He volunteered for the unit and quickly rose through the ranks to his current position of Staff Sergeant. Later he was shifted to a makeshift battalion in Tokyo that later defended against a Brute advance. Pierce survived the battle and was decorated for his actions and for moral purposes. Pierce had been born 2531 in Kyoto, Japan to his Korean mother and Japanese/White father. Soon afterwards they moved to Southern California where Pierce went to school there. Because of his parents he had learned three languages, Korean, Japanese, and English. Pierce fell behind in school and often slept during class spending most of his time with his friends Andrew Park, Aaron Han, Steven Lee, Bryan Ki and Jon Chin pursuing their passion of B-boying (Breakdance) instead of studying. At sixteen both of his parents were killed in a car accident and he began to live on his own with the help of a wealthy family friend. Pierce would soon drop out of school to continue his Bboying and soon go by the name Bboy Wing. He would later start a crew known as Arms Race Krew and would later win Battle of the Year 2548 on Earth. With his life dream complete he tried to continue his life as a dancer however he was due for a draft notice so instead Pierce would than decided to enlist to gain the better benefits.

[edit] Enlistment

Pierce seemed to raise during training, he was put as squad leader during basic. To keep away from the fighting Pierce took the opportunity to train as a sniper after excelling in sharpshooting. This kept him off the battle front for two and a half months. Afterwards he was attached to a unit and sent to the Planet Hera where his force was sent to recapture the capital Crystal City.

[edit] Crystal City

Crystal City would become Pierce's baptism of fire, there he and his company made an airborne insertion into the city's outskirts where four other insertions were being made. Pierce was on the first wave and fought his way outward from the LZ as more and more of his unit poured in. They would soon make their way towards the center of the city as the other four forces did the same. As Pierce moved with his unit he took part in heavy urban combat. When they reached the city center they where meet with a company of ODSTs. Pierce's unit mostly decimated from heavy fighting would be shifted into the ODST ranks and fight along side. It was here that an ODST observed Pierce in combat, afterwards he approached Pierce and told him he should volunteer for the ODSTs. The second day of fighting brough relief as the Covenant were defeated and pushed out of Crystal City. Broken Crystals

After Crystal City Pierce was asked and later requested to join the ODSTs, wanting to fight with the best Pierce volunteered and rose through the ranks to Staff Sergeant. Inbetween Crystal City and the First Battle of Earth Pierce has been involved in numerous engagements that varied in size and importance. He was attached to a unit onboard the UNSC Frigate "Kaze" that was stationed over the southern island of Japan, Kyushu.

Pierce was deployed with his platoon to Nagasaki where they were to scout for Brute forces that had been deployed to the area. Soon after landing the platoon was attacked and decimated leaving Pierce the sole survivor. He hid in a tall building as Brute forces overwhelmed the rest of his unit and forced the human forces outside of the city. Pierce tried to make his way to friendly lines, on his way he found Hanako Asahina, unknown to him a popular Japanese singer and dancer, in a Pelican wreck. They both made their way out of the city to later find an Elite force from a downed ship that helped them exit the city. A Rescue

Afterwards Pierce had been given a week and a half of rest for his actions in Nagasaki for the rescue of Hanako. He spent that time with her in a distant command center.

  • Seoul

Then Pierce was redeployed to Seoul where his new unit would try to stop a Loyalist advance. However they were heavily outnumbered and many of Pierce's new platoon was killed including every member of his squad.

  • Tokyo

After leaving Seoul he was shifted into a makeshift battalion in Tokyo where there a bottleneck was formed to hold off a Brute advance with the help of Elite reinforcements. During the battle Pierce would have lost his life if it weren't for the miraclous actions of the Dragon Squadron who provided close air-support. Afterwards a flood dispersal pod landed close by, Pierce under the influence of painkillers took a flamethrower and quickly eliminated the threat. Afterwards he was given a few days of rest which involved an award ceremony for his actions in Seoul and Tokyo both for his bravery but also for moral, people in need of heroes in a time of desperation.

Then Pierce was put into an ODST team, Team Two-Three, who took action in Beijing. They were inserted by Pelican in the ocean than made their way from the beach into a nearby city were they set up ambush points for Covenant supply lines. Once they got to Beijing they moved throughout the city taking out rear echelon units before moving to the aid of a nearby unit that was under siege. They would be reinforced by an Elite/Human force. Soon they would be pulled out.

  • Pusan

Two-Three would see more action in Pusan where they made an airborne insertion with an overstrength brigade in an effort to push the Loyalist from the Korea. Pierce would be noted for his actions as a sniper when he kept a Brute company pinned, however untold by myth he had the aid of mortar fire. Soon the push out of Pusan would be completely and Pierce would find himself back in Seoul.

  • Seoul

In Seoul Pierce was involved in urban combat to recapture the capital city. By the time most of the city had been recaptured the Human-Covenant War was brought to an end.

[edit] The War's End

Though the war came to an end Pierce didn't, he was sent along with Team Two-Three and even Hanako to fight on two other planets against rebels and any remnants of the Covenant Loyalists. During that time he, Hanako and Team Two-Three would be transferred into the 77th Airborne Regiment. Afterwords in 2556 he was finally able to return home, or what was left of it. Hanako and Pierce became busy with activities to help rebuild, resupply, and simply rebuild moral. The couple was used for public relations with the theme of a flower blossoming from a forest fire. During this time Hanako and Pierce also married on April 17th, 2557. They lived extremely comfortably from Hanako's career and Pierce's finicial aid given to veterans. Two years after their marriage they gave birth to a daughter, Sakura Hayase on January 10th 2559.

Pierce and his family would make their home north of Tokyo near the coast where Pierce would spend his free time with Hanako or Sakura, as a side job he would take up writing and would publish three books, one a best seller about his service in the Great War. However critics would claim that the best seller title came from his wife's connections.

Pierce still stayed in the UNSC, after his actions against rebels Pierce was given a battlefield commission now making him an Officer. He was transferred out of Team Two-Three to Special Forces but he still kept in close contact with the members. Pierce helped rebuild the ODST way of training and combat. In 2579 he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

When news of the Necros War broke out Pierce was again asked to serve commanding an ODST division, however he refused. During the Human-Covenant War he made a promise to God that if he was able to survive he would live out the rest of his days peacefully. And so he did with Hanako and Sakura by his side.

[edit] Sakura Hayase

Sakura is the daughter to Hanako and Pierce. She would later marry Tsubasa "Wing" Yamato's son, Tatsuya Yamato. Pierce would have Tsubasa transferred as his aid when he became a captian which lead to two and their families to become very close. She would become an actress for T.V. dramas in Asia with the help of her mother's connections. Sakura and Tatsuya would give birth to Pierce's grandson Kazuya Pierce Yamato.

[edit] Kazuya Pierce Yamato

Pierce would later spend a considerable time with his grandson Kazuya Pierce Yamato along with his friend Tsubasa "Wing" Yamato. As the two old veterans spent time with their grandchild they recalled stories of their time during the War. When Kazuya enlisted Pierce would use his position and connections to keep Kazuya from hotzones until the Necros War broke out.
