The M26 Grenade Launcher Module is a UNSC rifle attachment, designed to increase the effectiveness of UNSC infantry weapons at medium ranges by simply attaching a small grenade launcher to the underside of weapons like the MA6A Assault rifle.
The M26 GLM fires 25mm grenades fed from a tube on the weapon. These grenades are hand loaded, with space for two in the tube and one in the breech. The grenade launcher must be cocked with a cocking handle running adjacent to the tube on the left side. The grenade launcher has a rearward trigger and a small pistol grip for stabilising and firing the grenade launcher. The grenade launcher has a cold forged barrel and a carbonized breech, to ensure maximum temperature control. The gun functions most effectively when combined with a Fire Control Scope, allowing the munitions to be point detonated against targets in defilade.
