I got them off of Halopedia, though the exact wording may be off. According to the site, it said the companies had 497, 418, and 330 candidates, respectively. Considering the fact that Spartan-II initially started with 150 candidates and the maximum number is generally accepted as 150. Transposing this over, it seems plausible to think that these would be the maximum numbers. Cheers.

I noticed the other day that you were revising UNSC Ordnance for the Necros project as per something on the Irk. What exactly is Ajax up to and should I take this as a sign that Ajax might be waking up at some point.

Also, I was wondering when the next week (week of Oct. 29, 2552) in Dwindling Flame was starting.

"You say you desire pure originality, but inspiration from other things will tint everyone's work whether they try or not. It is unavoidable, unless you less in a dark cave and know nothing of the outside where, but that's moot as then you wouldn't be here in the first place. When I created Elijah, I needed a name: I'm a fan of the Lord of the Rings, so choosing the names of its' actors was a natural choice for me, particularly because it was unique among what I've seen on the site. A name is just that: a name. Likewise, we're a fanon site, so we have to use pictures from outside sources because they don't really exist in universe. To say "don't use pics not from Halo!" is to say "Don't do anything outside of Halo canon!", which ends up as "Just don't write." You made a mountain out of a mole-hill, and a very offensive mountain at that."

Planets Category

I see you've changed the category on two Planet infoboxes back to "Planet" instead of "Planets". And with the description "stop. now.". I think you think I'm vandalising the wikia. But the change to "Planets" in its plural is an improvement. Not only is the plural more gramatically correct as I've stated before, but its more inline with the editing style of Halopedian. As this is a fan fiction sub genre of that wiki, it makes sense to follow in their standards. Now that the Planet Category does not exist, it makes even more sense to use the new Planets Category. Changes I've made to other users' infoboxes are not attempts to vandalise them, but to maintain some cohesion between articles on this wikia. We like to list things, so it makes sense to list them in the same place. -TheLostJedi 22:11, March 29, 2011 (UTC)

Victorian-era prose may be hard slogging, but at least it isn't the original medieval text of Sir Thomas Mallory's King Arthur stories, even if it was only part of it. Especially because it was the Lancelot parts, when he finally reveals his love for Guinevere, Arther lays seige to his French castle, Mordred betrays his father/uncle, and Lancelot, Bedevere and Guinevere all retire to monastaries/nunneries. Lancelot makes Mary Sues Older Than Print.

Flawless memory that you have, you will no doubt recall our conversation last year about a Yanme'e soldier class? I went through my folders, digging through all the images I've been saving, and stumbled across this:

Japanhalo mecha drone

According to mine and Sith'ari's canon, the Yanme'e break away and become an advanced civilisation on their own. I therefore think it quite easy to believe that they could field soldiers like this - armoured and shielded, armed to the teeth, and able to put their hive-minded ferocity to better work than ever before.

Alright here's what I've got. Specops will probably show you his own, but here's what I have:
In Unggoy society, there are two genders: “Bamgo”, which serves as the alpha female, and “Bangie”, the worker male. Unggoy keeps are centralized around a single matriarch, who commands and is serviced by her worker males.
Worker males reach sexual maturity of age of four, and typically do not live past thirty. The matriarch, however, can live to a hundred, and regularly gives birth to dozens of Bangie, and can be impregnated by multiple ones as well. Eggs she chooses to fertilize are born into new Bangie. Eggs she chooses not to fertilize remain merely eggs and given as food.
To create a new Bamgo, the matriarch takes a male of her choosing, and nourishes him herself during impregnation. That male will then grow into a Bamgo, and may leave with a portion of males to seek out a keep of their own.

HumanCircle
MorhekIngenio et Labore:
TALK CONTRIBUTIONS EMAIL — Tuesday, May 21 2013 (Pacific Standard Time)
I think of Unggoy as sexually dimorphic - have you read The Wee Free men by Terry Pratchett? His description of how Nac Mac Feegle clans work is basically how I envision the Unggoy working - one huge, but intelligent and wise "Kelda" is the Matriarch of the clan, giving birth to thousands in her lifetime and ensuring the survival of the clan during harsh times, of war, famine or disease. All wisdom rests in her, and she shares it with her few daughters - when a daughter grows old enough, she travels. Sometimes she joins another clan, becoming the new kelda. Sometimes she gathers rogue males from other clans and starts a new one. But daughters in general are rare, and much wiser than their brothers.

Male Unggoy, on the other hand, are not as huge as matriarchs but are fitter, more numerous, and fill the "Worker Bee" role. They are the most common members of a clan, and service their home and defend it from intruders. I've seen no evidence of it, but I would expect a limited caste structure - Warriors who protect the keep, check strange Unggoy who are permitted entry, and defend the Matriarch in a personal body guard; Workers, who maintain and expand the clan's home and work to improve it (and also perhaps filling a scientific role too?) and Foragers/Growers, who use nearby geothermal hot springs to grow the crops and raise the domesticated animals that the clan depends on to survive. If they don't raise their own crops, then the Warrior caste may also be raiders - venturing forth on their noble steeds to steal crops and animals from nearby rival clans.

I leave the actual sexual act to your imagination. They look vaguely like anthropomorphic crabs to me (not a pleasant thought) so I would imagine they have similar means of reproduction - once again, not a pleasant image. On the other hand, to each his/her own. I'm not sure whether "male" or "female" are actually accurate words, since some arthropods are hermaphroditic, and can change sex depending on environmental needs - if there is a dearth of females, more so than usual, a male might spontaneously change sex, becoming the new matriarch. Or perhaps not? Some arthropods have both sexual organs, but remain as one gender for their lives.

I had all this typed up before I realised you were looking for feedback on a reproduction, and not a lecture on Unggoy society - sorry. I question mentioning matriarchal Unggoy combat ability in an article about sexual reproduction - ideally, the legions of protectors should never allow an enemy to get close enough to pose any risk to her. And then there's the actual "act" itself...4chan shock images...the mental images will not go away... DX

Otherwise, it's very good!

I was wondering if I could start an actual article based off the battle for Japan in Dwindling Flame, incorporating some of my ideas? Specifically, I was planning for, after the Covenant advance into Tokyo and to the north near Matsumoto is halted and repelled, for the UNSC and Covenant Separatists to launch a multi-directional counterattack towards the Kansai region, including the cities of Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, with UNSC/Separatist land forces coming in both from east from Nagoya and from the North from the Gifu prefecture, while UNSC wet naval forces land troops from the sea, continuing on to liberate Shikoku and Kyushu, before being loaded onto wet naval vessels and aircraft and assaulting the Covenant occupiers of Okinawa, Tsushima (between Korea and Japan), Cheju-do (off Korea), and Taiwan, before attacking the Covies mainland China and Korea.
DF Counterattack
The UNSC Counterattack on Honshu.
SPARTAN 119Added by SPARTAN 119

So, what do you think, does that fit into your view of the Dwindling Flame timeline. Anyway, I might not be able to write this article for a bit anyway, because I have exams. Speaking of which, once summer begins, any plans to restart Dwindling Flame?

I can understand why you've given up, heck, if Matt doesn't pick up on it, I'm done, but for what was said here and here it's worth one final effort.

I think we just shot for too large of scale. Or maybe that it was bogged down by people moving to fast or slow, myself on the extreme latter end. In any case, I have one idea that I'll consider after I see how trying to resurrect Mercy's Requiem goes.

I went off on a tangent again. So, Matt's Gamertag, and by the way, add TDS Chronicler to your friends list if you ever need a spare rifle at your back. Good luck out there, That Damn Sniper.

Personal View

HumanCircle
MorhekThere Was Honour In Our Covenant Once:
TALK CONTRIBUTIONS EMAIL — Tuesday, May 21 2013 (Pacific Standard Time)
Remember, this is simply my own point of view, as opposed to any concise definition. If I offend anyone, please don't take it as such. I was asked, and I answer.

I used to consider myself an athiest, and was pretty militant about it. I had nothing but contempt for the religious, and considered them idiotic, gullible fools for believing in systems that defied or rejected all logic and reason. And then, like all kids, I grew up - very quickly, because I discovered that almost every friend I had was a Christian of one type or another. And what happened then? Well, in New Zealand they say that Specops' small heart grew three sizes that day. And then - the true meaning of coexistence came through, and Specops found the strength of *ten* Specops', plus two!

A bit dramatic, but it was an eye-opener - I had assumptions, and they were swiftly relieved of me. I had to re-evaluate my entire philosophy, and my eventual conclusion was that I was angry at God's nonexistence. There was a time when I used to pray - for stupid stuff, to get a new book, to fix a broken toy, to have more friends - and I was angry that God, an entity who supposedly created the world in seven days, couldn't even do that. And eventually, the anger subsided - you can't blame something that doesn't exist for not existing. That's just downright redundant. And It was quite a freeing experience. At the same time, I realised that religion isn't something only fools engage in - there is meaning to be found, there is truth to be embraced, even if it is a very personal meaning and truth. Religion is fulfilling, and it fuels that vital engine of human existence - hope. "truth" is separable from "meaning", and both are relative - as any Postmodernist will assure us.

Alas, it is something I simply cannot share for precisely that same reason - hope.

I would hope that a god who is omniscient would know that evil existed in the world; a god that was omnipotent would be able to remove it; and a god that was benevolent would want to. Remove one of those, and the system still works - but it's now a cruel, or blind, or weak god. I prefer to live in a world where there is no meaning to millions starving in Africa, or being murdered or raped, or betrayed. What meaning could there possibly be? I prefer to live in a world where life isn't just one big test, and death our final reward. There's no malevolence in what I believe - truth is relative, and this is mine. What's true for you or others can also be "true".

To clarify, I'll leave you with a Doctor Who quote. Because every debate can be solved by The Doctor.

"You're always doing this, reducing it to science. Why can't it be real? Just think of it though, all the people we've lost, our families coming back home. Don't you think it's beautiful?"
―Jackie Tyler
"I think it's horrific."
―The Doctor

Actually, I'll explain. Basically, its a bunch of us halo fanoners running a archipelago split up into a bunch of nation-states (like mine), that interact with each other in RP form on a forum that shall not be linked here out of fear that Ajax or AR will find it and invade. GOD NO, PLEASE! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME! for various reasons. We measure economic success in factors such as military funding, power of the currency, and...other stuff, like my nation here.

Thats the quick synopsis. If you have any interest in joining in on the fun, contact me. =D

Meant to talk to you on the IRC about this, but you signed off before I had the chance.

Anyway, I noticed that you haven't posted yet in the GITM RP and on the talk page you seemed uncertain about participating. If you want some sort of entry point, I'd be glad to work out some sort of collaboration between our posts. If your Sangheili military characters need people to fight, I've got the Sons of the Preserving Blade fighting on the Fallen side. They're kinda like the student rebels from Les Miserables crossed with the Viet Cong crossed with energy swords, so we could work out a few posts where your Sangheili and my Sangheili are fighting each other. I also have a black operations ONI mission cooking with 118, though since it's pretty covert I don't know if it would be wise to add another Spartan to it (we already have two Headhunters and one ONI operative), but we could still fit someone like Riker in it if you need an entry point for him. It's a shame this occurs too early in the AAO timeline for my Simon-G294 character to be involved; it would have been interesting to possibly do something with him and Kedar-198, though I guess you can't have everything...

Anyway, just an idea. I think the RP's stagnating a bit too quickly and I still don't know where Sona will be taking it, so I think it's essential for us posters to collaborate on our own subplots in order to keep things rolling. Message me if you're interested and I'll reply ASAP.

Guess whose back? Guess! I dare yah! Before you get all teary eyed and wish washy, I got a question for yah. I wrote a little short story that I thought might fit well with that old Halo Chronicles thing you and Matt did, and since Matt's apparently been inactive for almost as long as me, I'm here to ask you if you think it'd be cool for me to put it in there. Otherwise, I'll just put it under some random name. Best regards and all that good stuff, Spartan 501 (who is back, seriously)

Yes, very dusty indeed I can see. Seems like the whole site is--and it seems like a lot of people are gone. Anyway, I uploaded my little short story; give it a read, if you have the time, and tell me what you think. It's the first (creative) thing I've written in...oh, four or five months, and it felt kind of rusty. Anways, thanks for all the fish and wahtnot.

Nice to see you're still around and even more interesting to see you have one of my pictures in your grab bag. Gotta love it. I keep wondering if that's what happened to all my other pictures too and I'm pretty sure I've seen a few of them floating around but seeing as I have this issue with getting close to an Xbox to take any pictures what so ever or make up a new Elite I wouldn't mind having my picture removed from your grab bag. I was speaking of the Litharee.jpg picture. Honestly, I don't know if I'll ever really need it. But I don't know. I'm kind of being pulled a little away from the Halo ideas though I may be able to come back to it later on. Anyways, as I said I was speaking of the Litharee picture you've got in your grab bag of pictures. But, again, not sure I'd use it anyways. Sorry for being a bother, I'm going back and forth on a lot of new projects else where and between starting up again on different fanon sites and my job out in afghan-land I am a little backwards brained. -Stacker A New Dawn Is Coming 20:57, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

Is this possible

Lets say a SPARTAN was put on reach during the covenant invasion, it nears reach's final moments, then somehow, havent thought this part in detail, he gets put into a cryogenic chamber, maybe by rebels, in a ship headed to earth, when they get to earth they crash land and the SPARTAN is found at the end of the battle of earth. Years later he and ten other Spartans are hired by a big arms dealing company. (Spartan-035 22:19, August 7, 2011 (UTC))

I don't know how often you get on anymore so I have no idea how long it will take to get a reply. I thought I might once again help out around here doing the cleaning I once did. It won't be as significant as it was way back when seeing as I am employed now but I can do bit by bit if you want me to. I don't write fanon anymore, lost the vibe of it but I can still clean this place up if you you see fit.

One request I'd like to make is that you remove the Sons of the Silent Blade from the Extra Outcomes page and from the Necros organization template. I'd forgotten that they'd been included in that, and since they're no longer or a mercenary group (or even an article I'm concerned with editing) than they really don't belong within EO.

I didn't actually know that it was tied to anything else - if I had, I would have been more careful in writing it. I do think it's more interesting to think that Randall is not a willing participant in the program, rather than a renegade Spartan. I know Soren almost became an Innie, but Randall was a successful augment, with less reason to resent the UNSC. If it's an integral part of your story, I'll change it back.

If I had the choice of doing PERSIAN again, I wouldn't - I didn't think how you'd feel about me appropriating your own idea, and I really feel bad about hijacking it the way I have. I appropriated Helen Calypso from Matt-256, but that was with his permission and approval. This is different, and I didn't want it to be. I've decided to make it an AU version of your PERSIAN - you don't need to change a thing in your own canon.

Disambiguation Project

Recently, I've been thinking of ways to make my articles look more professional. I'm not saying that my articles as they currently appear are the highest image of professionalism. Granted, they need a lot of work, and when I can get the time I'll give it to them. But that said, it's just the prologue to how I stumbled onto another idea, which I've dubbed the 'Disambiguation Project'.

So let me explain...

Currently when authors create an article - I'll use 'John-117' here as an example - whoever creates the space 'John-117' first, gets the original article title. Those following would have to use 'John-117 (LOMI)' or 'John-117 (TheLostJedi)' for examples. This just happened the way it did and if I'm not mistaken, no-one has tried to change this. That's fair enough.

But I was thinking, if we wanted to make this wikia more professional (especially in regard to the search function), after more than one articles share the same name, instead of keeping with current traditions, a disambiguation page should be made. For example say Author-A creates the article 'Carter-A259' and it exists for an indefinite period of time with no other 'Carter-A259 (author)' articles existing, that's fine. But if someone else, Author-B was to later create a 'Carter-A259 (Author-B)' article, then the original 'Carter-A259' article should diplomatically be moved to 'Carter-A259 (Author-A)' with both Author-A and Author-B's articles, accessible from a disambiguation page, title 'Carter-A259', much like we see about many other wikias.

All this means, is that authors will have to alter their links slightly to make sure they don't hit the disambiguation page. Furthermore, if anyone feels that having their author username attached to an article title is unsightly, this can be rectified with extreme ease, by using the title name template.

The benefit of course, is that the proposed 'Disambiguation Project' would mean the way articles exist on the wikia is a whole lot more fairer AND that searches would be incredibly more resourceful in regard to categorising fanon works. I speak in favour of this proposal from both sides of the fence, having article titles which I can easily foresee being shared in the future, whilst also, already having articles featuring my username. I'd like to hear what you think of this anyway. All the best. -TheLostJedi 14:14, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

LostJedi, the wiki already uses disambiguation pages where applicable. The onus is generally on the authors of such pages to request a disambig or create it themselves. A minimal amount of searching and you would have happened upon existing disambiguation pages. Athena32 - talk | contribs | email | articles

I was just being thorough. Unsigned comment by Lepord Predator (talk • contribs).

What I'm talking about is making this a grand scheme to round up articles, to create a little more unity among the wikia. Disambiguation pages currently feel low key. But making something like this policy now, has the potential to help make things a whole lot tidier in the future. Red links are irrelevant and need not be affected. I'm talking about existing articles. -TheLostJedi 00:37, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

All known pages requiring disambiguation have already been created. If there are any more you want to bring attention to, please list them somewhere or show them to someone. In the valley of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. 21:35, December 9, 2011 (EST)

Okay, so Jared's agreed to step down most graciously. What do you say to closing the forum and starting on RfDA'ing him and DC? It looks like you've got a pretty good idea of the community's opinions.

Reinstatement

Dear Lordofmonsterisland, Sona 'Demal, and the rest of the Administrative team

Given the recent cause célèbre of administrative changes, I am writing to see whether we can look into the possibility of formally re-instating my administratorship on the site. As you can see, I have been quite prolific in the past year on the site, although I've never really stepped forward and made an announcement about it. Given recent research circumstances, my fortune to be able to publish several papers recently, and that my research work at Stanford has formally commenced—well, I'm back!

Given my past history on the site and the formative contributions I made to founding and maintaining the community since January 2007 when everything began, I feel that reassignment to the administrative team would be suitable and that I can continue to help fostering the site as I did in my former capacity. In my opinion, I feel that I helped start things here and I championed it for many years through both the thick and the thin and ups and downs, and I would like to continue to do so. I would enjoy the opportunity to look into this possibility more closely and feel apropos to return to the site.

If you (or anyone else) would like to speak to me in confidence about this, please of course feel free to contact me via email (relentlessrecusant@gmail.com).

Sincerely yours,
Relentless

I'd like to ask if I would be allowed to join the Necros Project, at sometime in the future. Right now, I'm trying to stay on top of school, Beyond Recognition, Gaining Faith, and keeping up with 119 in Dwindling Flame, but I have a few ideas for contributions to the Necros universe after browsing through it link-by-link. Dyne mentoring a SPARTAN-IV that gives him as much trouble as he ever was, a couple of Plainsferians and an aspect of shapeshifter culture, perhaps a unique Necros enemy, and having Dyne and Kodiak die in the final battle to add a couple more noteworthy characters among the casualties.

Your comment, though warrented, is but late and and rather pointless by now. I too would love to deliver this message in a kind way, but I can find no way of doing so.

The matter has been resolved. As you did not pay attention to the preceding comments on my talk page, then I see no point in your comment as of now. Sona 'Demal appeared to have solved the matter rather nicely, as I did admit that I was in the wrong. Why you failed to read those comments concerns me. And I don't respond to threats. The worst thing is to best ignorant with an opinion. Good night from the Midwest. Vivaporius says: "I don't need a slogan!" 04:27, January 6, 2012 (UTC)

From what I saw, three people spoke, and I manned up and admitted my mistake, twice. You simply thought that you'd add your opionion to a matter that had already ened. Grizzlei said it was over. Sona said it was over. From my point of view, it was over. You decided to prolong the matter, and from what I read, that was a threat. So yes, you are that ONE admin. By opening your mouth to add to a problem that was thought resolved. Your additude showed no sign of you being the nicest admin. And I'm wasn't running. What you failed to realize was that you represent the wiki. And like any employee, businessman, or etc., your actions will set the impression new users will have of the site, its users, and the administrative staff. Every word that came out of your mouth was haughty andignorant. While I once again, acknowledged my fault, you decided to press the matter. And leaving a wiki isn't extreme. I can always come back, its a site, if you've forgotten that as well. If I have to listen to your civility when you rant on about issues that one administrator helped end, then I have every reason to leave. And all you need to know is that there are 3-4 users who have given rather poor statements on the additudes of users like yourself. I did not know my statement would receive the kind of flak it did, when in mind, I was simply trying to be nice. The kind of tone I was using was friendly, though I'd suspect as much from Halo fans. Vivaporius says: "I don't need a slogan!" 15:12, January 6, 2012 (UTC)

A side note I'd like to add. Athena was not being civil. To show you.

Athena: "<civility start>Kindly keep out of matters that are of no concern to you whatsoever. The issue between Grizzlei and I was ended days ago, and you have no business bringing the topic up or commenting on it.<civility ends> <bashing starts>Furthermore, you have no right to tell me to 'suck it up and deal with it' seeing as you are neither informed nor involved in the slightest with the matter. Finally, I will add that there was no ban in the first place, so your comment that I was unbanned is incorrect. In future, I suggest you keep your 'suggestions' to yourself.<bashing ends>"

I could have accepted the first part, I understand I interjected without reason or cause. But then Athena begins to insult me by calling me both foolish and crude. I don't know what kind of people you spend your time with, but Athena did not show that he was one of the "nice guys". My final statement is this. People say stupid things. But stupid people respond to stupid thing by saying more stupid things. In this case, I said something stupid. But instead of saying something along the lines of "Please do not interject into matters of no concern to you", Athena went on to insult my character. Then you interjected, and said something that was both late in need and unnessesary. It was Athena who decided to make this matter what it was, instead of being polite, which he comment was not. Sona did a good job of ending the matter, but you just made it worst. Vivaporius says: "I don't need a slogan!" 15:26, January 6, 2012 (UTC)

It was certainly...illuminating. And it got me to finally archive my talk page, which it desperately needed. As for the Croc form...nope. Perhaps you need to take a closer look? :P

I've also been wondering about whether to finalise a male "King" form, and what this should entail - a mutated/engineered Queen, or a separate caste entirely - and what effect this might have on the aliens social structure. I speculated that the Xenomorph homeworld, Xi Prime, was locked in perpetual inter-hive warfare that stopped technological progression. Introducing a King caste to replace that of the Queen would be a volatile addition to an already volatile situation. Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 20:28, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

Hey there, how are we these days? Yes indeed I have kinda returned. And yes indeed, because of halo 4. Got me in the mood again, but with the certainty of a trilogy and the hope of maybe one day there being a mass-effect-themed Halo RPG, I'm back! Most importantly, are you still involved with the Dwindling Flame RP? I'm gonna wrap that up before starting on some epic stuff to get my fanon ready for Halo 4. Question is, you still involved? Most importantly, are you gonna be there to help finish it and carry on with the project. If not, then that's okay, I'll get new community support. It's been so long that I reckon fresh writers will want to join. I'd hate to go against the whole purpose of why the project was done in the first place, as hypocritical that may sound relevant to my leaving!

But yeh, i'm keen to get back into it and stay into it. Whether the project continues after this... we'll decide after this RP, however we still have this one to complete.

That said, one thing I'm fairly certain on, is that I'm going to reduce the number of spartans I have (I'll most likely not delete any - not those that have their own articles, anyway - but rather transfer them to Baccus; it serves the same purpose and doesn't render other people's articles obsolete), and try to connect them together a bit more, and convincingly so. As part of that, I plan to remove the Black & Covert operations stuff and simply have Laz be recruited by dear ol' DRACULA.

And regarding Laz, there's two things I'd like to run by you to see what you think:

  1. Since he's probably going to be DRACULA's lapdog rather than Admiral Rich's, I started thinking about a new codename, but I came up with several choices. So, which of these do you personally prefer? IMPALER (fun fact; the guy traditionally identified as Count Dracula was known as Vlad the Impaler, or Vlad Tepes in his local language), TEPES (see last one), DRAGON/DRAKE/HIGH DRAGON/DRAGONLING (both a reference to Dragon Age: Origins and to the fact that "Dracula" means "son of the Dragon"), SPACER (reference to Mass Effect - one of the background choices available for the PC), LAZARUS (sounds similar to his name, a reference to Lazarus from the bible and to Project Lazarus in Mass Effect 2), or NIGHTWING (after the superhero - it sounds cool, but see below for the other reason)
  2. When thinking about Laz's background again, I came to two conclusions; one, that I would like Laz to be more of a minority than he currently is (if you don't recall, he's genetically american but raised by hungarian parents), two, that I thought it'd fit better if he did suffer a few visible side effects from the augments (which DRACULA would then cure/fix/counteract, and thus convince Laz to work for him). Both of them made me think of possible alternatives for his appearance out-of-armor, and I got really attached to Kai Leng's character model in ME3 (which, btw, earned him the fan nickname of "Nightwing", because of his eye implants resembling Nightwing's mask). So, essentially, what I want your opinion on is: should I (a) stick to his old appearance (IE this) (b) change it (to this) or (c) not change it, but keep looking for other possibilities? The whole thing's mostly a nitpick, and I'm not planning a major personality change or anything to go along with the appearance plans, so if you're against any changes, I could be easily convinced.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the immense wall of text. And here's hoping that your input isn't met with failure as I once again fell into the well of inactivity :P

Hey, he's already receiving praise, coddling and food that could've been mine - he might as well make himself useful ^_^ In all honesty, the likelihood of him returning at this point is rather slim. Unlike me, he hasn't grown bored of replaying DAO and whining about DA2 (okay, I haven't given up the latter either, but that's neither here nor there...). Angel might come back just to spite me, though I wouldn't count on it.

As for who I intend to keep...I'm not exactly sure. One part of me thinks I should pass along all the Class IIIs, but the rest is still attached to them and wants to keep them (not to mention it'd be a stab in the back to 501), so Rachel at least I will probably end up keeping. Bonnie and Amanda I'll probably pass along. Mattias I can simply delete - unless you want him, since he's the leader of Sienna Team, one of our joint efforts. Speaking of which, Valeria, the leader of Gauntlet and one of my not-made articles, I want to get rid of - and, if you're okay with it, I'd like Cassandra to take her place (canon!Cassandra was wounded in augments - might as well stick to that truth, if altering it a bit =P), which of course means she'll get a rewrite too. I'm gonna keep the JAVELIN Project (though I might change one or two details - possibly restricting it to one class trained after the S-II Class I), so hopefully your JAVELINs won't be affected. Helen Calypso (though not technically a spartan) I'm for the moment intending to keep - I really can't see anyone else thus far winning over Laz :P Hào and the rest of Winter Team I'm uncertain; it depends on what I decide to have Laz do (though if I want to avoid retconning Dwindling Flame out of existence I'm probably going to have to pass them along - come to think of it, that presents the problem of Amanda and Bonnie too-argh! Continuity nightmare! I should get into the comic book business at this rate...). Finally, Jane and Herald Team are rather difficult. I'd wager Jane's my best article at this point (or at least the longest), but at the same time it somehow feels like she doesn't belong in my core universe, if only because of Herald Team. One possibility is that I simply have her (no, not in that way!) in an alternate universe. Another is that I also give her article a slight rewrite and integrate her with Winter or Gauntlet Team. Actually, now that I wrote it, I like the latter possibility. I'll think on it some more.

Anyway, I guess you're right with LAZARUS. Maybe I'll give it to somebody else instead. And I agree HIGH DRAGON is cool - I'm just not sure anymore if it fits Laz specifically. NIGHTWING I'm liking more and more, but I'll have to think on all of them, as well as see what my other friends here think ("What, is my advice worth so little to you that you have to ask others?" you say? Well, (bluntly) Yes >:3).

As for ME3, I'm going to play it - eventually. I'll buy it when it and its ridiculously priced DLC-character-that-should-have-been-in-the-game is at a lower price, if only because of the horrid ending (I watched the cutscenes, ending, and Angry Joe's review of the game beforehand so I could make an informed decision, after the disappointment with DA2). Good point about grief for Riker - I'll work that in too. A shame you couldn't be of more help regarding the appearance, though - I honestly expected you to be vehemently against the appearance change. But it can't be helped, of course. I'll see what the others think, then decide one way or another, and you can keep your inner picture of him either way (I do hope you don't fantasize about Laz too often though :P). Though on a largely unrelated note, even if you can't quite describe what you think he looks like, do you know how you think he sounds like? What actor could you see doing his voice?

And there I wrote another big wall of text. If only writing articles was as easy...

I realize you probably have more interesting things to do than to hold my hand, but I think I've decided how and what I want to do with my spartans now ("Finally!" you say? Well, fair enough). Listening to your and S501's opinion that I get rid of my spartans too often, I've decided to keep that to a minimum and instead subtly alter details or keep them largely the same. Laz I'm still considering what changes I will or won't make, but here's what I've come up with:
  • I'm placing my focus and energy (and writing time) in particular on three characters: Laz, Cassandra and Jane. What that means is I intend for those to be my "main" articles, IE the longest ones, and the ones I'll do the most with. This in turn means I'll try and keep them sufficiently different/separate from each other.
    • Laz will most likely be a solo leonidan agent for DRACULA most of his career, but I've also considered having him form a team out of class III survivors like Rachel, Balduin and possibly others as the teams get decimated.
    • Cassandra I'm planning on altering so that she did get crippled in the augments like canon says, but then eventually fixed and made leader of Gauntlet Team. Specifically, I'd like her to replace Valeria-107, whom I never wrote an article for anyway. But I'll let you have the final word on this - I'm hoping the change won't affect your stuff much, if at all, but if it does, let me know.
    • Jane I'm hoping to keep roughly the same - IE as a headhunter - but instead of having her and her partner join Herald Team I'd give them to Winter Team (replacing two of the members that I didn't even plan to write articles for).
  • Rachel, Balduin and Hào will still have their own articles, but probably not as long as the previous three. Therefore it won't hurt if they're connected with each other and/or with the other three in some way.
    • Rachel and Balduin I want to keep roughly the same, though as mentioned above, it's a possibility to have them and one or two other surviving ARES members form a team with (or without) Laz.
    • Hào I intend to keep the same, just his team roster might be different.
  • Bonnie is the only spartan article (except for Mattias-256, which has nothing written on it anyway) that I'm considering to get rid of - and by get rid of, I mean give it to Baccus rather than have it deleted. That way, I get to combat my nagging annoyance with there being only male leonidans and at the same time not waste efforts on an article I'm not that concerned about nowadays (plus, it means there's one author per leonidan again :P). An alternative is that I make her a headhunter instead, have her lose her first partner, and then pair her up with Jane (or, she starts out as a leonidan, then gets assigned to headhunter, then gets paired up with Jane).
  • As for the teams (Sienna, Winter, Herald, Yellow and Gauntlet);
    • Sienna's the team I hope to repurpose as the ARES-survivor group - which is complicated by the fact that you have two Class II spartans in it. One possibility is that they get to stay, but Mattias (and possibly the other JAVELIN spartans too) go away to make room for Laz, Rachel and Balduin. Or, instead of complicating things, I give the ARES team a different name, and we keep Sienna exactly the same - I assume you'll prefer the latter.
    • Winter, as I said, I'm planning on assigning Jane and her partner (possibly Bonnie, but more likely Nessa like before) to. Hào will remain, but Rachel and Balduin will probably go to that class III team instead.
    • Herald I'll probably delete: without Jane in it, it doesn't serve any purpose. Or, I could repurpose it as the ARES team.
    • Yellow is unnecessary if Cassandra's removed - could always be mentioned as being her team during the training phase, but otherwise doesn't serve any purpose.
    • Gauntlet, as I said, I'm hoping to make Cassandra the leader of instead of Valeria. Otherwise I see no need for us to change it at all.

I don't know if all that made much sense, but I hope you understand it well enough to give feedback. And if you have any counter-suggestions, let me know.

Thanks :) I'll continue on that course with Cassie then. And I'll think more on what to do with Bonnie - come to think of it, having a headhunter pair with one from alpha company and the other from beta might be interesting.

As for Sienna - as I said, we don't have to change anything at all if you don't want to - I could easily just call the ARES team Cobalt, Lava or Herald or something like that. Though, if you're willing to change some things as long as your class IIs get to stay, I think we could manage that as well. All we need is some sort of intervention from DRACULA (perhaps as part of a bargain with D'Souza?) and boom - class IIs on the team :) That's what I suggest, anyway.

Hey, I've been trying to catch up on what I've been missing, so I read through many of your articles, including Project CONSEQUENCE. Nice work :) Anyway, I noticed you listed Cassandra as one of the templates for GENOME, which gave me an idea on how to solve that annoying plot hole that is the letter from Cassandra to John, as well as the fact that canon states Cassandra indeed was crippled by the augments.

Let's say Cassandra does get crippled by the augments - so badly that even in 2552 she hasn't been fully healed (I was thinking of having it be through an extreme allergical reaction to one of the chemicals, but that's not the point). To cover this loss, GENOME decides to clone her (and use gene therapy to remove the allergy defect), and - voila! A Spartan-II by the name of Cassandra able to operate in Gauntlet Team (flash-clones can be made to retain their template's memories, so she'd have the memories and skills of the original, though she'd probably have to be re-augmented), and another who's extremely crippled and can write letters to John.

So, what do you think? I realize this may be a stupid - or at least overly complicated - idea, so you decide. Totally no pressure :P

Yeah, prototype sounds good - especially since I just realized the other clones were conceived rather late (it says 'round 2550 in the article anyway). So, what would be a good year for her to be conceived? '40? 45? 49? I'd personally prefer if she got at least 10 years to operate in the war and get the experience she'd need to lead Gauntlet, but let me know what you think fits best in the context of your article.

However, now that you mention it, the tag is indeed a problem. Drat. Well, I could have the original dropping the tag and getting recruited into ONI as a desk jockey (though that'd probably be impossible considering the augmentation damage). Alternately, the clone could get a different tag (perhaps 115, as a reference to the tag I originally used - IE before the encyclopedia revealed it as 075 - or a very high number to imply S-III or JAVELIN status), and then revert to the 075 tag after being declassified (and the original dying - possibly during the Battle of Earth - or giving it up, changing her ID and joining ONI, leaving the clone to take up her ID and role as a Spartan). Both solutions are a bit complicated, though. What do you think?

No worries about the RP, there's three of us in it now and so i'm just gonna exfill my team and wrap it up! I take t the Necros is also long gone and kind of redundant with the new canon breaking through with the Kilo-Five and Reclaimer trilogies. But out of curiosity, if you're looking for a fresh start with something, i'm starting up my Universe Seven, which is going to follow closely to established canon and go no further in time and speculation than canon has. I've seen how many other post-war universes sprung up after halo 3 and now they're all relatively NCF. With this new one i'm planning on diving deep into the HCW and how that will set up characters, rather than whole systems, for the SPARTAN-IV project and the UNSC Infinity. I'm taking a character-orientated personal approach, much like the halo novels and comics do, to gain a greater depth into the universe. You keen on joining in, i could use the help?
