"Damn, these things are strong. It might be the grandfather of the MA5B, but its improvements definitely outshadow its drawbacks."
―Anonymous Army Sergeant

The MA37A2 Individual Combat Weapon System, also known as the MA37A2 Assault Rifle and known officially as the 7.62x51mm, Misriah Armories Model-2437/Alpha-Two-Variant Individual Combat Weapon System, is a firearm first used by the United Nations Space Command Army and later the United Federation to Restore Humanity Surface Division. Introduced in 2530 as a direct modification to the MA37 ICWS Assault Rifle rather than the redesigned models such as the MA5B and MA5C, among others. The main goal of the MA37A2 was to improve range and accuracy in order to better combat the mighty forces of the Covenant.

Variant Differences

It should be noted that the "A1" differs from the "B" and "C" variants in that the MA37A2 (classified as the MA5A2 by the Marine Corps and Navy despite it not being used in said branches) is a modified version of the standard MA37 whereas the MA5B is a redesign on the same base principles; this implies that there could very well be an MA5BA2, though such a rifle has not been built.
