Nur ‘Vadum was Sangheili Junior Ship Master active during the Remnant and Necros Wars. He was the commanding officer of the USR Reborn Oracle.

[edit] Early Life
Nur was born on Sanghelios in the 'Vadum Keep in 2569 to Toro 'Vadum, the Kaidon and subsequently Chief Elder of the Vadum lineage. Unlike other Sangheili, Nur had no uncle, and was instead raised by his father's oldest sister, Viru 'Vadum, who was also the only female elder in the Vadum Keep.
Viru decided to teach Nur in the arts of strategy and mind over physical combat. This caused several of the other Vadum younglings to look down on Nur, believing he chose an easy path.
However, in 2587, when he was 18 years old, the training had paid off; he was a superior strategist compared to most of the other recruits. He assigned with the United Sangheili Republic Navy later on during the year.
[edit] Military Career
Nur made swift progress through the naval ranks, quickly attaining the rank of Sub Ship Master on the USR Reborn Oracle, a Hit Man-class Stealth Frigate. In 2590, the ship was attacked by three Kig-yar Pirate ships. Reborn Oracle was hit by a plasma torpedo close to the bridge, killing the ship master and part of the crew. Nur was as a result forced to take command of the vessel. In a dangerous maneuver, he directed the ship into an asteroid. Despite several parts of the ship being hit and damaged by the various rocks, the Reborn Oracle got out safely, while two of three pirate ships were crushed in the field. The remaining vessel fled as Reborn Oracle prepared to attack.
After the space battle, Nur was promoted to Junior Ship Master, taking official command of the Reborn Oracle. In 2593, Reborn Oracle's Field Master was replaced with a new one, Tora 'Moram. The two officers quickly became friends.
Later that years, as the rogue elite assassin Ath 'Taranee had captured the space station Sincere Apology, Nur held the Reborn Oracle at safe distance, while he sent the ground team lead by Tora onto the station. After the mission, he and Tora befriended the Spec Ops Major (later Spec Ops Sub Commander) Maak 'Zharon. Together, the three became known as the Brotherhood of Reborn Oracle.

Nur is an excellent strategist and commander, his mind having been sharpened by his aunt during his childhood. He has learned that going by the book is not always the best alternative, and prefers to think up his own solutions. However, he is still open to advice from others. His friends mention that he has a strange ability to always make the right decision if he has several choices.
