Design

The QR8 is a light strike UAV designed in an interceptor and light ground attack role. It has a maximum ceiling of 75,000 feet and can reach speeds of Mach 2.7.

Armament

As the QE8 Strike UAVs are multi-mission vehicles, their weaponry varies depending on their objectives. Standard equipment includes two M50 Vulcan Miniguns. Other weaponry ranges from Air-to-Air missiles, Air-to-Ground missiles, etc.

Power

There have been three series of QE UAVs, each one equipped with different methods of power.

Hydrogen Engine

The hydrogen engine is the standard means of power supply for the QE series UAV. It is highly efficient, but doesn't last as long as other methods.

Remote Power

Remote power is only used when the UAV is launched from a UNSC base or ship. This cuts down on weight, as the standard power supply can be removed.

Fusion Reactor

An experimental line of UAVs was created that harnessed the power of fusion energy. However, these were too expensive, and were eventually fitted with cheaper, less efficient power methods.
