[edit] Battle of New Hope
After countless of failed operations to contain the outbreak, the situation became interplanetary as the infection soon spreads from the initial planet, New Hope to its neighbouring planet. The UNSC arrived at the eleventh hour and set up a barricade to destroy infected ships. As Operation:GATEWAY was reinforced with multiple divisions of the UNSC, several tertiary factions surfaced. Most of these factions involve themselves with the intention of obtaining the infection for their own use while others entered with purpose to test out their experimentation and prototypes.
The UNSC conducted and resolved several issues after experiencing heavy losses as they battled the Flood. It was after the major explosion of the local companies' building the secret was loose. Through a series of cross-referencing between the old Flood and the new Flood, ONI claimed that the new Flood has become more strategised and resilient than before. A final measure was to be consider to end this infection from spreading to other systems. The UNSC rearmed their nuclear warheads and launched a total of 28 missiles at the planet, wiping it clean. The end result was a total wipeout of the Flood with some minor losses on the Allied Factions.
