The M113 Scout Rifle System is an accurized variant of M55C Enhanced Battle Rifle, designed for mid range combat in urban or closed environment where the M1091 or SRS99 is too long or heavy.

Uses

The weapon is ideally used in environments where other rifles are too large or cumbersome. As such, its ideally used in support of special operations teams, or in urban combat scenarios. Well suited to asymmetric warfare, it's lethal against unarmoured and unshielded targets, and with a steady hand can drop hardened infantry with ease. Because of its size and weight, its also preferred for use by airborne forces, and forward scouts.

Operation

The rifle shares much of its components with the M55C EBR, in fact, with a few parts, any M55C can be modified to replicate the performance, as can any M113 be modified back down to M55C EBR capabilities. The Main differences between the M55C and the M113 are the modified, lightened stock, adjusted fire grouping, with only 'safe' and 'fire', with no facility for automatic or burst fire, modified forward rail interface and a new, free floating, fluted barrel settled in thermoplastic bedding to reduce recoil and increase stability. Other than this, the internal functionality of the M113 is no different from its parent rifle.
