Introduced into the 29th fleet in 2567, the Jadtiger was helmed by Commander Reynolds, who had famously helped save thousands of lives due to his brilliant tactics during the Human-Covenant war, and most notably, at the Battle of Oceania. The Jadtiger's role within the fleet had initially been to provide escort to the larger ships, but this branched out to other roles, including infantry transport.
The Jadtiger served in the UNSC Navy and the 29th fleet from its date of completion in 2564, all the way to its date of retirement in 2590. The reason for its survival through so many terrible conflicts such as Operation: FIRESTORM is thought to be down to its captain's brilliance in tactics, and the Jadtiger pulled through most battles sustaining only minor damage. In 2590, the ship was retired in the ship-breaking yards of Africa on Earth, yet its name and classification have gone down in history at the memorial for Operation: FIRESTORM, remembering those who were lost.
