The UNSC Sparrow first saw action in the year 2556, during the retaking of Mars. It is primarily an anti-infantry aircraft, although it is very effective against enemy aircraft and somewhat effective against hostile vehicles. It can also carry one ODST or Marine in an ADV.
Sparrows are usually deployed in groups of four to six, often to escort dropships such as the Pelican. Once the dropships have reached a designated drop point safely, the Sparrows will either break off to escort more transports, engage inbound hostiles, or clear the way for the dropped ground forces.
