Jarga 'Shield & Sword' Jastenon VIII was a Machina Fleet Commander from the Jastenon Lineage. He showed interest in the Kig-yar, particularly in those from the Kig-Yar Union, the newest Kig-Yar faction which was struggling heavily to evolve into a powerful faction. He later joined the Necros Sympathizers.

While being a clever military strategist, Jarga is also a decent scientist and mechanic, and have shown very great interest in making contact with other species. While his Lineage was already known for having good relations with the United Sangheili Republic, Jarga was the first to start showing interest in the Kig-Yar, the Kig-Yar Union in particular. After explaining the benefits the Lineage could get by establishing relations with the Kig-Yar, the Lineage leadership approved that Jarga would lead a delegation to Eayn and start negotiations with the Union.
Jarga is a fierce warrior, but also very popular, and would have made a popular politician if he would have decided to follow a political path, which he didn't. He became known in the Lineage for being able to get his troops to follow him so easy, partially due to his powerful appareance, but also due to his talent with words. Even the Grand Senator of the Kig-Yar Union, Dok'G-Lak, have occasionally asked him for advice.
