Spartan Team Gamma 2 was formed on October 24th 2539 on military planet Geer. Although all team members were trained on Reach. The squad has been known from their famous save of Geer as well. All members of Gamma 2 are officially by the year 2552 had a tour of 36 missions. Though their future is still being written. And one of the first SPARTAN 2.5 teams forged

A mission very covert a complete success compared to the first operation. Only gamma 2 was sent in where they infiltrated Planet Yu' hed a covenant armory planet. They infiltrated the large facility undetected only by one grunt but he was disposed of. Most contacts were of the covenant worker they were silently disposed of. Only 1 contacts reported and caused 2 spartan deaths of Gamma 2. Though the team still planted 2 C7 satchel bombs inside the building and extracted out with the fallen spartans as well.
[edit] Battle or Protection of Geer
Gamma 2 and several other Spartan squads were sent to Geer to prevent the Covenant glassing of the planet. None of Gamma 2 was killed as they hijacked a Covenant destroyer hover close to the surface of Geer. After taking over the destroyer Gamma aimed the the glassing cannons at the other destroyers. Destroying them and then planted 1 thermo in the engine room of the ship and bailing out. Though the battle for Geer was a major loss of troops it would have been worse if the Covenant glassed it. Geer is now home to Gamma 2 and soon to be formed Gamma 3 squads.
[edit] Battle for Orin
Almost the same situation as Geer though before Geer this is when SPARTAN-089G wasn't team leader though this was Gamma 2's first planet protection mission. Which was a major loss. As team leader SPARTAN-678G Gregory died along with the other 2 spartans. And Gary was named team leader. The planet was glassed and the UNSC evacuated the planet. [edit] The 2 battles south of New Mombasa crater
Gamma 2 was part of the Major Bricks squadron retreating south of what was once New Mombasa. The first battle which was named (Battle of Outskirts 6) Was a minor loss to Brick's squadron as they lossed half of his men. Then 7 days later when they hit the south of Africa to a deserted city named Capetown where UNSC battlecruisers dropped off a new prototype MAC gun that fires from land. The battle was called (Battle of New capetown) Though the battle would have never been won with out Gamma 2's help when they planted a Vector bomb in the middle of a Brute regiment. This is one of many Earth battles on the 2nd battle of Earth.

Depending on year right now in the Halo storyline. Gamma 2 is in Los Angeles protecting civilians fighting the covenant loyalists. The year 2553 they are on Arctic IV with the UNSC force in the flood hole tunnels trying to survive. The year 2570 they are on Earth trying to save humanity from a new breed of parasite similar to the flood but more contagius as it is severely familiar to the 21st century's solanum virus but more potent and deadly.
