As the title says, great job everyone. I know I probably should've written this a few months ago, but hey better late than never right? Alright here goes!
To give a bit more detail as to why I am suddenly writing this, I'll take you on a slight journey through time! About...oh say...6 years ago...RelentlessRecusant and I co-founded this little wiki we called Halo Fanon(at the time Halo Fan Fiction). The wiki would be a way to tell stories, to dream up worlds, people, and just about everything that our brains could come up with. It would be an outlet for our imaginations to grow and prosper. The wiki developed into an almost unlimited fountain of creativity. Users working together as a community; we fought together, we laughed together, and I'm sure that we cried together. (What, only me? Darn.)
The wiki would serve, for me at least, as an escape from the displeasure of high school. I had hoped to find people who were like minded, people who I couldn't find in high school. This was even before I had thought of what I wanted to be when I grew up, before I realized that I wanted to be a filmmaker. This was during a time of change for me, a time where I was lost. I was trying to discover myself and this wiki helped me find who I was in a big way. It helped me realize that I am in fact not the center of attention. That collaboration, where I would have to be the bottom of the totem pole, was a necessity and not just a convenience.
I hope that many of you do or are going to come to the same conclusion as I have, that this wiki has changed your life. I'm proud of this wiki, yes I am very proud of it. I only just barely knew 6 years ago that RR and I had hit upon a goldmine, although I did not realize how vast this goldmine would be. For me, it's not a goldmine in the sense of the quantity of articles nor even the quality, but something that would reap rewards in my life down the line. Let me tell you, dear users, it has greatly changed mine. This wiki has altered the course of my life for the better and I couldn't be happier.
I'm not active on this wiki, nor do I think I will I ever be. Trust me when I say this though, I do stop by from time to time to check in on you. These maybe quiet years for you, but for many of you, the active years are just around the corner. You may move on, but I hope the wiki, the people, and the experiences are never forgotten.
I'm so proud of you guys. Do me a favor would you? Keep on dreaming, keep on hoping, and keep on going. Thank you.
