Design

The M2 Amphibious Support Drone is a robotic land and aquatic vehicle designed to move as fast over land and under the sea as possible. It is designed to provide anti-explosive projectile (fuel rod rounds, grenades, rockets, etc.) cover for friendlies and to hold ammunition stockpiles for them behind armor plating.

The M2 is equipped with anti-gravity pods powered by the on-board hydrogen that it uses to hover above the ground. Propulsion jets are used to propel the drone rapidly around.

Like the M1, the M2 is constructed of a variable-density material that allows the drone to sink or float.

Armament

The M2 is only lightly armed with one .50 Cal automated turret that has a maximum range of 650 meters.

Power

There are three series of M2 drones, each one with a different power source.

Hydrogen Engine

The standard M2 Amphibious Support Drone is equipped with a hydrogen engine, providing cheap, efficient energy for a long duration.

Remote Power

M2(R) drones on planets held and fortified by the UNSC are equipped with wireless power modules, enabling the fusion reactors in the bases to power the drone remotely, thus reducing weight and increasing its speed.

Fusion Reactor

An experimental line of M2's equipped with fusion reactors were field tested. They proved to be lighter and more efficient than the other two series, but were as then too expensive for mass production.
