"There's nothing as satisfying in life as watching four of these things carpet bomb an enemy compound."
―Anonymous Marine

The M20 Firefly Multiple Launch Rocket System is a UNSC artillery unit. The MLRS is used to perform mid to long-range artillery strikes against heavily entrenched units, being used more often than not as a barrage weapon for saturating an area with fire. The vehicle consists of a tracked chassis with an armoured cab, carrying the crew and the necessary systems for driving the vehicle, priming and aiming the weapons, and coordinating and remotely operating the weapon system. On the back of the chassis is the self-erecting launcher platform outfitted with two munition pods. These can be set up to carry six Crossbow rockets, with an intermediate range and high damage potential, using high explosive warheads or deadly submunitions, or carry a single Khan Cruise Missile, capable of heavy damage against a precise target, with a wide array of exotic warheads available for it. The Firefly has the full range of accurate targeting system and communication hardware for precise targeting, submunition spread, and fire co-ordination.

The Firefly is often used for two purposes. The first is engaging large armoured formations from long distances, where the common anti-armour submuntions can annihilate multiple targets. The second is for 'grid square removal service', causing devastation to a square kilometre of area, usually used for heavily entrenched enemies in non-strategic positions.

UNSC Remarks

"Not as accurate as the M3 or as long lasting but it does a heck lot more damage in a short time. That, and it frightens the shit outta anybody facing us."

"A battery of these can lay waste to a armoured column, town or army. That's why they are loved so much."

"Personally? I can fire all my rockets, fuck off before counter batteries open then hide somewhere and take half an hour to reload but I'd much prefer to just have a Spam."
