The Syphodyte are a non-sentient Social and military race of aliens, from the planet Syphos, on the far side of the galaxy to humanity.

The Syphodyte were once a peaceful race, and even during the fall of the precursors and the forerunner, they just watched, hoping for them, that their allies would win. After their downfall, they continued to spread and gain more knowledge.For nearly 400'000 years, they lived in peace with all other species they came across.

It was then that the syphodyte empire was formed and they even created a safe place for all the species they came across, a tiny section of the galaxy that they owned.

[edit] The Exclamators

There time of peace ended nearly 1000 years before the UNSC's discovery of the syphodyte when one of the species in the empire split away and called themselves the The Exclamators. They decided against the empire and failed to negotiate with them. The Syphodyte watched as the exclamators tore the empire in half, attacking worlds and killing millions.

The Syphodyte changed and created an army. They killed almost all the species they had once protected for thousands of years and set out to destroy the exclamators and anything that tried to stop them.

[edit] Style of Warfare

Syphodytes use a rare style of warfare, using as few of their soldiers as possible, but will use as many as neccasary to win a battle. The highest rank seen in combat was a Commander but it is thought that most of the army ranks fight.

[edit] Commander and Sub Commander

The commander and the sub commander are the highest ranking Syphodytes seen in combat. Their weapons consist of two wrist mounted plasmoid mini-guns, several high powered pump blast rifles, a jump pack, YY21 plasmoid grenades and four sypher blades for close combat. The sub commander has exactly the same but no plasmoid mini-guns.

Usually sent out in groups, they stalk down their enemy, and have a small cannon which they will fire occasionally. They also tend to charge their enemies, sending them flying through the air.

[edit] Snipers

The Syphodyte snipers are an extremely good shot, being able to see nearly half a mile without a scope. They rarely go straight into combat, but spend several minutes practicing and aiming. They are equipped with a X Plasmoid Range Rifle, a plasmoid 94 handgun.

[edit] Heavy Weapons

The heavy weapons Syphodyte has a tendancy to run at the enemy whilst firing at them, possibly killing themselves. They are the sacrificial warriors of the Syphodyte. They use the 909 Plasmoid Missile cannon, a Pump blast rifle and a Plasmoid mini-gun. They are seen in groups of threes or twos.

The expert infantry usually come in groups of 4's or 5's and use two Plasmoid hand rifles and YY20 grenades.

The basic infantry have had little training and do not posess any special ways of fighting. They use a Plasmoid Rifle.

During the Syphodyte campaign, they were assaulted by humans and exclamtors until they had lost almost everything except their most precious thing, Syphos. The UNSC and the exclamators launched an all-out assault on the homeworld, lasting a week and a half.Just before the UNSC/Exclamator victory, the remaining Syphodyte forces flee into uncharted space through the portal, but the emporor, Saranath stays behind. He sacrifices himself by destroying the homeworld and part of the UNSC fleet.

As of 2591, it was reported that The Syphodyte still existed, when an entire UNSC battlegroup disappeared, and were found destroyed, with a message coded into ever computer system in the battlegroup. We Shall have vengeance, and when we do, there will be NOTHING left.
