Sorry I've been AWOL. Fall break just started, and my grandma's visiting, so I haven't had much time to write. So yeah, start with Dyne and Kodiak in the pods. And before our envisionments of the environment start clashing, I've kinda figured that the atmosphere would be incredibly thin, resulting in the RoTA - or remnants of the ark, I'm to lazy to NOT have an acronym - being covered in snowstorms. The mountaneous region of the larger arm where Archer stands against Sepia has a fairly deep valley near it's center, that maintains a more consistent tundra climate. Also, I noticed the quote you dropped into the relationship box for Seps. That's after Heaven's Gate?
Just had an idea for that Sepia quote under the relations bar. During the fight between Sam and Sepia across some snowy peak, Seps disarms Sam and holds him at gunpoint with his own Mauler. She has a brief flash back to the kiss, whenever it happened. Clearly thinking along the same lines, Sam coldly states that if Sepia had wanted him dead, she would have killed him on Jericho.
Hesitating, Sepia is put on the back foot as Sam capitalizes on her lapse of resolve. Also, I strangely feel the need to rewrite the fight between Sam, Kodiak, and Sepia. I've decided I like the look of the mark V helmet, and I want to provide the impression that Sam's armor is constantly changing. The blue visor remains for the initial engagements with Sepia's loyaleets, only to be shattered and replaced with the triple-thick black glass Sam wears for the rest of his life when he finds the Monitor.
First off, I wouldn't worry too much about the "traitor Spartan" angle. Simon as he will appear in the RP has lost all of his memories and will be operating under a pseudonym, so Sepia could be one of the people who recognize him and wonder if it is indeed him (the UNSC believes him to be dead and there will be some speculation about clones). I think it's best that you leave Kodiak and Dyne out of this one; I've set a five Spartan limit for the RP, so Sepia will leave only two slots left for any further Spartan characters.
I think it will be fairly easy for me to give Sepia a good role once I have enough participants to plan this a little better. Simon won't be the only rogue element running around though, so a little more info on Sepia's motivations (I can't find much about her post-desertion self in the article) would go a long way. As far as any Sangheili characters you may want to use, I suggest just making them Path Walker agents for the sake of the AAO timeline.
Go ahead and submit Sepia on the forum page along with any other characters you want to use and feel free to provide more info on what kind of story you want to be writing for them so I can incorporate that into my planning.
Welp. Last day of fall break, so I'm gonna try and enjoy myself, but at the same time I'm gonna try and work on the next piece of the story. I'm thinking of invoking "A Death in The Limelight", by showing one of the Elites and his lance, acting as scouts, get slaughtered in an ambush. Cultred's blog has opened up a world of possibilities to me. That, and fanfiction.net.
Also, I've got a feeling in my head that we need to rewrite the fight between Sam, Kodiak, and Sepia. It was nowhere near as brutal and savage as it should have been, and it should be just as badass as the destruction to come. And Sam's armor needs to be thoroughly trashed. And as for the visor thing, it turns black because the bonding agent the monitor uses to fit them together has a weird effect on the material, changing the pigment. Sam, of course, memorizes the formula. Yay for rampant AIs revealing their secrets!
Too lazy for text box (damn iPad) but what I meant is that it just felt subdued. Having read some stuff on other Spartans, it just feels too slow. Not as kinetic or just plain violent as it should be.
But yeah, it's really just gonna be Sepia kicking the crap out of them, but we have to keep in mind that the edge the armor gives her is slight, as Sam and Kodiak both outclass her. But Sam, as was mentioned in story, wasn't motivated to kill, and Kodiak was still cloudy on the Geas.
As for names, I'm still thinking. Guilty Spark and Penitent ztangent are both quite similar, so I wonder if all Installation Monitors are similarily designated...
Sup. I've spent time thinking on the current setting in the writing (Which I am working on, don't worry), and it strikes me as odd that Spartans would be using weapons that are practically antiques. We have the excuse for Ion, but Sam and Marcus should be using newer weapons, some of which Sam probably invented himself. So yeah, I had an idea that Sam gets an idea to chuck the M99 in the trash and build something better.
Introducing the Magnetic Accelerator Rifle System/Sniper Rifle, AKA the MARS rifle. Sam has been carrying one around on Jericho, and Marcus managed to get it, and lots of spare ammunitions. While a gauss rifle is powerful, it is still showing it's age, and the MARS was designed with Spartan personnel in mind (it's still a bit heavy for use by frontline soldiers). It shares it's effective range with the Stanchion, but is capable of extended use without requiring a recharge, and Sam has yet to fully test it, but he thinks it shoots a lot flatter than any other weapon in the UNSC arsenal. And remember, he is almost never wrong. He still hasn't succesfully developed an Assault Rifle or Machine Gun using the tech, as the power cells are easily the hardest part to properly tune.
If you like the idea, then he takes the rifle down to the Ark for a "field test", and uses it to deadly affect against recon lances of Loyalists. It eventually freezes up (or something like that, maybe battery failure), and Sam uses it as a club before destroying it with a plasma grenade. So yeah, if you like the idea the MARS/SR will just be the first in a series of weapons to be utilized by Royal Team. And if you don't, than I'll just work on mah science and bring it back later.
Cool. Keeping in mind that I only know the principal behind the use of a coilgun, if not the nitty-gritty. If you need a visual of what the MARS looks like, I find the images from the cancelled game Tiberium(sooo much lost potential. Damn you EA) to fit my mental image, if you give 'em a UNSC ascetic.
And on a random note, have you read Alan Seeger's I Have a Rendezvous With Death? Badass poem, and not just the short version from the Gears 2 trailer, the whole thing. It's beautiful, and I think the shortened version might make an interesting chapter quote for when Marcus dies, or when Sam goes batshit and tries to kill Sepia the second time(first fight don't count). Hell, I think Sam would probably love the poem, and have it tatooed on his back (or wrapped up his arm) in Latin. That little idea came from a thinky day where I was trying to work out ideas for "Spartan High"(working title). Having something so morbid inked into his skin would fit Sam's character, and what better way for the normals in the story to realize he's different than to have him recite it, from memory, in latin, and then again in english.
Also, I thought I would warn you that I just picked up my copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, so I may disappear for a bit.
Meh, I don't pay too much attention to the IRC. But I have checked out the RvB shenanigans bit on Sona's page. A bit pissed someone already took the Minnesota role, as I've had a character idea in my head for a while now, and would have jumped at the chance to use it.

Also, I wanted to apologize for not having kept you posted about the redone Sam & Kodiak vs Traitor!Sepia fight. I have been working on it, but I'm just having a little bit of trouble capturing the feelings that I want. XCom actually has little to do with it, surprisingly. But it occured to me, that I have a sniper who just got a laser rifle, and I still haven't named after a friend. If you want me to, I'll name him after you(a high, if deadly, honor). If yea, than tell me what callsign, armor color, hair style, hair color, skin tone, and all that jazz you want for him. And yes, I named my best soldier after myself.
I know we need to get moving, so I'll just work on the first fight in spare time. Beyond the spare time I'm devoting to the main story, of course.
As for X-COM, I will be trying my damndest to keep you alive, but mostly because you're my only sniper. It's never been a problem except on the rare occassion a Floater uses Blastoff, because my sniper tends to hang back and use my Assaulters as spotters. Squadsight is such a useful toy:). Anywho, you have eleven kills up to this point, and on the practice run I did on the alien base(ending in failure) you were the last man alive, claiming six or seven chryssalids, and three zombies. Oh, and you're German.

Hi!
I was wondering if my Hazop article is now good and, is there a (free) photo editing website that you perfer me to use? I want to start creating a new series of articles but, I need to be able to put a certain photo of a Grunt into a certain backround. I tried using Paint, but it is preety difficult and another program, Scratch, is also difficult. Let me know if you have ant reccomenddations and about the article.

As of now, Seung-ah is not in AAO and only exists in the Platinum Annals Universe. Of course, Seung-ah and Aspen have interacted, but it can only have happened in the Platinum Annals Universe. I just need to know if Aspen's non-AAO biography conflicts with the Platinum Annals Universe at all, so I can decide whether to place Seung-ah back into AAO or not. ~HyperZergling 01:52, December 2, 2012 (UTC)

Normally I'd wait to PM you for something as minor as this, but since we've been seeing much less of each other lately I figured I'd just hit you here. I've got mild inspiration for another RP storyline in a slightly similar vein to our classic two-man trip to Famul, albeit on a more epic scope and was wondering if you'd be at all interested in pulling some late nighters screwing around with it. I don't have that much of a coherent plan, which I think is a good thing, but it's loose enough to attract more characters and looks liable to give some mileage in the cool character ideas department.
