- "Fucking rabbits. Everywhere we go, some stupid faggot has introduced them and no matter how hostile the alien critters, bunnys survive. Stupid lil bastards like to snuggle up where the earth is warmest, usually on top of a landmine where it has warmed the soil above it. They won't set off a tank mine, not nearly heavy enough, but they will set off the APERS. Then its bunny heaven. Means at first glance, you can tell where anti tank mines are cos of the bunny droppings."
- ―Lance Corporal Lucy Shepard
The M341 Anti-Tank Mine is a UNSC anti tank mine.
The M341 is a Anti tank mine, relying on pressure to activate it, activating when either pressure more than 300 kilogram deforms the pressure plate temporarily, when the magnetic induction sensor is alerted by the proximity of a large mass of magnetic metal or when the seismic sensors are set off by the vibrations of a vehicle moving or the engine vibrations, all of which prompts the mine to interrogate for a IFF signal. If there is no response, the mine lights the fuse. The explosive content is a dozen EXCALIBUR incendiary flechettes which penetrate the vulnerable underside of vehicles and cause internal fires.
Like all UNSC Mines it can be set to have a life span, after which it explodes and it can be deactivated and reactivated by coded signals. These signals are composed on near unbreakable codes, preventing the enemy from randomly bombarding the battlefield with codes to deactivate them.
