Kaneda Tetsuo was born, son of Matthew Tetsuo, the Leader of the Yakuza mob, one of Japans largest crime organisations. Kaneda, would eventually lead it, and become an important member of the UFF.

Kaneda was raised mostly by his fathers bodygaurds, namely by Weber Yamamoto, thus was taught how to fight at a very young age. Though he came to dislike his father, as he saw him four times in his first 15 years of life. But when Kaneda became 15, his father showed him the inside out of the Yakuza, in order to train him to take over the buisness next. Kaneda agreed, and on his 19th Birthday his father "retired" and gave the leadership of Yakuza to his son.

Kaneda made the group more militarised, as well as started producing their own vehicles, such as the Tak Bikes. These led to several brawls with the UNSC, most of which the Yakuza still lost. Angry, Kaneda signed them into the UFF, in order to defeat the UNSC.

[edit] Role in Battle of the Second Ark

Kaneda jointly led the UFF in battle on the second ark, with Rasputin Volveneuk. He had "donated" YS-07 to the Shield Corporation, to aid their study into cloning, and also worked for them as a mercenary, along with his soldiers. When Rasputin returned with reports of non-sunlit flood, the Shield Corporation sent Kaneda and his entire Tak Bike force (along with Weber in a tank) to destroy this floods gravemind, Mitch Peters. On the way there, they encountered Marley Valea, and after a short scuffle, continued to their goal. They found the Gravemind deep inside the Ark, with the Tak's successfully holding off the flood. Mitch himself, however, succeeded in hitting Kaneda off his Tak, though Kaneda still managed to hold him off with a Spartan Laser until the rest of his soldiers could back him up, seemingly killing Mitch (though the gravemind survived and would build his forces back up). Kaneda was also involved in a battle with Astuto forces on the Ark, as they were meant to capture the Astuto second in command (recently turned commander) Gencage, though she escaped the battle, the UFF quickly took down the Astuto forces, and Kaneda fought off a Spartan, (though he only one as another Tak ran into him), soon they had captured a large amount of the Astuto force, when they got a call stating that their forces were under attack by Nogard, who had until now been their ally.

Kaneda is suprisingly acrobatic, as well as a good shot. Though he is a poor hand to hand fighter, he makes up for it in his skill with vehicles.
