- "Need a really big gun?"
- ―Anonymous Talion Captain
The Talion-class Battlecruiser was the successor to the popular Legend-class Battlecruiser and is more or less a mobile naval gun. With improved generators it no longer suffers from the power drains that could cripple a Legend-class. The ship's main role is engaging heavy enemy capital ships, such as other cruisers, heavy cruisers, carriers, battleships and above. Its heavy MAC is capable of taking out ships as large as Carriers in one hit, and can take down ships as large as assault carriers with multiple shots. The ships are armed with a secondary MAC for close in protection against smaller warships and has multiple smaller batteries for taking on other ships.
To augment its role, the Talion is fitted with a powerful PAVE RAVEN Magnetic Array. This array detects magnetic anomalies caused by ships, through long-range electric and electromagnetic field detection arrays of great sensitivity and uses this to home in on them. The Magnetic Array is incredibly accurate and has a long range of 400,000 kilometres and is highly resistant to jamming methods, detection and interference. On top of that, stealth systems, such as RADAR resistance and optical camouflage, don't effect its capabilities. It can detect targets through celestial bodies and inside gravity wells.
It's primary role is to act as a long distance hunter-killer, or as a naval sniper, finding, engaging and destroying enemy targets at extreme range. As a result, the ship is lightly armed and fitted with sizeable engines, allowing it to be extremely fast with decent agility, allowing it to execute complex manoeuvres and flanking actions often only applicable to smaller ships like frigates. While lightly armoured, its shielding and agility allow it to destroyer larger ships at knife fight ranges.
"In a stand up fight it is much more useful as an artillery ship. Its fast enough to get into position, but isn't well designed for a stand up fight."
"Shooting anything smaller than a cruiser isn't worth it. The ship is made to destroy enemy cruisers and carriers. Though you need something a lot tougher to deal with an Assault Carrier."

Block 3 was a subclass of the Talion, given the classification of Poseidon. This subclass was a refit of three incomplete hulls to fit W/ASM21C Ion Cannons
Block 4 was a subclass of the Talion, given the classification name of Giglamesh. The subclass was an effort to refit the W/ASM13 TITAN onto an incomplete Talion-class Hull. In conjunction with a much more powerful reactor, the resulting two ships were as fast and as powerful as their sisters.
