No, as far as we know, it was only Mendicant Bias' purpose to fight the Gravemind, there's nothing saying that all the other Contenders did that, some may have been used for what you're using the Archons for. And besides, the Contenders were specifically stated to be the most advanced AIs,at least of their time. Since there's no information on when the Contenders were first created, this could easily be solved if we agreed the Archons were built after the contenders, then the Archons could have been more advanced. Either that, or state that the Archons are the most advanced Civilian AIs,a and that all the Contenders were pulled out into military service, leaving the Archons to deal with civilian life. Hope I'm not too annoying, but I need to uphold the rules, even against you. Ciao,
