Karen Elizabeth Wakes was an officer of the UNSC Office of Naval Intelligence, and would feature prominently as a member of the UNSC Department of Strategic Intelligence during the climatic actions of the Galactic Era at the dawn of the 27th century. She would inherit a familial legacy from her infamous grandparents, Lieutenant Commander Wakes and Commander Melanie Forge, two ONI officers who would be responsible for ending the Memory Crisis in 2554.
During the Galactic Era, Wakes would assume rank of full Commander (CMDR, O-5) and would serve as the Associate Director of Operations of Strategic Intelligence, receiving an autonomous command, UNSC Meridian Dream, a Block 300 Oracle-class prowler (SRP-042).
