The UNSC Gathering of Fates [CV-144] is an Epoch class Heavy Carrier within the UNSC. She was laid down in response to a rapidly worsening insurrection within the UEG, the events on Eridanus II being one of the primary reasons. On 01/23/2501 at 0645 Reach standard time, she was laid down at a SinoViet shipyard orbiting the Human colony of Reach. During her constructions, there were minor setbacks, primarily pertaining to transport of components required for her completion, and as a result, delayed her launch by approximately 2 months. At the time of her commissioning, she was considered top of the line, a mobile fortress, designed for war, and to act as a home for the brave men and women who served upon her.

Insurrectionist Era[]

The Gathering of Fates was not a major player during the Insurrectionist era, as most engagements did not warrant the use of an entire Carrier. She did see action, primarily patrol duties, hunting down rouge warships and pirate cells in the outer colonies. Her first major engagement was during the Operation: TREBUCHET, during the second incursion on Eridanus II in 2513. She was credited with 3 confirmed kills, and her fighter wing claimed over a dozen small insurrectionist craft in the initial battle for control of the system. Her compliment of 805 Marines with accompanying vehicles played a major role in the campaign to recapture the planet for the second time, not without significant losses and setbacks.

After the engagements above and on Eridanus II, the Gathering of Fates was assigned to the newly formed Carrier Strike Group Echo, with her as the flagship. CSG-E consisted of 2 Halcyon class Light Cruisers to act as secondary command ships, 5 Halberd class Destroyers and 9 Paris class Heavy Frigates to act as her primary escorts. CSG-E was primarily tasked with hunting down pirate cells throughout the Outer Colonies, and for over a decade, with time between each engagement, CSG-E did what they could to cut down on Piracy within UEG space.

Human-Covenant War[]

"We're entering a new era, one where Humanity will be pushed to the brink of extinction, where we will be pushed to our limits, and possibly beyond. I sure as hell know I'm not going to sit around and let these Alien bastards run through UEG space, burning worlds and killing billions, and I sure as hell hope you share the same ideas as me here. If these "Covenant" fucks want a fight, we'll give them one they won't forget, now gear the fuck up and get ready to send them on this "Great journey" they desire"

Joseph Skyes addressing what was left of the Gathering of Fates' crew during a short lived era of peace and quiet during the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV in an attempt to lift morale
