed out evil laughter. This planet would be his as the galaxy was long ago.

"Dragon Squadron!", yelled Fleet Admiral Wilson, "See what you can do about these ships!!"
"Sir, yes sir!!", they replied and sped off to do so. They engaged the Flood-controlled Forerunner ships and the Precursor fleet. They fired round after round of all their weaponry into the ships, only to have them explode on them without making so much as a dent.
"They're too tough", yelled Cindle.
"Hang in there", replied Justin.
But then things got worse as the Precursors released remote controlled fighters into the fight. They started taking down the fighters and bombers, and since they were remote controlled it didn't matter if they exploded since another was simply launched from the onboard factories.
"I need help!", yelled Luke, "I can't shake him!"
"I'm coming!", replied Andrew, but he was held up by several fighters of his own. "I can't make it!"
But suddenly, another ship, UNSC this time, appeared from slipspace. Out of it launched several large, robotic suits. The suits moved into the fray and destroyed the fighters that had been on Luke's tail and then took out the ones behind Andrew.
"Who are you?", asked Andrew.
"Don't you remember us?", asked one of the suits.
Andrew recognized the voice then. "Of course, Caleb. Where have you been?"
"Training. I'm here with the others. We're part of a counterpart project for James' team. We're Team Beta now."
"Well, let's take these guys down, eh?"
"Sure, let's go!"

The Fleet of Complete Annihilation entered the Ceres system. They had come to respond to the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation's request for assistance, but they found much more. There was a space battle of epic proportions between the Humans, Forerunner ships and another, unknown type of ship.
The Fleet Commander turned on the COM line. "This is Dwan 'Onroal, Fleet Commander of the Fleet of Complete Annihilation. May I speak with the Fleet Commander of the Human forces?"
"This is Fleet Admiral Jim Wilson, commander of the UNSC forces. Can you give us a hand with these Flood and Precursors?"
"Precursors? They have returned?"
"Yeah, and they ain't too happy. Give us a hand, because they ain't in a talkative mood right now. They'd rather destroy you than talk to you." "Of course" He switched the COM to that of his fleet. "All warriors of the Holy Covenant, attack the foes!" In his mind, 'Onroal wondered about his decision. Had he made the right choice? He didn't have time for that at the moment though and turned his attention to defeating these foes.

The Hydra finally managed to break into the capital city of the Bujkowe. They storm the city and took over all the inhabitants, turning ones of no use into immobile Spawner forms that created more Cell forms. They reached the Golden Hall with little resistance and then after a short fight, captured Chieftain Tekciw.
After a trek across the forest, the Hydra forms gave the chieftain to Blackheart. He was quickly absorbed into the Commander form and Blackheart began pouring over the Chieftains knowledge. As Chieftain, he was well versed in their history and legends, something that Blackheart desperately wanted. As he poured over all this knowledge, he finally gave what could be called a smirk. He had found what he was looking for.....

From the depths of space, a creature sped on its' way to Ceres. It could see it in the distance, a bright green planet mixed with blues, greys, and browns. And above it was what he sought. The Precursors. His creators. His tormentors. His prey.
The creature was Nogard, an ancient beast created by the Precursors in an experimental weapon against the Hydra. He was indeed the perfect weapon against the Hydra, but he was only a mindless killing machine, tormented by flashes of memories from his past as a Precursor. And now, he planned to kill them all, as they had killed him.

"Colonel Lewis! Get your regiment out of that area or the flood will infect you all! I am matching up a special route for safety into your HUD. it will make you travel close to a Covenant rebel encampment so that the flood will be temporarily distracted as they infect the inhabitants of the camp." Said Admiral Chow. "Acknowledged Admiral Chow. This is Colonel Lewis moving out." Replied the colonel who relayed the order to his men. "All troops! We are going to pass by a Covenant rebel camp on the escape route as a distraction for the flood! The route is now being patched through to everyone's HUD now." Colonel Lewis ran forward and fired his MA5B into a nearby combat form. Since the flood were now behind them few could hinder the advance of the marines.

Fleet Admiral Chow looked on the video display and saw the Precursor ships exit slipspace. "D*****t! Ensign! Call Team Murmillo! I want them here ASAP!." Ordered Admiral Chow.

"Team Murmillo! A pelican is heading towards your position! Hold it!" Yelled an ensign onboard the UNSC Spitfire. "Okay team! Hold the area until a pelican comes to get us outta here!" He ordered. Two banshees screamed overhead and James opened fire from the Spectre's turret bringin them down, but then there was silence. No more Covenant rebels were attacking. Why? Before James could wonder any more an object teleported into the clearing. It was a glowing dark purple. James' instincts told him to run but he held ground. The object charged at Tuan's spectre and sent it flying with Tuan barely getting out in time. James opened fire at the object but it began to float and a large translucent sphere formed around it. The sphere flashed purple as the spectre round hit it but the object remained unharmed. The object ran towards James and James fired at it. It's arm was blasted off and the object screamed as the plasma burned right through it. The pelican came to the ground and Team Murmillo quickly boarded it out of fear of facing any more of the things that just attacked them. Little did they know was that it all was about to get much worse.

Lewis looked back from his Longsword. The Yamato had exploded. He knew his mission. Find this thing called a "key" and fire a miniture halo. He saw the intelligence reports from long ago, how Ceres was cordoned off like Onyx and deleted from all UNSC Registars. He rolled and fired upon the Precursor fighters. They were too advanced. He disengaged and rocketed toward the surface. Him and Vulture 1 dodged energy beams and plasma bolts. It was a melee. Covenant vs. UNSC vs. Bukjowe vs. Hydra vs. Flood vs. Precursor vs. Covenant Sepratists. He flew to an abandoned forerunner construct on the planet. Something called a "Library". He docked his longsword, and armed with an M6D and a flashlight, he stepped into the construct. AJ 15:41, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

The UNSC grounds forces, along with the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation, moved quickly through what was now a barren wasteland. The impact of the NOVA had not only blew a large chunk out of the planet, but it has turned half of what was left into a barren wasteland. Now, they sped through this land of rocks and sand to attempt to find their way off the planet.
Jake and Samuel rode ahead on their personal Mongoose. They had specialized it to allow them to go much faster than any normal vehicle the UNSC or Covenant possessed. But as they moved ahead, they saw a figure up on one of the ridges. It was a cloaked figure, the face couldn't be seen and it carried a large sword on its' back.
"Sam", said Jake, "Let's go see who this guy is"
"Sure thing"
"James, we're gonna check out a new contact. Some guy in a cloak."
"I'll see if the Covies'll help you out.", James replied, "Over and out." James turned to Jemsal and yelled what Jake had just said. "Of course, I'll go assist him myself", Jemsal replied and jumped off the Spectre, breaking into a run up to the ridge.
Jake and Samuel closed in, and once they were up on the ridge, they jumped off the Mongoose and approached the figure.
"Who are you?", Samuel asked the figure. The figure didn't answer. "I said who are you?"
"I", it began, "I am the last thing you'll ever see" and then the figure grabbed the katana off his back and rushed both Jake and Samuel.
They both rolled out of the way and turned to open fire with their Alternator Rifles. The figure would merely dodge or reflect them with his blade. Jake and Samuel kept dodging, but they were no match for this opponent. Then, the figure smacked both to the ground and prepared to kill them. But as the blade came down, Jemsal appeared and placed his two energy swords between the blade and them. The two began a vicious dual to the death. Each counter the others' moves excellently, as both were well versed in the ways of the sword. Then, Jemsal knocked this figure down the side of the ridge that led down into a deep valley. Jemsal took this time to get Jake and Samuel back up and leave.
Little did they know that the figure had survived.

Nogard rearranged his scales to make a type of camouflage and flew in close to the Precursor ship. He would soon exact vengeance upon his prey.

Archaic Chivalry looked at what he saw in unbelief. A giant chunk of the planet had just been blown out into space, revealing his Forerunner installation underneath. And now, the Precursors had returned and Forge had also brought in a Flood-controlled Forerunner fleet to battle them. The Reclaimers and the Covenant were trapped in the crossfire, while those on the planet, those that had survived the blast, were trying to get off of it, fighting the Flood and Hydra on the way.
"I must do something.", he said. He turned to his command consoles and decided what to do. He ordered all Sentinel factories to produce at double speed and begin the creation of Sentinel Colossi. He turned to the Sentinel Generals. "Make sure that no Flood or Hydra make it into the Library. They must not take the Index. We must protect it until we have no other option but set off the pulse."
He turned back to his work as his Generals went about their duties. The Forerunners had long ago used this installation as a test station for the Halo superweapons. The Ceres Installation had the same destructive capabilities as the Halo Array. But they after the testings, they had worked out the kinks and equipped the Halo Arrays with the weapons, but they never fixed the one on Ceres. If Archaic Chivalry was forced to activate the weapon, it would kill all sentient beings in the Ceres system, but it would also destroy Ceres.
Archaic Chivalry determined to do everything in his power to keep from activating the weapon.

James had been debriefed on the mission. They were to take a squad of ODSTs and capture the hangar of a Precursor ship. Once that was done a company of marines would land and they would work to secure the ship from there. As the pelican went closer to the hangar a shimmer on the enemy ship appeared. “Quick! We gotta get in there before the shields go back up!” James yelled to the pilot. Two fighters, the same colour as the object they faced on the ground earlier came out and engaged the longsword escorts. The first longsword fired its 110mm chain guns into the ship destroying it but the second one put up its shield. James looked away. All that mattered was securing the hangar. The pelican fired its missile into the hangar easily destroying the guards and the soldiers jumped out. James fired his MA5K at the creatures attempting to recapture the hangar. “Marine Company! This is SPARTAN-G023! The hangar is secure!” He yelled. He took this team and the ODSTs farther into the ship when he encountered another one of the creatures. It raised its arm and fired a dark purple energy mass that sent an ODST flying. James fired his MA5K into it killing it. This one was weaker than the creature fought on the ground but it had a ranged attack making it much more deadly. Two more of them came through the entrance of the next-door and opened fire with their weapons. The SPARTANs and ODSTs took cover and James unslung his Sniper Rifle. He fired tow shots and the creatures went down. The SPARTANs and ODSTs walked into the next room and found it as quite different. On each side of the wall there was a bridge and they were separated by a large gap. “What’s that noise?” Will said. Loads of the creatures began to walk out on the other bridge. They aimed their guns at the group and prepared to fire. “Such a shame that my Dark Makers will have to kill you. You seemed like such an interesting specimen to study.” Said a voice. A massive exoskeleton floating in the air came out. “Now then. I must neutralize you as possible Hydra hosts. Good bye.” It said as it left. Tuan picked up his Rocket launcher and fired into the Dark makers. They exploded and everyone opened fore killing the rest. A loud buzzing sound was heard as three drones came in the room. They looked very similar to sentinels with the exception of the fact that they had a tri-barreled weapon on their nose and that they had a large red stripe going down their middle and their edges were steel. The drones opened fire with a gun similar to the sentinel laser, except that instead of a long beam there were hundreds of small beams in rapid fire. The ODSTs were easily cut down but James managed to shoot one with his MA5K. Tuan tried to hit one but the drones were to fast. James stuck one passing by with a plasma grenade. It was a fight to the finish.

Lewis saw the geometric patterns on the wall. On one side, it showed what must have been a battle that the forerunner were in. Also, it showed a wall with all of these hieroglyphics. He touched one. The portion of the wall moved back showing a chamber. Inside was the key. But something wasn't right. Then, tentecles came out and grabbed him and Holstrom. Dean looked at himself in the mirror. He had started to get old. Dang! he thought to himself. Although he was 75 years, he hadn't noticed that he had aged until now.

He turned around and picked up his Assault Rifle. He strapped it to his back. Suddenly a voice came from his COM link: "Dean, this is Captain Crow. Gather your men, you're going groundside."

"Roger," Dean responded. He hurried to the barracks where the Marines were.

"All right maggots, form two lines here: one to my left side and one to my right, and hurry up, we don't have all day." The Marines quickly formed two lines. Dean had to smile. This was battle-hardened veterans, not simple rookies.

"Good maggots, now listen! We have much to talk about and little time!" Dean made a pause, before starting again: "Apparently this planet, Ceres, is full of Flood and other creatures. But that won't stop us, will it?"

"Sir, no sir!" the Marines shouted all at once.

"Then listen to me! I will select three teams that will go to the planet immediately: First Team will drop in HEVs to the surface. You're mission? Clear an LZ for Second Team, which will set up a stronghold at a nearby hill. Third Team will be lead by me, and we'll fly in Pelicans to scout the area for survivors, which should be taken to the stronghold. So, have I made myself clear?"

"Sir, yes sir!" the Marines cried out.

Amy pulled the chip for AI they had recovered from the ship, Olga was her name, out of the bag and inserted her into her helmet.
"Finally, I thought I was never going to be able to know anything.", Olga said, "Wait, what happened? The planet... it's missing a huge piece!"
"They tried to NOVA the planet, but it detonated in the atmosphere, only taking out that part of the the planet along with the Flood emergence hole", Amy replied.
Olga cringed at the thought of what might become of her if Contrite Dictum reappeared.

As the Precursors Dark Maker robots fought off the boarding UNSC forces, the Precursors themselves had to turn their attentions to another threat.
Nogard ripped the side of the ship open and went inside. Several Dark Maker robots appeared, but their weapons were useless and Nogard merely tore them apart with little effort. His goal was near. Soon, he would feast on the Precursors, exacting his vengeance. He didn't think of what he would do afterwards, he merely wanted to destroy them.

Archaic Chivalry looked at his viewscreen for the Library. As a testing facility for the Halo Array technology, it had to have all of the things the rings themselves would. He looked and he saw one of the Reclaimers had landed on it, obviously preparing to take the Index and activate the Ceres Installation.
"I must stop this Reclaimer. 714 Cognitive Tactics, see to the Installation while I see to the Reclaimer"

Blackheart had sent his forces to capture to capture the Monitor of the installation and to take over Sentinels and Constructors. He needed the machines in order to repair the downed ships and escape the planet. And the Monitor would allow him access to the teleportation grid, allowing him to move as he pleased. All would fall into place as he had foreseen.

Doommind finally broke through to the surface. His Flood forms had managed to dig through the little dirt left after the planet had broken away, which Doommind had barely survived being only a few miles away from the farthest impact point, and he looked up into the sky. He saw the Flood-controlled Forerunner fleet engaging the Precursors and wondered how much longer it would take for Darkmind to make an alliance with Forge, if he could at all.
"At least I have the humans." he said, holding up his two hostages in his tentacles. "Such fools to think that they could defeat me so easily." Then, Doommind began to laugh, a horrific, evil Flood cackle that chilled the soul.

Cognitive Tactics watched as the Hydra attacked his control center.
"Sentinels, engage the Hydra! Destroy them!"
It was of no use. Soon enough, all the machines were under the Hydra's control and Cognitive Tactics was taken captive, taken before Blackheart.

Archaic Chivalry arrived at the Library to find the Reclaimers and stop them from making this foolish mistake. But as he looked around, he saw neither of them. He decided to check the Index Chamber, finding it still in place, untouched by Human hands.
"That's odd", he said to himself, and turned to leave when he heard a noise. He whirled around to see several large tentacles coming towards, reaching out to capture him as they had done to the humans before. Archaic Chivalry opened fire with his own personal Forerunner laser, stunning the tentacles long enough to teleport back to the command center.
"This can't be good", he said, "The Flood have a Gravemind, here." He broadcasted a message to all Sentinel Factories. "Primary Function: Create Sentinel Colossi, ASAP"

Fleet Commander 'Onroal entered the Sanctum of the Hybrid.
"Supreme Commander Broley, we've entered the system and engaged the enemies. The ships appear to be Flood-controlled Forerunner ships and Precursors ships. The planet itself is swarming with Flood, Hydra and Forerunner constructs. There are also some Covenant Loyalists and Rebels, but they're not much of a threat compared to the others."
"Understood", said the Supreme Commander, "I'll lead the ground forces to soon. Any word from the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation?"
"None so far."
"Carry on then."
Ameigh Broley prepared herself for the battle. Her mission was to lead the Fleet of Complete Annihilation's forces done to the ground and save the allied forces, taking out as many Flood and Hydra as possible along the way.
Ameigh walked down the hall to the hangar and climbed into her personal Seraph fighter. "Let's go", she said, leaving the hanger and being followed by hundreds of Phantoms, Spirits and Covenant Orbital Drop Pods.

On the outskirts of the battle, where a forerunner ship lie in pieces, a massive portal opened. After blasting a sentinel with his laser Forge looked up to see it happen. He froze in fear as the massive structure took its form. The forerunner city "Neon" appeared. Forge began to flee as fast as he could, hoping not to be seen by "them". In full view, millions of flood dispersal pods were flung down to every thing. The ships and the planet. A dark deep voice pierced the thunder of destruction. "You, all of you, shall die." Neon then began firing at every ship, flood and all. --Kebath 'Holoree 22:15, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Dean looked up. He saw as Flood dispersal pods hailed all over the area. That wasn't good. If those things were full of Flood, First and Second Team would easily be overwhelmed. Dean started his COM link.

"First and Second Team, watch out for those pods, they probably contain flood. Try to get to a safe position where I can pick you up!"

"Roger."

Dean hoped that they would make it, but they probably wouldn't. They were good, but the Flood were not to be underestimated. He turned to the pilot.

"Pilot, try to destroy the pods while they're in the air, ok?"

"Sir, yes sir," the pilot responded quickly. The Pelicans began to open fire on the flying pods. It wouldn't give much help to the ground troops, but what choice did they have? Suddenly a pod hit his Pelican. After some seconds of struggle, it crashed down into the forest.

The horde of Hydra controlled robots flew back to Blackheart, Cognitive Tactics in their custody. They handed him over to Blackheart, who absorbed him into his being and gained all of his stored information and, what he had really been after from the Monitor, access to the teleportation grid.

Ameigh Broley and her troops landed on the planet and moved out to destroy the Flood and Hydra, as well as save their Human allies. But as she moved to lead her troops, she heard a new noise from the sky. She looked up, she saw an enormous Forerunner city enter the system and begin to fire on everything in sight.

Lewis awoke out of his coma. In front of him was this creature... a very large plant he thought it was. He looked to his left. Holstrom was out still. Then, the creature spoke to him. It said: "I am death, I am the darkness. I have stayed here for millinea, carrying out a sentence that was wrongfully put on me. Do you think activating this ring will kill me!? It is just a mere passage of time." Then Lewis took out the only thing that had some affect on the flood. An incendiary greande. He lit it up and he threw it into the creatures mouth. Dean got up to his feet. The situation looked bad. More of the pods dropped all over the forest. That meant the First and Second Teams wouldn't have a chance. He picked up a Spartan Laser and strapped it to his back. Then he picked up two SMGs and a Shotgun. He decided to use the Shotgun first, so he hooked the SMGs on his belt. Then he took off into the forest.

Almost immediately a swarm of Combat Forms attacked. He saw they were the Human type of Combat Forms, and figured out that they were from First and Second Team. He repeatedly fired his Shotgun. Many flood fell, but there just came more to take the fallen's place. Just when he thought it was hopeless, three Scorpion Tanks came out of the forest and opened fire on the flood. It was Marines inside. Quickly, Dean jumped onto one. Then Pelicans came and hailed the enemy from the sky, soon clearing them out.

"Hello, Master Gunnery Sergeant, thought you needed some help." It was Captain Crow.

"Thank you sir, but we've still got many problems. That city, it came from nowhere, and now its unleashing a devastating force."

"Yes I know, Sergeant. I'm planning to strike the thing with the ships I have, and I hope that other ships will help. But I've got a problem that I want you to deal with first. The city has several cannon towers that are holding away the ships. I want you to disable some of them, so we can blow that thing up!"

"I'll start immediately, Captain!"

"This is Fleet Admiral Jim Wilson. All forces, redirect fire onto the large Forerunner city. Engage it with full firepower."
All the UNSC and Covenant ships turned towards the Forerunner city. The Precursors had already done this, realizing the threat it presented, but Forge's fleet was still firing on the other forces even with the Forerunner city attacking them, taking those ships down as well.
"Dragon Squadron, I want you and any other volunteer fighter squadrons to try and get in close, find whatever it is that's holding that thing in the air, and take it down. Move!"

Ameigh and her forces moved quickly over the barren landscape. The impact of the NOVA had turned nearly a third of the planet into a desert, making movement easy but hiding impossible. They attempted to go as quickly as possible and if the Flood or Hydra were foolish enough to attack, they killed them quickly.
Eventually, they came over a rise and saw the other forces. They hurried over and joined them.
"Ameigh!", yelled Jemsal, rushing over to greet his mentor, "What took you so long?"
"Why didn't you send the message sooner?", replied Ameigh.
"Now wait, I sent it before we even got here. This time, the blame is squarely on you.", said Jemsal very seriously. But then both broke into laughter from the joke.
"Now, for some introductions. Team Alpha, this is our mentor, Ameigh Broley. Ameigh, these are the members of Team Alpha. They may introduce themselves personally if they choose."
"I'm sorry to say this, but we don't really have time for this", said James, "We need to get off the planet ASAP"
"Of course", said Ameigh
"What about you're ships?"
"Most were shot down, and the few that are left are too far away from here. Your ships are closer."
"Then let's go"

"This is Caleb of Team Beta", said Caleb, "You think you boys can handle things up here? We need to take out that Hydra commander form, wherever it's lurking down there"
"Sure thing", said Luke, "We'll take care of things up here, you give James and all a hand down there"

As the com snapped off, the bridge officers carefully calculated an entry vector towards any surviving UNSC and Covenant ground forces in the area. As Captain Jacobs studied the displays front of him, he ordered the pilots to bring the Winter in low enough to deploy the 421st Fighter Squadron to cover the ground forces.

Down in the hanger the pilots of the 421st were busing preparing their Longswords and fighters for immediate deployment.

After the Winter's fighters were clear, Captain Jacobs ordered the ship be brought back into orbit and the shields to be engaged. Then he ordered the Pulse Laser turrets to be warmed up for immediate action.

The Pelicans closed in on the target. Dean, together with 12 other Marines, had to disable as many cannon towers as possible, in order to help in the coming assault from the starships.

The Pelicans landed near the edge of the city, for now free from flood. Two Moongooses, two Warthogs and one Scorpion Tank were dropped off together with the Marines. Dean took the driving seat in the Scorpion, while another Marine manned the Machine Gun. The other Marines took the other vehicles. Then they drived forward.

Some hundred meters into the city, the Flood attacked. But they were dealt with quickly thanks to the Scorpion Tank. After another three hundred meters, they arrived at the first cannon tower. Dean and two other Marines went in through the door. According to the scannings of the area, all they had to do to disable these things was to fire with a Spartan Laser right into the Energy Beam being generated in the middle of the tower.

They met some flood hostiles, but very few, and it didn't take long until they were in the center. Dean switched to the Spartan Laser he'd been carrying since the drop. He pointed on the energy beam, and charged his laser. After a few seconds it fired, and hit the beam. The Beam blurred for some seconds, and then faded away. First tower disabled.

Dean and the Marines went out to the vehicles, took their seats, and headed away for the next one. Suddenly Dean saw that another one of the towers were shut down. Was someone else given this task as well?

Rthao 'Haerum returned to his Scarab. The Cannon tower was disabled. Now he had to go for another one. He went to the command section of the Scarab. He ordered it forward. There was still much to do.

As the humans were nearing the second tower and noticed its destruction, a large vine from Ancientmind came from the ceiling and smashed into the floor removing all space between them, the tower, and the exit. Flood began pouring out of crevices and the massive hole. Thousands of them. And they all stared for a moment, then began attacking. --Kebath 'Holoree 18:39, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

The humans stared at the hordes of Flood, wondering how they'd get out of this one. But just then, Dragon Squadron flew overhead.
"Watch out boys!", yelled Brittany as she flew in.
All of Dragon Squadron opened fire with chainguns, missiles, bombs, and whatever else they had. Then marines also opened fire on the Flood and they were all dead in 3 of Dragon Squadron's runs.
"Thanks", said the leader of the marines.
"No problem", said Cindle as they flew off to bomb more of the structure.

Lewis and Holstrom awoke. A 12 feet tall creature with grey skin stood in front of them. Then, the creature spoke. It said: "Reclaimers, I am the Librarian of Ceres. I am the last of the forerunner." Lewis and Holstrom looked at each other in amazement. AJ 20:12, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Dean smiled while he drove the Scorpion. He was glad to have that Squadron in the air. He would've been dead if it weren't for them, and Dean was the one who remembered to pay back to those who helped him. He headed for the next tower.

After a while of small engagements with flood groups, he arrived at the third tower. This time the Flood seemed to be prepared, as it was around a hundred of the things around the tower. Dean hit the breaks. He pointed the cannon on the horde, and said: "Get outta' my way!"

A large screech echoed throughout the city. In a massive rumble and shaking of the area, six large vines from Ancientmind soared through the floor and wrapped around the tower protecting it from damage. "You are going to fail pitiful humans." "I must inform the Librarian", said Archaic Chivalry, "He should know what to do"
Archaic Chivalry feared for what might happen. He knew that the Librarian had told him to never disturb him, since he meant to spend the rest of his days in mourning, but he had no other choice.
Archaic Chivalry engaged his teleportation to take him to the Librarian's residence.

The UNSC and Covenant forces continued to try and get back to their ships. But, the ships weren't at the edge of the crater as they had thought, but rather a dozen more miles through the jungles.
"Nichole", said James, "Keep me posted on any enemy movements"
"Don't worry, we're safe for now.", Nichole replied.
"And just how long do you think that'll last?"
"No time!", she shouted, "They're all around us!"
All of the forces heard this, since she had broadcasted it on the COM line, and they turned to look. Sure enough, they had ended up in the middle of a Hydra-Flood battle.
"Engage the enemies!", yelled Ameigh.
The Flood and Hydra attacked all comers, including each other, and began to infect and absorb all the living organisms into their forces. James dodged to the right as a Combat form tried to attack, and Jemsal came in and slashed it in two with his energy sword. Jake brought out his SMG's as Samuel drove the Mongoose around the battle, attempting to splatter the Cell and Infection forms. Nibesa, Jaig and Ank stood back and fired from a distance, covering each others backs with Luzzda flying over them. Ketynic and Katelynn covered James and Jemsal, as well as using their weapons at close range to blow their foes to pieces. Clayton, Devyn, Den Muso Hico and Cer Muso Coun stayed back and fired their heavy weapons into the battle. Nicholas had gone in with Samorulan and Jarikus to take the foes down at close range, with Nicholas as bait to distract the enemy as the two Brutes took them down. Amy and Ameigh stood back and barked orders to their forces.
But even with these brave warriors, the battle was hopeless. The forces were being defeated, when suddenly the Flood and Hydra were fired upon from above. The UNSC and Covenant forces looked up, and saw Team Beta descending to the ground. Soon, the Flood and Hydra were destroyed.
"Hey there, James", said Caleb, "Looked like you could use a hand"
"Caleb!", replied James, "It's been a while. Thanks for the help. Now come on, we have to get out of here."

Dean woke up. It seemed that he had been passed out for a while. He felt that his left shoulder hurt. He had appeared in corridor, apparently under the room he'd been in during the attack on the third tower. Those stupid vines seemed to always come at bad times.

He walked through the corridor, after picking up his Shotgun and Spartan Laser. The corridor never turned, but continued straight forward. He heard the crawling sound of Infection Forms all the time, but they never arrived.

After some time of walking, he saw through a hole that it was an elevator on the other side. He brandished his Combat Knife and cut through the slime wall. He went to the elevator and started it. It went upwards.

After some minutes, it arrived at its final destination. After going through a door, Dean found out that he was in the third Cannon Tower. He killed the two Flood guards, and then pointed his laser on the beam. He fired, and the beam faded out. He ran out through the gate of the tower.

"Sir, third tower is disabled," Dean said through the COM link to Captain Crow.

"Good work Master Guns'. Try to...WHAT! Sergeant, take cover immediately, repeat, immediately! A Scarab is heading for your position, and it's commanded by Flood."

"Copy that." Dean took cover behind the destroyed Warthog, where he found two of his Marines.

"Marines, what's your status?"

"Sir, after you were thrown away by that vine, the flood charged. They overwhelmed us by their sheer number. We was able to survive however."

"Good. What's your weapon status?"

"I've got a Rocket Launcher, and Bill here got an Battle Rifle!"

"Bill, take my laser, try to point on the Scarab's limbs so I can jump onboard, okay?"

"Sir, yes sir," the both Marines said in response. The Scarab closed in on their position. When it was only a few meters away from their hideout, the Marines opened fire. The Rocket and laser both did perfect hits, destroying the limbs of the front legs. Dean took this chance to jump onboard the Scarab. He moved to the core, threw two frag grenades, and then he jumped off. The Scarab's explosion filled the air with blue.

"Good work Master guns', wait there for extraction." Dean waited, but suddenly a vine came up from the ground and grabbed his leg. It drew him down a large hole. What did these vines want with him?

The Librarian of Ceres was the last forerunner alive. He had been in cryo since the halo's activation until the Monitor of Ceres got him out and told him what happened. He spent his time out of cryo in mourning for all who died with the halo's activation. He told Lewis and Holstrom about the flood, and what Ceres truly was. Ceres was actually a Precursor construct. After the Precursors were driven out by the forerunner, the forerunner repurposed Ceres and made it a bomb shelter and an activation center. Lewis and Holstrom asked the forerunner how to get to the key without having the flood attack them. He said: "Take the path that seems the hardest."

All the fighters streaked down into the city, searching for the towers to take down. They found one, and engaged in several bombing runs. They repeated several times until they ran into some trouble.
Several marines and Covenant had become infected by the Flood, and they were using Rocket Launchers and Fuel Rod Cannons to try to take them down.

They have engaged the target for hours. It seems widely unsuccessful, even with Spartans coordinating the entire effort. Flood forms pile around the opening where they spawn. Lambda Squad is no where closer to blocking off the hole than when they first fired, all guns blazing.

"We're running out of ammo. We should retreat for now!" suggests Hattie.

Lambda Leader is aware of the situation. If the Spartans retreat, their brief campaign would be highly unsuccessful, along with dealing with lost reputation and trust.

"Pull back. This is too much for the four of us. Erebus, tight beam a transmission to report the status of the skirmish."

"Leader, something is preventing me from starting a communication link. Technology unknown. This would be the first time where my expertise has been bested," the AI said with regret.

"Try to locate the jammer, we'll have to deal with it soon," replied Lambda Leader as the two warthogs were revved, taking Lambda Squad away from the mess of Flood.

Archaic Chivalry looked as the two Reclaimers ran off to try and activate the Ceres Installation.
"Why do you still believe in these Reclaimers?", he asked the Librarian, "They fight valiantly, yes, but they fall down and simply feed the Flood and Hydra. And they're so primitive and violent."
"Was my race so different once?", the Librarian replied, "I have seen hope in them. They do not fight because they have to; they fight because they choose to. That is one thing that you may never understand Archaic Chivalry. Freedom of Choice. May you live up to your name in the defense of this installation. Farewell."
With that, the Librarian returned to his sanctum, never to leave it again. Archaic Chivalry watched, still puzzled at it all. Then he activated his teleportation system and returned to control room, giving orders to his forces that they should attempt to protect the Reclaimers across the planet at all costs.

Nogard slaughtered countless more of the Precursors and their robots. He continued his unstoppable rampage through the ship, eventually closing in on the bridge.
"Seal the door!", yelled one of the crewmen. This proved useless though as Nogard merely ripped through the door and charged onto the bridge, killing all there. Finding himself to not be on the flagship, he broke the front glass and took off to the next ship, letting that one crash down to the planet.

Blackheart teleported onto one of the crashed Precursor ships and set his Hydra controlled Constructors to work fixing it. As soon as they were finished on this ship and several others, he would set out for the skies. And from there, he would take the galaxy.....

"Dragons, take down those towers!", ordered Admiral Wilson
"Yes sir!", they replied, and barreled down the canyons between the Forerunner buildings.
They continued down the canyons, bombing several of the towers. "It's too quite", said Andrew
"Hey, guys", said Justin, "I got something on my radar...."
They all looked at their radar and saw what it was. Flood piloted Forerunner fighters.... firing rockets!
"Break!!", yelled Andrew. The Dragons broke formation and spun through the buildings in seperate directions.
"I told you that this was too easy!!", yelled Erika
"Give it a break and fire!", Britanny, her sister, yelled back
They continued to dodge left and right and fire bullets and rockets back on the Flood fighters. Britanny spun to the left, and made a Flood fighter get directly in the path of one of Erika's missiles. Cindle sped around the corner of a building, a half dozen fighters on her tail, as Britanni came around and bombed them all out. Luke and Justin pulled similar tricks, taking down more fighters. But the fighters didn't seem to stop.

ATHENIAN-000 wandered into the control as the humans inserted the key and then he watched them run. Ponting his finger at the key a bolt of fire sped straight towards the key knocking it out and almost to the edge of the platform.

"That was close," he said as the blue light faded and eventually dissapeared. Now to find those elites and humans, he thoguht walking out of the complex. He grabed his mongoose and turned it on. With a slight roar of the engine he was off, soon he would find them and take them out, sperate them and pick them off one by one. He saw one of his mercenaries and stopped by him letting him get on, luckly the mercenary had a sniper and they both began to look for Team Alpha and The Squad of something or another. After about 20 minutes of driving ATHENIAN-000 began to get tired of the constent vibrating of the Mongoose.

Finnaly the mercenary spotted them, "600 meters north, i see them," ATHENIAN turned and began to speed towards the group of SPARTANs and Covenant. ATHENIAN stopped the Mongoose and let the mercenary get out.

"Start to shoot at the hunters get them mad so they try to find what is shooting at them then try to pick off the drone and then attack the rest of the group snipers are a priorty," said ATHENIAN to the mercenary, he nodded and ATENIAN drove off and pulling a katana off his back drove full speed at the strange group of soldiers.

Darmind stred from the tower he had claimed, the foolish humans once they had deactivated the twoers and killed most of the flood he would move this tower awith his hive and leave the Doomind to his own devices. Soon everything will fall right into place. He watched a couple of human fighters trying to fight off the flood controlled Forerunner fighters. He lifted the shotgun off the wall and turned, to see several marines walk in. He and his Darkness flood all jumped straight at the marines, letting his shotgun fire blowing one of the marines sides straight out. turning and pumping his shotgun at the same time, something his own combat forms couldn't do, i.e multi task. Seeing the mairne with a Spartan Laser he quickly ran over hitting him over the head with the shotugn and shoving it into his stomach, firing putting in tens of pellets into his stomach and blowing out his entire stomach. The combat form grabed him with two of it's four heads and threw him across the room, he exploded half way and the charred remains of his body hit the ground. The combined human and Covenant forces neared their original camp, filled with enough ships to get them off the planet, if they were all still intact.
"Come on", said Amy, "We're almost home free"
But nothing ever goes as planned, or even as hoped, in war. With hardly a hundred yards to go, the group was attacked. Sniper fire rang out, bouncing off the Hunter's shields. Angered, they turned to try and see what had hit them, only to find nothing. Sniper fire once again rang, and the bond brothers saw their target. They fired their Fuel Rod Cannons, missing the quick target. Luzzda flew into the air, attempting to open fire from above, only to be shot in the wing and forced back to the ground. Jaig and Ank got next to him and covered his back, making sure no more sniper fire hit him. Katelynn, Ketynic and Nicholas started firing sniper rounds back at the sniper, but they didn't hit the mark. And then, a Mongoose drove up, a hooded figure driving it. The figure jumped off and attack Jemsal and James, who barely managed to hold their own against him.
"Who are you?", asked Jemsal
"They call me ATHENIAN-000", he replied, "I'd say it doesn't matter, since you won't be around much longer"
"That's what you think", said James as he pushed Athenian away. He and Jemsal attacked with their melee weapons, trying to take him down, but Athenian was too skilled of a sword fighter.
Jake and Samuel looked on as they fought off a few soldiers that had come with Athenian. "That's the guy we threw off the edge of that cliff", said Jake
"I guess not", said Sam
"You two, shut up!", yelled Jarikus, breaking one of the soldiers heads on his knee. Samorulan stabbed two more soldiers with his Spikers, and then rushed over to save Jake from getting knocked in the back of the head.
"Thanks", said Jake, and then turned to fire at several more soldiers.
"Amy", yelled James, "You and Ameigh take Nibesa, Jaig, Ank and Luzzda. Go to the base, get the ships ready. We'll join you as soon as we can"
"I won't leave you here", she replied stubbornly
"You have too"

They encountered relatively small amounts of Flood, and killed the few they found relatively easily. They continued to run at top speed, finally breaking through the tree line into a cleared area.
"Just a little further", said Amy
They climbed up over a while hill, and look down at where the camp had been. Ships had been parked everywhere, but now there were only a few left, some destroyed, most simply missing
"What happened?", asked Ameigh, "Where are they?"
"I don't know", Amy replied, "But both you're ship and ours are still here. Let's get 'em warmed up"
Jaig and Ank began to warm up the Endless Justice, while Ameigh tended to Luzzda's wounded wings.
"Nibesa, help Amy with the Thermopylae", said Ameigh
Nibesa rushed over to the Thermopylae and gave Amy a hand with the start up sequences. As soon as it made it halfway powered-up, Amy clicked on the ships' COM, as hers was somehow blocked.

James pushed Athenian back by hitting his katana with the butt of his Alternator Rifle. Jemsal rushed in with two Energy Swords and attacked viciously, though even his skills and two swords couldn't match Athenian. Then, Athenian brought his katana down on Jemsal's shoulder, cutting deep. Jemsal screamed in pain, and was nearly killed when James jumped in with two Combat Knifes, blocking the katana and slicing each of Athenian's arms.
The Athenian merely pulled his arms back and started kicking at him. He knocked James down and put his foot on his neck, preparing to crush it, when he got a surprise. Katelynn had come up from behind and injected a stun serum into his neck, knocking him unconcious.
"Thanks", said James, watching the mercenaries retreat. "Let's get to the Thermopylae. Clayton, Devyn, tie him up and bring him along. He'll make a nice prisoner; we can see what he was after"

The Precursor commander had decided that re-taking Ceres was too much of a hassle. They already had a galactic empire in another galaxy. They transcended into a "Warp-Speed" state and sped back toward thier galaxy.

Ceres was warming up. The Sentinels had interlocked themselves and prepared for the blast that would destroy Ceres. It was now 5 Hours until Activation. The time had come.

The Librarian put himself back into his Slipspace/Cryo Pod. He was to sleep. Forever.

Lewis looked at the UNSC Pillar of Winter. It was one of the newer ships in the fleet. He shook hands with the Squadron Commander and rested in his "bunk". Lewis wanted to go back to Earth. Holstrom looked over at Lewis. Holstrom had a wife back on Earth. Holstrom's Vulture's and Lewis' Hellcats were both destroyed with the UNSC Yamato. This battle would go down in history.

ATHENIAN-000 woke up from the drug indusded sleep, he didn't open his eyelids, but felt around for his sword. Not finding it he assumed the two squads had disarmed him, then he started to work on the haldcuffs that kept his hands behind his back. Like metal could keep the Athenian restrained, he used his fire to begin melting the metal and in two minutes he was free. From the smell he guessed that he was in a ship, a small ship. Which was going to by headed to a larger ship, good there i can escape and leave the system with the rest of Karma. Out of one of the windows a brute saw something.

"What is that?" one of the Brutes asked.

"I don't...." one of the SPARTANs began, but the small craft was hit with hundreds of .50 caliber rounds.

Athenian jumped up and grabed one of the SPARTANs by the neck and grabed the M6G pistol from it's holster.

"Good thats a start a pistol, now hand me my sword,"

Only 4 hours until they would all die... unless Fervor chose to halt the firing. Why would he do that, though? He knew he would survive regardless... the Flood would be destroyed, and so would so many of the Reclaimers and other wildlife on the pathetic planet. But he was still a Forerunner creation. It was his duty to guide and protect the Reclaimers... It was too confusing to the Monitor.

A Flood Combat Form rushed blindly at him and Fervor destroyed it with ease, using his defensive beam. The scarlet red beam hit dead-center on the Flood form's chest, making a large hole and causing it to drop to the floor, dead. "Nuisance..." he muttered, staring at the former Sangheili. He couldn't simply let these creatures suffer at the hands of the Flood... there were also the Hydra to account fo-

No. He must not think of the wellfare of anything other than himself. He was his own to control, no more a slave of those pathetic creatures that made him from scraps. Fervor utilized the teleportation grid and teleported himself to Archaic Chivalry.

"I suppose you remember me? We do need to catch up before the firing sequence begins" Fervor said as he reached the Monitor, and he chuckled silently to himself.

The end has come. Let loose your grasp on the chains of mortality, and ascend to your birthright. Let the Great Journey commence at last.

[edit] Aftermath

[edit] 143 (Lordofmonsterisland)

The combined forces of UNSC and Covenant Seperatist fleets exited slipspace. They had barely managed to get out of the system in time, but they had made it, leaving behind a ghost system. Ceres' superweapon had destroyed all life left in the system, and destroyed the planet itself, leaving it as asteroids floating in space.
Onboard the Annihilator, Team Alpha, Team Beta, Dragon Squadron and the Squad of Unrelenting Reparation stood around, discussing various things. Team Alpha, Dragon Squadron and Team Beta's members were mainly catching up on old times, since they hadn't seen each other in years. The Squad of Unrelenting Reparation, which had been nicknamed SpecOps Force Alpha by the UNSC forces, sat around listening to them, interested in their tall-tales. Amy and Ameigh sat to the side, laughing to themselves at the ridiculousness of some of the tales.
Fleet Admiral Wilson entered the room, smiling at the sight. He walked over next the group, nodding his head at Amy, who smiled in return, glad at his choice. Then, Wilson turned to Katelynn and smiled.
"Katelynn", he began, "When I told all of you about your parents, I didn't mention one thing about yours. One of your parents is still alive. Your mother died at the Battle of the Satellite, but your father survived" He paused, searching for words, "What I'm trying to say is, I'm your father"
Katelynn stared at him blankly for a minute, and embraced him in a big hug. James smiled grandly at this, before finally saying what had been on his mind.
"Well, that helps my case out quite a bit then", he said, "Admiral Wilson, may I have your daughter's hand in marriage, if she'll have me"
Admiral Wilson smiled at the boy. "Of course", he replied
"Then Katelynn", said James, pulling out a ring, "Will you marry me?"
She stared at him with a look of disbelief on her face for an uncomfortably long time, and then answered. "Yes", she said, "Yes, I'll marry you"

They were married onboard the Thermopylae, just like both of their parents had been. The wedding was grand, with most of the UNSC and Covenant forces attending.
Katelynn and James both thought about their dead parents that night, rubbing their gems and thinking of how proud they would have been.

In the asteroid remains of Ceres, Archaic Chivalry and a small group of Sentinels flew off, heading for the nearest Forerunner installation. And dragged with them, kept in a shut-down mode, was Discodant Fervor.

A hodge-podge group of ships traveled through slipspace, heading for any destination, so long as there was life for the taking. Inside the largest one, a large blue mass controlled all the other life in the small fleet. The Hydra had survived to fight another day.

Nogard flew through the depths of space. He had killed thousands of Precursors, including their commander, yet something was not right. He now had no lust for vengeance. In its place, there now burned a blazing passion for supreme control. Where it had come from, he knew not, but he had to have it. So he set out on a quest to find the technology he would need.....

The UNSC and Covenant fleets dispersed to various parts of the galaxy. The Squad of Unrelenting Reparation said their goodbyes, sad to have to leave such admirable comrades. But they would meet again, and they all knew it.
Fleet Admiral Wilson shook hands with Supreme Commander Dwan 'Onroal, bidding him a fond farewell.
"If only", said 'Onroal, "we had never come to that accursed planet. It would have been better if we had left it well enough alone"

[edit] 144 (Sgt. Johnson)

Lewis and Holstrom looked at Earth, Humanity's homeworld out the bridge of the UNSC Pillar of Winter. They were glad to be back home.

Lewis had to spend a month in an UNSC hospital for radiation exposure, and some minor injuries stemming from tree branches, and the crash landing of his longsword. He married an ONI Officer and she retired from active service with the UNSC. Lewis was later reassigned to the UNSC Training Corps and the 42nd Naval Squadron was disbanded. Lewis recieved the Red Legion of Honor for The Battle of Ceres, Two Medals of Honor, both for trying to activate Ceres, and the Silver Star for Meritorious Service on Ceres. He now (2557) on Mars, training new pilots. Him and his wife later had a son, who wanted to be a pilot just as much as his father.

Holstrom was met with scruitiny by the UNSC High Command. The incident was later cleared up as an over zealous Naval Officer didn't hear the warning from the 225th Naval Squadron. That Officer was later dishonorably discharched and demoted to the rank of Seaman. Holstrom was promoted to Rear Admiral (Lower Half) and he married the owner of a local business on Earth. The 225th Naval Squadron was officialy disbanded and cleared of all charges by the United Earth Government.

Lewis wrote letters to the families of Major Gregg Woods, Colonel Anthony Carr, Admiral Robert Valentino, and the families of all who died in the 42nd Naval squadron. He went to the memorial service while he was in the hospital for all who died in the Battle of Ceres.

Holstorm wrote letters to the families of all the Vulture Pilots, detailing why they had no choice but to go AWOL and how they were pardoned. Holstorm looked out the window from his office in Sydney, Australia. Earth was safe, and it was time to move on and rebuild the UNSC's fleet.

All records of Ceres were deleted from the UNSC's system. The coordinates, the battle, all were deemed classified. There was a private Memorial Service for all who died, held in Australia. The survivors of the battle fought, and won to have the Battle of Ceres put back into the system for all to learn about it. They won that right in 2558 after two years of appeals and court hearings. But, as a reminder, at the beginning of all documents pertaining to Ceres, it said: " It should have been left well enough alone, but... "

The debriefing of Commander Lewis has spread light on these new creatures. The Hydra are classified as a Class-5 Enemy, the same as the flood for thier leathality. The Precursors cannot be classified due to the extreme technological nature of thier equipment. As per UNSC HIGHCOM, all documents pertaining to Ceres are to be classified ABOVE TOP SECRET and/or destroyed. Disband the 42nd Naval Squadron and the 225th Naval Squadron immediately following debriefing. Commander Lewis has been reassigned to Training Command and Captain Holstrom has been re-assigned to UNSC FLEETCOM following a 6 Month long vacation. Recommend ONI watch over Lewis and Holstrom. As my personal comment: We should've left Ceres well enough alone.

As evident of the footage from SPARTAN-G023's HUD camera, we can notice some distinct enemies. First I would like to point out, the Hydra. This organism is extremly powerful and can be seen wiping out our forces with relative ease. In case of future combat, orbital bombardment recommended. Next as I would like to point out, are the Precursors. They seem to be far more advanced and powerful than the forerunners, who were the ones that created much of the technology that the covenant copies. It seems as though these enemies both pose a significant threat to the UNSC. It is recommended that all history of Ceres, and the battle that took place around it, be purged from the public database and make sure that only high-ranking Intelligence officers can access it. If anyone knew of what went on, it may be a serious blow to morale, if or when these enemies are encountered again.

James took one last look at the monument erected to commemorate those lost in the battle. Yet another thing on my CSV that nobody should ever experience again. He thought. He gave one last salute before leaving, and a small grenade was left nearby the graves as a his testament to all those lost. Although against his beliefs, he gave a small prayer to them, hoping that they might find happiness in another lifetime.

When Admiral Chow returned back to Earth, he was given a massive welcome, and stemming from that, an invitation to join the UNSC Secuirity Council. Something that he always wanted to do. Vice Admiral William Falconi would the active head of the fleet until Admiral Chpw decided to return to active duty. "Well Delta, now I've seen it all. Advanced aliens, new flood, I've probably seen more in my lifetime than most people have in one hundred years." He said to the AI. "Pardon me sir, but what should I do with these files?" Asked the AI. "Hide them, better leave the on their own, and may future generations never again hear of what happened there. Everything will be fine if we can just leave that kind of stuff well enough alone....."

Dean looked at the confused Marines. He couldn't say that he blamed them. He was just as confused as they were.
"Eh, hello Marines, can ya' tell me where I am?" "Ok, eh, you're at the Dawnlight, sir, but I want to know how you got here in the first place."
"Last thing I remember was that I was in the clutches of a plant-like Flood form. However, I was able to break free, and then I pushed a button in the room I was in. Then light sorrounded me and now I'm here!"
The Marines looked even more confused than earlier, but then a UNSC scientist stepped forward, saying: "It could have been a teleporter, because we picked up a strange device on Ceres and placed it in this room. It could have been the other end of the portal."
Dean didn't follow his last sentence, but it didn't matter, he thought to himself. What really mattered was that he was away from the Flood. He needed a break from war.

When Dean returned to Earth, he was awarded with the last medals the UNSC could give him, he had already received all others. For some time, he was a training instructor for Marine recruits, and also spent some time with other Spartan-Is during his freetime. The last battle was well enough alone.

The Darkmind had made it stealing the Forerunner city from the other flood he had also escaped Doomind, now he was free to rebuild his colony and assmilate the Universe. Unknown to Darkmind someone had boarded his city and was intent on destorying him. On the city sat Omega Stleath squad waiting for their opportunity to destory the city with the nuke they had smuggled on.

ATHENIAN-000 looked from his cabin on the Ocean's Pride, What a wonderfuul day to be free, he thought to himself pulling out the magnum sidearm he kept after he had escaped from Team Alpha and SpecOps Team Alpha. He looked at the pistol and took out the small device inside the ammo clip. It was a vile of the SPARTANs blood which he had stolen the pistol from. He took it and put it with the others in his cupboard. he had one for every SPARTANs he had incountered except for Team Alpha, they would be his next targets. He conjured a small flame and began to heat up some clothes that he would then put on his back. He was getting tired and his back was sore, he needed to see the ships doctor. The chemicals that let him have his powers, might be toxic and might be actually killing him. No time to think about that, he thought putting the hot towels on his back.

"Hot then cold, hot then cold," he said to himself lying down and falling asleep as the cryo closed around him. He felt Well Enough Alone.

"That was close..." muttered Lambda Leader. His visuals continuously fog and clear up as his anti-fog devices embedded in his visor kick in.

The foursome fled the site as they run dangerously low on ammunition, then they receive word that the system is set for destruction, causing the Leader to sweat. 12 hours to get out of there, with no method of doing so. After driving through the terrain, they came across an abandoned hangar, coincidentally holding four banshees with full fuel capacity. They ditched their warthogs and took the ships for a spin, and manages to get to the closest UNSC camp with 2 hours to spare. They boarded the last pelican at the camp, and made for the UNSC Spitfire. The ship entered slipspace soon after they board. The whole scenario caused the squad leader to get nervous - they were within an hour of 100% mortality rate destruction, without any means of decreasing that percentage.

"Another long day," sighs the leader of Lambda Squad.

As with all other information, Lambda Squad's participation was deemed classified. The number of Flood they have eliminated in the hours of firefight were estimated to be 100,000, making them heroes, of sorts, for the protection of the UNSC from a bitter enemy. They are well enough alone.

Omega watched from the Hephaestus' external camera views as the planet exploded, disintigrating everything within range of the piercing blue light. It was breathtaking, and yet, he knew that if he was in there he would have been destroyed instantaneously.

The fact remained; it looked beautiful. "Set course for Earth. I'd like to pay a little visit" the AI said, and ship descended into the endless plains of slipspace.

The sentinels turned away from Fervor and faced Chivalry, weapons out. "Enough, enough" Fervor said, and they put away their weapons.

"You truly haven't changed, have you Chivalry?" Fervor said, and the fellow Monitor simply stared. "I'm afraid we can't have that. We may meet again, but for now..."

823543 Discordant Fervor fired his defensive beam into the middle of Chivalry's sphere, engulfing it entirely in a beam of red light.

The Bridge flew open only to find two Brain Froms and somthings nobody has seen before... "We must escape!", the monitoe cakled, "If we are not to be Destroyed along with the infestation!". Hundreds of Constructors fled from the skies to the engine room of the draco. 'OBELISK RUNTIME SYSTEMS ONLINE' the onscreen bridge center hummed and the creature span arround. "ध्याअष्टायीLअ" it screamed like a Cat in Water. "णिपाणिनि!" I fired before it could fling up it's arm. I was afraid... then I noticed that the screen then changed.. '"FLOOD" OVERIDE SLIPSPACE SYSTEM ONLINE: 40%' I fired titanium shells out of my m90 at the creture once again adn it ripped into it's skin. '"FLOOD" OVERIDE SLIPSPACE SYSTEM ONLINE: 87%' I tossed in a C40 and fled to the top as Guilty Spark followed. The Bridge Was a wreck. The Main View Screen Fell and cracked but i did it, the flood were killed. and the rest would be. they would not escape the system. So Hamishi Sat and waited as the entire planet was Evacted and the rest were killed. He would die nobily, he would die brave. As for 343 Guilty Spark II, He stayed by my side and also enjoyed the flood's final destruction. --þ†öW讥 ^ (UNSC Fleetcom)(UNSC History)(UNSC Mision Log) 21:06, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
