The UNSC Air Force is a part of the UNSC Defense Force along with the UNSC Army. It serves as an aerial defense and support force.

Not much is known about the UNSC Air Force. Contrary to popular belief, it was not absorbed into the UNSC Navy, instead it plays a large part in the UNSC Defense Force, tasked with organizing aerial operations and likely providing air support for the infantry forces of the UNSC Army.

The UNSC Air Force was present during the Second Battle of Earth along with the UNSC Army. Although its specific functions and battlefield role in this battle are not clear, the Air Force was most likely assigned to support UNSC Army and Marine ground forces in New Mombasa and other regions of Earth. It is also plausible that they made use of bombers, such as possibly the Shortsword.
