The SPI Mark II V/W Combat Upgrade was a modified version of the standard SPI armor that the SPARTAN-IIIs wear. The main difference between this armor and the unmodified SPI armor is that this armor is completely water and vacuum tight, allowing it to be used in space. It also sports reactive yellow foam, similar to that used on UNSC docking stations, to fill holes when they are opened to vacuum. It was created in 2547, and sports 120 minutes of oxygen (held in tanks on the armor, which have triple non-leak redunducy).
