The UNSC Beneath Shoreless Waves was a guided missile frigate of the UNSC Navy.
Several months after the Human-Covenant War, the Beneath Shoreless Waves was dispatched to Carinae-312 for a reconnaissance operation for renegade Brute fleets. Although on the first two orbital passes it was unable to find anything on the planet, when Thoreau suggested a closer orbital pass at eight thousand kilometers, Beneath Shoreless Waves found evidence of Brute encampments on the planet — Wraiths, Banshees, Phantoms, Prowlers, Ghosts, and other vehicles and Covenant buildings. This was immediately relayed to FLEETCOM Sydney, where the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the UNSC Defense Council decided that the frigate should examine the camps more closely before a UNSC battle group would attack the planet. However, upon a fourth reconnaissance run, the Beneath Shoreless Waves was unable to find any thermal or active electromagnetic signatures in the Covenant encampments, but regardless, an exploratory Marine detachment was dispatched from the frigate to reconnoiter the planet.
